In this video blog, I iterate my assessment of the potential impact of the strike on my favorite shows, and I list which side I pledge my allegience to. Feel free to share some of your thoughts and list which side you are on as well. Enjoy!

Hi Frederic. I finally was able to snag my brother's computer so I can view some of the videos I've been missing out on.

I feel for the writers and I don't mind waiting it out if they can get some satisfaction. I don't remember the last strike and how it affected life as I knew it. I'm sure I was busier then and didn't give two hoots about it. As watching tv occupies a good bit of my time these days, you can be sure that I will definitely feel the sting of its absence! Just the threat of more reality tv is enough to cause widespread panic among the masses -or it should be! I will probably find myself reading more rather than subjecting myself to that.

I should admit that there are a few reality shows that I watch and really enjoy but it seems like each new one they come up with is a little more inane (or inSANE) than the last one.

So far as how the existing scripted shows will be affected I don't have a clue. I hope no harm will come to them but I guess it could happen. At least everyone should be well rested and fresh by the time it is all over!

It does feel like it's going to be a long, long winter without some of the shows we've all come to love. Of the new shows they gave us this fall I have really come to like a few of them pretty much. Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, Chuck and Journeyman are a few I would surely miss. Actually, I already am missing the first three and Journeyman apparently showed their finale last night. I guess it is yet to be determined whether it will be the season or the series finale. And waiting for a whole nother year for Lost would be practically unbearable.

Hopefully, they will soon hammer out a deal that will make the writers happy and the big wigs won't be too bent out of shape about it. Then we'll all be happy... at least for a little while.

Speaking of happy, I hope that you and your family have a very merry Christmas and a great new year!

Your pal,
Lynda
If the late night show of letterman can come to agreement with the writers, how come they can't come to agreement with the other shows? this is so unfair to the fans and the writers who want to go back to work. End the strike NOW!!!!
