« The L Word

f-L-u

The flu has been going around at work all week, and lucky me, I'm dealing with it during my three-day weekend. At least I've got that extra day of sleep going for me.

:(

*mope*

I did watch the show tonight as part of my "lay on couch, sip 7-Up and broth" routine; I'm just not in any shape to blog right now.

Feel free to "guest blog" on my behalf and start discussions in the comments. I'll be back as soon as possible. (I've got a lot to say, just no energy yet to say it.)

My thoughts:

Another funny episode tonight, and I must admit I was a little skeptical when I first heard about all the new additions this season but they have only added new dimensions to the show.

I really like Papi and the antics she brings to the show but after tonight Tasha has won me over. I mean the most shocking thing of the night was when she told Alice to go home. She presents herself in a way that no one else on the show does and personally I like it. I'm positive that a lot of conversations between Papi & Tasha end with one of them pissed at the other; they're polar opposites, but I wouldn't mind seeing more of those two.

Finally Max and Tina get storylines that will lead to more interaction with the group, I am happy about that and speaking of the group how funny was the conversation about everybody being a whore at some point. When I heard kit say "high" I lost it. HA!

I cannot wait until the group finds out about Jenny's movie, especially Bette and Alice.

Best moment: Max walking into his office and no one making a big deal out of it, so great.

This season really has been so good and last night's ep was no exception. I really like the addition of Tasha. She's so stoic and yet there's real chemistry between her and Alice. I have to admit though, the writers are handling the whole don't ask/don't tell with a bit too much glibness. The scene in the helicopter with all the women soldiers was pretty hilarious, but two women would so NOT be kissing on a base like that!

Someone on this blog totally called it (sorry, can't recall who) about Tina (accidently) telling Kit about the Angus/nanny snafu. That was not pretty - I felt horrible for Kit.

The whole Max scene was a bit confusing. I feel like I missed something.

Loved the scene with Paige and Shane getting it on. I feel like it's been ages since we've seen Shane get some action. Too bad it was cut short :-p

While I am enjoying this season of The L Word a lot, I thought this was the weakest episode so far. Far too many scenes that were just lacking the zing and sparkle of last week's excellent Angela Robinson episode.
Hated the preachy school chat with Shane and Paige, Jenny is an uber-bitch this season, and Tina was just horrible having to be all smarmy producer trying to hook Jenny's book for her studio.
Didn't like Helena's card game much, and Papi is just annoying!

I'm a Tasha fan too. I hope they don't delve too much into her military history. This show is not great at big issues, it's best as soap opera.
Love Marlee Matlin. Not so keen on Jodi, who surely can't have much of a future with Bette now she's revealed a hatred of children AND that she isn't into monogamy.
Jennifer Beals is just gorgeous! If all else fails, she's there as eye candy!
We even had a song by the dreaded Betty in the final scene. Yuk. Lets hope next week's ep is back to form.

This episode fell a little flat. There was something missing in some of the scenes e.g. Helena's outfit selection could've been amusing but it lacked that spark. I didn't enjoy Jenny's smugness, Max's incorrect computer jargon, or the PSA style talk Shane and Paige held.

I'm actually quite happy about the addition of Tasha and Papi, because I enjoy watching them interact with one another. Tasha and Alice have great chemistry, and I really hope their relationship becomes a permanent fixture on the show. We need some relationships on TLW that are stable, lasting and don't involve one half cheating on the other. On that note, I don't see Jodi and Bette working out past this season.

*waves* I wish I was wrong, though. That was pretty awful.

I thought the conversation about being a whore with Helena was hilarious!

I do think Bette needs change and adventure but I don't think this chick is the way to do it. :(

I was wondering if they were going to bring back the stuff with Jenny's article being too close to home. I hope she gets burned and burned good! I really, really dislike her character as much as I dislike Betty's music.

Tasha and Alice... hmm interesting. I do like where they are going with her but I worry for Alice getting in too deep with someone who can't live an outward lifestyle like Alice is used to...

Poor, poor Kit. Of course, we all knew it was inevitable for her to find out somehow...it's just sad that this has to happen to them right after the abortion and all that. I have a feeling the abortion didn't help Angus's self esteem and then the band kicked him out around the same time and this had to have left him vulnerable but I doubt Kit will be able to understand since she has her own demons.

I like that Max is helping them even if he didn't say the right things and that they're getting him out with the gang somewhat. It's also nice to see people at work treating him as a non-issue.

The Helena game didn't add anything to the show for me at all.

I enjoyed this episode very much. I think this season is definitely one of the best. The heavy stuff of last season gave it such grayness, I'm glad it's back to yellows and crimsons!

I didn't have a problem with the PSA moments at the school. Sure it probably wouldn't be that easy in real life to get folks to open their minds but maybe it should be. Really loved seeing Shane back in the swing of things romantically. I love that although she's still screwed up Shane, she loves her brother and takes the responsibility seriously. This will help her grow so much. Very happy about that. Love Tasha with Alice and love seeing the interaction of Tasha and Papi. Polar opposites are often drawn to each other as friends to help learn and grow. They make sense to me. Was it wrong that I enjoyed the fight and Alice's black eye?

I thought Helena's wardrobe scene was amusing and really LOVED the scene at the Planet where they all admit to whoredom in one form or the other. Max is such a good kid, I'm glad to see him more with the group too. Jennie's a total spaz and would sell them all down the river for a positive review. I predict somebody will be kicking her ass before the end of the season.
