Wow - so Hart Hanson says he tells everyone on the show not to pay attention to the bloggers. Probably because in another line he says if they DID pay attention to the bloggers he would have been FIRED. Then he said the bloggers say very mean things about all the castmembers. Is that so? I don't blog anywhere but here, but the only "mean" things being said were about Mr. Hanson. And I don't thing we were all that harsh.

I am very grateful to Mr. Hanson for creating this wonderful show. I just didn't like the decisions he made regarding the last episode. Then the comments he made in his interview to explain the reasons behind the decisions didn't make it any better.

He should come over to the BFZ. He would see how much we really love and respect his show, his characters and himself. Just because we were unhappy for one episode, doesn't make us hate him. And those decisions are very redeemable, imo. ;)

I only blog here, too, Kath, but I've never seen anything mean about any of the cast members on any website I've read. (On the other hand, I see mean comments about House actors all the time). I've seen a few critics say bad things about Bones actors, but never a blogger or commenter. One of the other writers, maybe the guy from House, said something like he had to dig through a lot of junk to find the few insightful comments, but I think that is pretty true of anything on the internet. Anyone who is web savvy learns where to look and what to ignore when they are looking for constructive information.

I certainly don't think writers should write based solely on what the online audience wants to see, but if there is huge public opinion leaning one way or another (like say, EVERYONE thinks the finale was badly written) it might be smart of writers to at least pay attention and acknowledge that maybe they don't know everything about everything.

Bill Lawrence, who is the showrunner at Scrubs, has been very honest in interviews about some of the show's more lackluster episodes and I think he comes across as a better writer because he acknowledges his mistakes, even if the audience has to point them out to him, and actually pays attention to what people are saying.

A lot of people online are illogical crazy people just trying to stir up trouble, but there are also quite a few people who are very intelligent. Hart might be smart to remember that.

Totally agree. Someone commented on this site that they go with the flow of any show, because if that is the way the creators and writers wanted it to be than so be it. Well, I'm pretty easy-going, too, but on this (Bones S3 finale) I just had to take a stand. We've all shown we can blog respectfully, effectively, insightfully and entertainingly. We certainly don't all have the same opinions, but we love to discuss our favorite shows to death and feel safe doing it here because of the guidelines in place.

Bingo!

Mr. Hanson, I don't want you to "pander" to me. Bones has been my favorite television show since day one. And you created it! So you were pretty much up there in my book. Just respect me and I'll respect you.

I have seen another blogger who has been VERY mean to Cam. Kind of unreasonably mean. Not here of course! I did say that Hart sucked, but it was in the heat of the moment! I'm not taking it back either!

I hope that Eric is still looking at what the fans are saying. Most of them have been very postive in his favor. It's a shame that Hart thinks so little of us. If he thought about it, Clark or Sweets would have been a more logical choice for gormy's apprentice.

I'm still debating whether to buy Season 3. I did like all the episodes but 2 and I REALLY hated the finale. It's just that my enjoyment of them is kind of dimmed now that I know what's coming. I'm thinking if more people think like me, Hart will be feeling the fan's displeasure in his wallet!

I've seen bloggers be mean to Cam, too, cmk, although not mean to Tamara. I hope Eric sees how much we all love him, too. I think it is sad that he thought fans would be mad at him. We know it isn't his fault his character was destroyed!

I'll buy the DVD, but I know what you mean about the finale making it hard to watch old episodes. I've been watching the reruns on Fox and I almost cringe everytime Zach pops up onscreen.

I can't remember where I saw it, maybe the Eric Milligan interview. A blogger (I've seen their Cam rants before), posted pictures of Cam and 2 other "things" and had a caption - "Separated at birth?" It made me VERY uncomfortable and seemed to also slam Tamara. There should be a line that people think about before they cross.

Do you think saying Hart sucks crossed it? Maybe I should have been more specific - it sucked that you had to tell one of your loyal actors that he was fired at a basketball game.
It sucked you had to totally ruin his character and my enjoyment of your show.
It sucks that you are only concerned with how many hits you get by bloggers, then actually looking at the contents of them and trying to fix your big mess!
It sucks that you can't admit you screwed up by airing what had to be the work of a temp writer - definitely not one of the regulars!

To get back to the original topic, I'd like to say that I really enjoy this site and to be able to "chat" with you and Kath and Famin. I really wish the season would start sooner! We could have some new topics for discussion!

Haha, well, maybe Hart doesn't "suck", but I do think he made some "sucky" decisions. I love this site and talking to you, too; I hope we get more info about the new season soon, too. I can't wait until we have some spoilers to get excited about.

This was driving me crazy, so I went back and looked for it. The first Hart Hanson interview, page 10. The blogger actually writes "Death to Cam!" One of the "things" is actually a bad picture of Steven Tyler (sorry Steven!). I used to see this blogger all the time, not so much anymore (thank God!).

I've seen some mean things said about Tamara on other sites. I have a bit of a problem with people slamming an actor or actress who is doing their best to entertain. They have feelings.

I may jokingly disparage a showrunner, but I do really try not to make mean comments on an actor/actress. I'm not sure why I make that distinction, but I don't have to be reasonable. I'm a fan.

Photobucket

And I wasn't really thrilled with that season ender either. I really liked Zach.

I've said before that Hollywood is a rough business and an actor/actress should have a tough skin. However, if I was Tamara and saw that, not only would my feelings be hurt, my creep vibe would be skyrocketing! Like I said, where do you draw the line? Obvious profanity, yes. Calling for the death of a character? I say the way it was presented, yes. I wonder about AF's obsession with this line of thinking. Maybe they should think about some therapy!

Ah, yes, this is why 99% of the time I avoid the comments on anything on this site that isn't in the Community section--here we seem to have fostered a sense of respect and intellect, but over there there are a lot of thoughtless jerks. I don't support actor bashing or any type of personal bashing, but you are right to say that it is difficult to figure out where to draw the line. To me saying "DEATH TO CAM!!!" isn't okay, but if someone genuinely thought they should get rid of Cam's character and thoughtfully explained why I'd be okay with it even if I didn't agree. That is my personal line, though; I think if you have an opinion and can respectfully explain it then you help the sense of community, but just "yelling" random insults is childish.
