Don't cancel New Amsterdam

I really don't think they gave this show a chance. I like the history part of his flasbacks and I really wanted to know if the Doctor was his one true love or was it going to end up being his partner.

it's probaly too late for this show. look at fox's website for a "contact us" (usualy located at the bottom of the page) & ask them about it.
