Bonnie Gets Shot
I did not believe that Jericho could be so compelling this season (I was very disappointed with the second half of the first season). This new storyline has a thread of current and topical issue. Changing history books (in real life we have people who want creationism taught in science books). Stealing of money from the government (in real life we have that going on in Iraq). Imprisonment without a trial (in real life the Bush administration is doing this). It is nice that Jericho is not doing the flashback nonsense (from LOST) any longer. Flashbacks gave us good backstory last season, but now we know the characters, and just want to move forward.
The show has done a nice job keeping the story local to the town while still taking on the issue of a larger government.
Stanley, Mimi, and Bonnie were my favorite part, family, and love story of Jericho. It really breaks my heart that they killed off Bonnie; it was a logical part of the storyline, and helps to propel the story ahead... ...but it broke my heart to see Bonnie die. At the very least she died in a way that was braver than I could ever live in my life. She died a fighter, and she died brave.
I was not very happy with the aftermath of the Papa Green death. The focus was quickly removed with the conflict with the next town. But now one of their own was killed by the current corrupt government.
For the first time this season I am looking forward to what happens next.
