Episode Recap: Look Out, Here They Come!

Shane, Shane, Shane. Y'know, I found the whole thing with Shane and the wedding party to be so... surreal. At first, it was obvious that she'd wind up getting together with one of the bridesmaids, and it was funny when she did. But then... it got so out of hand, I started to roll my eyes and become bored with it all. Right. Shane's a player, Shane's got magnetism of epic proportions... whatever. I get it!

The scene I liked most was when Shane had a true heart-to-heart with the bride. Now, the question is, when Shane said "You remind me of somebody I used to know," who was she referring to? As I was watching the scene, I had thought in the very beginning of the scene that the bride looked a lot like Dana. Do you think that was to whom Shane was referring, or was it Carmen? I think it was Dana.

My favorite scene tonight was Kit's arrival in the prison. Foxy Brown in the house! I loved the scene between her and Helena, as if Kit was helping Helena decipher code. Great comedy, and so subtle. Very well-played out scene.

I could tell while Helena was watching Dusty doing her push ups that she was growing less afraid and more intrigued by her. I also didn't realize how absolutely gorgeous Dusty is until she was shown in better light, in the showers. Goddess, her face is beautiful. I am loving the interplay between her and Helena... it's a great balance of vulnerability, comedy and primal chemistry. Hilarious moment of course, when Dusty said, "I never murdered anyone! I'm here for tax fraud!"

So Phyllis can't drop off the U-Haul quite yet. "Help me!" Loved Bette's comment, "Break up with her again, Phyllis. With some lesbians, you have to break up more than once." Too funny.

Looks like Tina is absolutely still into Bette. I think it's cute when she defends Bette when people speak ill of her, and how she seems to be very flustered when she talks about Bette, or when Bette enters the room. We'll be seeing some developments between those two for sure.

I'm glad that Jodi and Bette were more like supporting roles this episode, and still feel like they're all chemistry and no compatibilty.

I am with Alice in feeling perplexed and confused by Tasha's complete devotion to the military.

What happened to Max's girlfriend? The one that accepted him for who he was, and treated him really well during the final episodes last season?

Finally... are you all ready to see the train wreck that is Jenny and her new assistant? I am!

Did I miss anything? Your turn!

Sorry but I really can't stand this recapper. I'm not sure if its your writing style or what. Please let Matt Mitovich do these recaps he is the only one on the site who knows how to do them well. Great example are his Damages recaps. Pure perfection.

I was not sure who Shane was referring to in her talk with Madison (the bride). I too thought Madison looked a lot like Dana but if you just listened to the dialog, I think you would have to conclude that she was referring to Carmen. The whole "don't throw away a good thing because of your fears" tenor of the conversation really seems to point at Shane/Carmen. I think Carmen was the girl for Shane and I still hope for a reconciliation in the final season.
The scene with the mother and bridesmaids chasing Shane out of the party was just ridiculous. Shane is certainly attractive and does have a certain animal magnetism but I don't think three mature(?) women would make complete fools of themselves for what was a one afternoon stand. Boo!!
The whole army plot is unrealistic. Last season when the lesbian crew took Alice for a ride was just unreal. No way would you take an unauthorized civilian on a flight not to mention the all lesbian crew. But a gay person wanting to make a career of the service might seem weird to me but it definitely happens. How one can remain in an institution that deems them unsuitable is beyond me (as a Marine veteran why anybody would stay in the military puzzles me a bit) but still true to life. Much more believable than the helicopter ride.

Was I the only one who laughed at the opening sequence with that producer wanting Jenny to sex it up a bit with all those wrong, wrong, wrong couples? Guess they've all made out with each other now pretty much!

I thought Shane was referring to Dana as who the bride reminded her of - as you mention, she looks a LOT like her. Would she have looked so fondly at someone who reminded her of Carmen? She didn't see her in her wedding dress anyway as Shane had scarpered already! Plus wouldn't even Shane look a little shame faced about facing a Carmen lookalike?
Love Helena and Kit's prison visit. Glad to see she's getting visitors. And I like how they made sure they had plenty of ugly naked women in that prison! Of course ALL the cast are gorgeous and wear designer clothes (quick snigger at Jenny's dress for the wedding BTW) but if all the prisoners had looked like models, it might have been a bit much.
Rachel Shelley is skinny isn't she!

Cate, I'm with you, the opening sequence was hilarious. I also thought it was funny that Jenny was so vehemently opposed to a sex scene with "Tina's" character in the book (can't remember the name). She says "no one wants to have sex with ____."

I agree with PKK - the three women chasing Shane down the driveway in front of all the guests was utterly ridiculous! Please, the mom and both sisters??? EWWWWW!

So Phyllis can't drop off the U-Haul quite yet. "Help me!" Loved Bette's comment, "Break up with her again, Phyllis. With some lesbians, you have to break up more than once." Too funny. I was waiting for Phyllis to make the connection between how clingy she was with Alice, and how clingy Joyce is being with her. Weren't those the exact words Bette said to Alice about Phyllis?

I guess our question from last week was answered - it was definitely Paige who burned down Wax and not her son.

Based on the previews for next week Helena will be getting out of jail, and she didn't look to happy to be leaving her new girlfriend.

Overall, this episode was just okay for me because of the ridiculousness of the wedding. Also, I think I have had enough of the "don't ask don't tell" story line.

While I really like this show there are some episodes that make me cringe because parts of it are so bad. Tonight was one of them due to the Shane/wedding storyline. I heard there was going to be more sex this year but come on - stuff like this is just too much.

I also thought it was just weird how Kit and Max take to the new girl reading Jenny's book. So here is a girl (that appeared to be homeless with no money for food) thats been sitting around the Planet for days reading the book. And Kit and Max just HAVE to introduce her to Jenny because she is such a huge fan?! It felt weird and forced. Could they have not introduced her character any other way? I thought of Single White Female as soon as I saw her so I am sure we will start to see the plain Jane slowly turn into Jenny.
