« About TV Guide Channel
TV GUIDE CHANNEL PRE-EMPTING
**TV Guide Channel NOW has pre-empted about 2/3rds of the upper part of the screen with all kinds of inane and dull "programs"! *There is barely room to view about 1-1/2 lines of the program titles. **My old eyes wearing tri-focals just don't read all that fast. *With so many channels, it takes about 3-minutes for the whole thing to roll around. **I have to watch about 3 times around before I can figure out what is on.
**AND for some reason - some IDIOT program schedulers seem to think that having obnoxious Joan Rivers & daughter pre-empt the entire screen to blather on about "fashions" is worth watching. ***THE TWO RIVERS FEMALES ARE ABSOLUTELY and TOTALLY BORING!!! ***THEN TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY... **The program schedule is so small way down at the bottom of the screen that it is impossible to read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 **LET THE IDIOT PROGRAMMERS KNOW THAT WHEN GRANNY TURNS ON THE TV GUIDE CHANNEL - --I HIT THE MUTE BUTTON SO I DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO ANY OF THE YAKKETY-YAK ON THE TOP 2/3rds OF THE SCREEN. ***TV Guide magazine and TV Guide Channel just don't get it... ..."IF IT AIN'T BROKE...DON'T FIX IT!!!

I would not have stated it that way, but I do feel that the TV Guide channel has lost its way.
How much does it cost to pay a data entry person to enter the listings, a technician or two to keep the broadcat equipment going, and the equipment costs? If the TV Channel got rid of all of the other irrelevant programming, the above list would probably be the only costs for the channel which would limit the need for advertising.
I also agree that the Rivers ladies do not hold my attention on red carpets or in studios. The only time I actually stopped to watch Joan Rivers was when she was performming stand up comedy on an hour long Bravo show. As for all of the other hosts, they are not needed. The studios they tape their shows in are not needed. The shows are not needed. Sell them to E! where they belong.
Go back to doing only listings while playing soothing music in the background. Only then will I unmute your channel.

It seems the TV Guide channel forgot it's suppose to be a TV GUIDE CHANNEL!!! It's a channel that can't make up it's mind what it wants to be, it has games, it has talk shows and it has programs. So now today, it took me forever to read the two lines at the bottom to see what was on TV.

And what is up with the commercials that now break in and take up the ENTIRE screen? It is unbelieveably frustrating to sit through the whole channel roll, knowing that the information you've been patiently awaiting is just about to appear and the next thing you know, you're watching a flight of commercials with no TV listings at all. And if that's not bad enough - when the commercials are finished and the programming returns to the 1/4 screen (at best) of TV listings, it doesn't resume where it left off because it just keeps rolling during the commercials so you have to sit through the whole &*%$ thing again. I agree - what idiot had this bright idea? THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE "TV GUIDE" CHANNEL BUT IT APPEARS THE "GUIDE" IS AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR PRIORITY LIST!

Concur. TV Guide Channel has, in the words of business school, forgotten its core competency. People go to the Channel to (a) check what's on TV programming or (b) to check the time. No one (in their right mind) turns to the channel deliberately to watch(much less LISTEN to ) Joan and Melissa!! Reducing the size of the channel scroll in favor of the Twin Rivers is ludicris - and totally abandons the Channel's one area of viewership advantage: the damn scroll is what attracts, not Joan and Melissa!!!! That the Channel thinks it can compete with the major networks for the entertainment market share is nuts. Granted, the Channel should aim to make money. But not by jumping into mature genres of broadcasting. Rather: find its niche, a niche that relates to its competency. How about a calm and well spoke host previewing and reviewing movies that just happen to be coming up on other channels??? And charge those channels for the semi-adverts-in-review-form. That fits with TV Guide and one of its primary attractions. That's what core competency is all about. Get rid of Kimberly, Rosanna, Madison, and the rest. Return to roots. Please... PLEASE!!!!! My finger is getting tired from using the mute button.....

I watch the TV guide channel only to find out what is on TV. It gets exremely annoying with the dorks they have hosting it, who gives a rats a_ _ about the SAG awards anyway.

I agree with this person. You can only view two channels at a time. It was never like this before this company. The women who are reporters are totally unprofessional. Where did they come from? They sound stupid. This channel is only focused on one audience--the twenty somethings. Celebrity look-alikes is so insulting to women everywhere who don't look like a celebrity, but are beautiful in their own way. I put your channel on "mute". I've heard too much swearing and sexual content during the "family times". Fix this, or I'll stay on "mute".
