Asa
Okay - OLTL has left us an opening for Asa's return.... Okay - he was found in the bed. Didn't see him dead.
How is this for an opening: Bo was going to arrest his "pa", right?
What if... Pa found out he was going to be arrested by his beloved son? What if... Asa decided to skip town (for awhile, which could be years in soap world). He will come back - wait and see............

I wondered that too. If you go by what has been said in the soap mags & such. They say that a deal couldn't be reached as to to put pa on reoccuring status so could be if a settlement were made--then maybe he could return. His health in real life isn't 100% though--guess we'll see. I hope that Bo will continue to struggle with pa's death as that was some good acting & I miss Bo not being in a front burner story.

I do not believe ASA will ever be back. From what I read it is final. They can NEVER have another ASA it would just not be right. To me he is unreplaceable. I think it was sad/wrong they let him go without an on screen ending. I will say, I cried my eys out at the last two episodes re:his funeral and family mourning scenes. Asa will be missed.

I'd like to think the show left the door open, but I'd be surprised if that was the intent.
Nobody can replace Phil Carey.
Mr. Carey did not want to be on recurring status and turned down the offer. I don't blame him. ABC hasn't treated its senior actors well.
So - we will be without Asa going forward.
