What is up with LOCKE?
I don't know if you guys are wondering the same things I am, is Locke a good guy or was he reincarnated as a unibomber/liar? Every since he blew-up the hatch he went from healed/disabled person/spirtual advisor to some dark bad force. Did I miss something when Mr Echo died? Did the dark cloud thing possess Locke mind? He's now a killer too? Let's just kill the hostage? Love to hear your thoughts, who wants to wait til next weeks episode when he is revealed? Are the castaways in danger of him? Im listening! ha ha Joy

I may be way off base but I now have an idea that Locke was part of the Dharma group, but not necessarily on the island. Last season in his flashbacks he seemed to be lost and searching for some meaning. Maybe he hooked up with them. Perhaps that is why he was so insistent on uncovering the hatch, doesn't seem surprised or frightened by what they have encountered on the island. Also, it seemed odd that in the middle of everything he would stop to play chess, unless he knew that he needed to get to something through the game. This also seems to be why he input 77 when asked prompted "If the station has been taken over by hostiles". He knew the station would be destroyed. I'll just have to see how things play out.

Dear Phillygal, you might be right. I think that since Locke was in a wheelchair before and unable to walk, that maybe he participated in a study/research program and that's the connection. Or maybe he is the main man? I was also very suspicious why Locke would be in another room of Eye-patch guy, someone he didn't even know, playing chess? If I just met someone new, on a remote island,I wouldn't insult my new host by disappearing to a part of his house to play a game. Also with what happened 2 weeks prior by not entering the numbers and knowing what I caused, why would he once again enter numbers he had no way of knowing what reaction/or outcome or did he? Also if I were Syaid I would not have Locke off the hook so easy about blowing-up the station, I think he was sending the Others a warning!!!. It just doesn't make sense that he would go to these lenght's just to protect his walking miracle. Even in the early days when he surfaced as a hunter the hairs on the back of neck stood-up!! Now he sacrifices the hostage, just as the guy was about to reveal that Locke was the wheelchair guy, yeah I think your on something. Also the discovery of the C-4 (explosives)was major, not everything he does is always beneficial for the group thanks for you thoughts Philly girl

"> Bad guy? Good guy? I'm a die hard LOST fan too and often (since the beginning) I've wondered about our boy, Locke and his intentions. The wheelchair thing has me bamboozled too. His motives always appear to be for the greater good, but who's greater good really?? I guess we'll just have to be patient, won't we??

*sigh*
K, he isn't a bad guy, he just doesn't want to go home! His father has been the administrator of all things bad that have happened to Locke, and if my theory is proven correctly tonite, he will have not only ruined Locke's life with his girlfriend, but also broken his back in the first place. Locke fears his father, and does not want to go the outside world. On the island, he feels safe. It is where he is comfortable. He can't adjust to the normal lifestyles we take for granted because he is afraid his father will come around and screw it up again. He isn't bad, he is just a scared man who wants to continue to not only walk, but to be in his comfort zone, even if that means sabatoging everyone elses chances of getting off the island.
