Hoping for a New Model
It's happening once again: a good show is going off the air. Less deserving ones remain (I'm looking at you, Bionic Woman).
I'm hoping a new model will emerge from the writers' strike, one that won't hook fans on a program and then yank it away when the ratings aren't high enough. Whether it's direct to DVD shows, programs that never air but instead are only available for sale on iTunes, I don't care - I want to be able to finish what I start.
Shows with over-arching plots are great. I enjoy careful planning on the part of writers and producers. But not getting to finish the story, well, that sucks the donkey's tail. It's like having a good book forcibly taken away when you're half way through it, watching it ripped in half, then having the half you've already read returned to you.
It's frustrating.
In all seriousness, why should I begin watching any freshman show?

I haven't heard that Journeyman was being yanked. I hope not. I like this show.

NBC missed its deadline to pickup new shows for the last half of the season so season 1 is over but there are thousands of fans who are rallying together to save this show and bring it back for a second season. So if you love this show as many of us do please join the fight to save it.
some things you can do:
1. Go to the post at the NBC message boards called "The Twelve Days of Journeyamn" and see what you can do to help. this post gives you 12 different ways you can help save the show. also look around at the journeyman page at the nbc message boards and see what everyone is saying.

2. sign all three petitions which you can find on the link i posted above.
3. Also please go to http://www.comicsonline.com/modules.php?name=Surveys&pollID=80 and vote Journeyman as the most missed show during the writers strike.

Journeyman just kept getting better, and now they are taking it off the air? And, to add the greatest insult, keeping Bionic Woman??!! You've got to be kidding me!
