Swingtown a foul attempt at entertainment

Of all the type of shows America could be presented with, and you show another foul, lack of morals, in your face sexual encounters, and marriage is stupid type of show. SHAM ON YOU, THOSE WHO WROTE IT AND THOSE YOU WATCH IT. Are not our kids already so promiscuous that our babies are having babies, and having sex at the young age 10. What are you thinking? America has to take a stand at getting our morals back in tack and it starts with you, you who are writing and delivery these stories to TV.

Do we not have enough trouble, respecting each other for who they are without dogging the sanctity of marriage.

Shame on all of you.

Hows about you get yourself off to church and pray for forgiveness for casting that first stone and judging others.
Just so happens I lived through that period in and around the Chicago area. I find the show to be nostalgic and funny.
Here's a thought. If you really don't like the show don't watch it. If enough folks agree with your opinion the show will go away.

You said: "America has to take a stand at getting our morals back in tack and it starts with you, you who are writing and delivery these stories to TV."

Morals are taught by parents. Morality is set in children before the age of 5. IF you do not teach your children, Right or wrong before the age of 5, they will not learn it later in life. The issue is with parents NOT raising their children with a proper upbringing. TV does not teach morality. Teachers do not teach morality. Parents do and today, a lot of that education is not being shared by the younger generation today, but only because of a lack of a well defined moral center. If children see parents abusing drugs and alcholol, fighting ect when they are babies, they will grow up to think it's OK to do that and the moral compass is set.

Sancatity of marrige has become a joke with baby-daddies and people celebrating Jami-lynn spears baby at 16 yo! Look at her Parents and the type of moral compass the Spears girls have. They don't and that same thing will be taught to their kids.

Swingtown is a fun show and wil not morally bankrupt America.

Swinging is popular right now, like it or not.

Shame on me? Not on your life.....lmao...if you do not like you don't have to watch. I think the 70's where the best time of my life even though I was a teenager through those years. I love seeing the retro avacado green fridge and music I know all the lyrics too...So if you really want to say Shame On You ...go after the Girls Gone Wild commercials, they are way more extreme than this show.

I was a young wife and mother in the 70's and this show makes me remember how it was back then. My husband & I were not swingers but the show is about more that that issue. Besides, when I was a stay at home mom I watched soap operas. That was all there was then. The shows have adultry every week. Someone sleeping with someone else's husband and not openly and in agreement like swingers but sneaky. There is murder, stealing, lying, cheating, baby swapping, and everything else you can think of and no one says to ban the soaps. No out cry to take them off the air. No one claiming they are influencing our kids or lowering our moral values. There is so much violence and adultry on tv on so many other shows if you watch any tv at all. Why single this show out? To me it is a fun show to watch and I enjoy it. Just like I enjoy Saving Grace and her evil ways. I enjoy Law & Order and all the murders on that show. I love Dexter and you just can't get worse than that. A moral serial killer if you will. If Swingtown is offensive to you then try and catch some reruns of the Brady Bunch or something else from that era. For those that enjoy it, leave it alone.

I think the Bible-thumpers just look for any platform they can find to convert those not interested in conversion; even when the subject is not religion, they insist on making it one.

To me it's a greater sin not to be compassionate, loving and caring about those we feel worthy of our love and affections. Why must we go to our graves balking at the opportunity to extend ourselves beyond our family?

It's a shame we have human sexuality at all to deal with. I just wonder how many zealots would have us all castrated at birth if given half the chance to do so.

No wonder the world is in such a state when we purposely avoid human contact for religious reasons when in fact we are all social beings and the owners of normal healthy libidos.

When religion tells us not to go outside our little existences because it's a sin; we need to question why they want to keep us away from that which we are by our very nature.

They seem to forget that sex is a good thing perhaps given to us from a supreme being and not a curse heaped on us from Satan.

This attitude doesn't wish to imply we should be irresponsible as adults either, for there are always consequences which we pay for in this life; forget about the next one.

Wow...strong opinion about a show that's far less appalling than some other empty-headed programs lately. While I consider myself fairly conservative and was expecting Swingtown to be silly and frivolous (well, it might be those things), I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually a thought-provoking show. The whole concept of swinging is a secondary theme, in my opinion. I didn't begin watching until the third episode and still hope to catch the first two, but I'm enjoying watching these characters develop. Please "Unhappy With Swingtown," don't be so self-righteous and deem all who watch as immoral sinners! This show is not nearly as vapid and depraved as some---like Desperate Housewives, for instance. There's hardly been any real "sex scenes" so far as I've seen, and the show is much more clever than just another shock manuever by a network trying desperately to hang on to an audience that isn't nearly in the grave. I relate to it because I grew up in the 70s and let's face it, no matter how long you've been in a committed marriage, we all get faced with temptation every now and again. To deny this means you're more repressed than your email implies!! I think the show is actually somewhat responsible about how it protrays the consequences of their "swinging." These characters have motives and insight and show plenty of subtle regret and confusion. If you really want to worry about something--try checking your spelling.

Well, if you really want to see a "poor excuse for entertainment" watch David Caruso on CSI Miami. He is a sorry excuse of an actor.
I like Swingtown. Great fun, great entertainment value.

Don't watch the show! We all have choices! That is why they make chocolate, vanilla & strawberry.

I wouldn't let kid's watch it & it is LIFE! People can be happily married but if it works for them then it works for them. It doesn't deface marriage vows. It may actually help some marriages that are having with those type of problems. Better then staying married & not being happy just for that reason alone. They have these topics on talk shows to. As long as it isn't cheating & two people agree what they do in their own bedroom good for them.

So who said this show was for kids? Put your kids to bed, or don't let them watch it. Don't blame America's problems on Swingtown. Didn't seem like we had the problems we have today back in the 70's, so put that in your pipe and smoke it! I love this show and I hope it stays!
