9:20: Steve Carell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were a great presenting match. But it's all about "anal fissure" funnyman Hugh Laurie tonight. Another Brit giving another well-spoken acceptance. Sorry, I mean "smoooooth." I really think I could listen to him throw out the laughs for hours.
9:23: Dennis Haysbert ends all the chuckles with the "in memoriam" moment. I'll miss Peter Boyle's "Holy crap" shouts and James Brown's crazy clothing choices. But back to the awards....

Someone else should have spoken other than Ellen. I love her but that speech made sense at all.

I hoped they'd also be able include Angelina Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who just passed away from cancer over the weekend. She was a former actress who gave up her career to raise her family. Mayeb too short notice. This is why Angie and Brad were not there at the awards last night - he was nominated for the ensemble cast of "Babel."
My condolences to the family.

Hugh Laurie once again gave a very funny speech. And Steve and Julia were great together as presenters. Maybe those two will work together some time.
