Criminal Minds
Returns: Wednesday, April 2, at 9 pm/ET (CBS)
Number of new episodes: 7
Where we left off: Following the departure of Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) came out of retirement to rejoin the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit — and rubbed some of his coworkers the wrong way. Garcia got shot by a psycho date but survived and returned to work. The job took a toll on Hotch, whose wife left him.
What's next: "We're gonna blow out of the gate with three or four surprises," says exec producer Ed Bernero. "We're going to use these seven episodes to really set up next season." Stories coming up will involve an unsolved case that Rossi has carried around for 20 years, develop new romances, and turn up the tension for the soon-to-be-divorced Hotchner.

Are you relaying new info about an upcoming romance for Hotch, or is this connected to the article in your print magazine, which said other characters would have romances and Hotch would have a separate story with tension? Because I see three possibilities. 1) Hotch joins the dreaded romance thing. 2) There's no upcoming Hotch romance and you need a better editor. Or a proof reader. 3) You're deliberately misleading people by tying the words "romance and tension" with only a slash between them and implying that they're both connected to Hotch. Which is it?

Thank you for politely pointing out the shortcoming of clarity. The item has been edited.

I believe we've already read that there will be possible romances with Garcia, JJ, and possibly Morgan. The "tension" will be with Hotch's upcoming divorce. I'm looking forward to seeing how they will handle all of these storylines.

Yes, thank you for clarifying. And, looking over my comment, I could have phrased it nicer, so I apologize.

It would be nice to see JJ and Morgan getting closer. I like JJ and I hope she get more screen time.

I would like for Josh Stewart to return as a love interest for JJ -- they had great chemistry last season in the episode that took place in New Orleans.

I'm so glad this show is back. I love it! Be careful everyone. The minute you say you love a show, the big guys pull them

i loved this show... until Joe M. joined the cast...
he ruins every show in which he has been cast; no talent with lots of ham... he is a pitiful addition to an otherwise good tv series.

Huh?! Is this related to CSI:NY, is there a crossover or something?

I agree with another viewer, the show is much better WITHOUT Joe Mantange. There are so many good actors out there. GET ONE and replace this ham hock.
He ruined the Spenser series for me. The other actors are carrying the series right now.
PLEASE, somebody find a good replacement for Gideon.
Please, please, please

I don't care for Joe Mantange in this part either: I don't normally mind him, but he is just not the right "fit" into the rest of the ensemble, although I can't decide if it's the way he is being written or the man himself. I wouldn't mind saying, "Good-bye" to him now, especially since he finally cleared that 20 year old mystery, with BIG help from the team he always behaves in such a superiour manner to. It would be a good way to write him out - Shazam! It's solved and he can go back to the civilian life. Then they can bring in someone who really DOES have some chemistry with these fabulous actors.
And why are they torturing Hotch like this? First the divorce, then the B**** supervisor from H*** who, for no discernable reason, seemed to hate his guts, and now more baloney! Lay off: they need this guy to function and it seems only the team realizes how good at his job he is, which is just stupid. But of course, that happens in real life all the time, doesn't it?
And incidentally, the Garcia I know and love would have verbally LAMBASTED Rossi for barging in on her in the middle of the night! Instead Penelope mostly just stood there with a few mutterings and was actually WORRIED the next day that SHE would get in trouble! Nonsense. The next time my husband's boss BURSTS in on us while we're taking a 2:00 am shower, heaven help him because I've got a cane and I know how to use it!

Did anyone else notice that the actor that played the unsub in this week's Criminal Minds was the same one that played the killer on Psych (episode 9 Lives) back whenever they did this same story line (serial killer makes the murders look like suicide).
