Better idea
OK. Let's say CBS executives had the best interest of the children in mind at all times...
Take 40 kids (8 to 15yo) of CBS executives, promoters, producers and crew, set them in the streets of LA, NY, Chicago or Miami and let them show their resilience surviving on the streets for 40 days without adult protection or supervision.
Call it Homeless Orphans or Runaways. Follow them day and night while they find food, shelter, comfort and hope in realtime America. Don't these (our) children deserve better?
Boycott CBS. Boycott commercial sponsors of Kids Nation. Ask elected officials to conduct background investigations of the executives, production crews and contractors to make sure there are no sexual predators/offenders mingling with these children. If there are, arrest the parents for endangering their children.
Better yet - CBS - Take that money and do an extreme-makeover type show showing America what its like to be homeless. Raise the selected children out of the gutters and follow them as they become contributing members of a decent society not victims of bottom-feeding predators.
