February 13, 2007: Insensitive
What do you get when you put a man who's in constant pain with a girl who can't feel any? A great episode. It's only natural that House would be drawn to Mika Boorem's Hannah, a teenage girl who suffers from an insensitivity to pain. To House, she is like the Holy Grail — a thing of unattainable beauty and not just because she's a cute blonde but because within her lies a potential cure from constant agony. If only his conscience, also known as Wilson, would let him biopsy Hannah's spinal nerves so that he can grow his own set of pain-free ones.
This is why we have Wilson, to keep House from going over the edge.... Although squaring off with Hannah to see whose condition is worse is a bit much. House seemed to win by virtue of having been shot, but I say that Hannah's having to perform daily self-inspections to see that she hasn't scratched off her corneas in her sleep trumps House's bullet wound. Having a 25-foot tapeworm living inside you is a close second. And thanks to the producers for yet another stunning visual of House groping around in someone's insides. Hannah's being wide awake on the table for that wasn't at all creepy or anything.
I realized tonight that I really enjoy the House one-on-one scenes. I'm talking about those times when it's just Laurie and another cast member on screen. Epps and Laurie work so well off each other that it's always fun to watch him with Foreman. Maybe it's because their characters are so much alike. Or maybe it's because Foreman can give as good as he gets. With Wilson, it's witty banter. ("He has 11 fingers?" "How do you not notice that?") And with Cuddy? Well, with her it's a whole other thing.
"Do you like me, House?" With those five words, jaws dropped across America. I know I sure didn't expect the tension to be addressed by Cuddy, but I'm glad she put it out there. For once House was speechless, which means there was no denial; his claiming to be an evil bastard doesn't count. In another three weeks (don't yell at me, talk to Fox programming), we'll see where this goes. I'm guessing it will lead to a "Will you be my baby daddy?" story line. We'll see.
Given that this was the Valentine's episode you'd expect some romance, but then you remember that this is House. And while there was a lot of coupling happening, most of it was bittersweet. Foreman and Nurse Wendy (Kimberly Quinn), remember her? They broke up. Cuddy had a blind date that turned into an overnight guest and then he dumped her. Cameron, after a heart-to-heart with Foreman about commitment, abandoned her notions of romantic love and solicited Chase for coitus — she was almost that clinical with her invitation. Wilson learned that a nurse he had his eye on used to be a he. Overall, Cupid did the doctors of Princeton-Plainsboro wrong this year, but I'll forgive him because the episode was that good.
Little things:
— Chase is starting to grow on me. I loved how he acknowledged that no one ever says no to House. — Foreman's distance from emotional attachment... very House-like. Another reason I see him as the top dog of the three underlings and the heir apparent. — House: No pill-popping this week. — Wilson: Loved his "Is it possible for you to just watch me eat?" line. — Hannah: Great performance by Mika, who made me believe she really felt no pain.
Now you tell me: Cuddy-House, love it or hate it? Cameron-Chase, love it or hate it?

Cameron/Chase: hate it. Cuddy/House: will love it. the sexual tension is always there. they need some awkward moment to increase the tension before fully becoming a ship.

"Now you tell me. Cuddy/House. Love it or hate it? Cameron/Chase Love it or Hate it?"
I've been a Cuddy/House right from the start so put me down the Love it column.
As for Cameron/Chase, Love it too. The only time I found Morrison to spark on screen was with Spencer.
I am pretty happy with the development of these two relationships this episode.
I want to stick rusty needles anytime House and Cameron are alone together. I get nauseous and bored at once whenever it happens (including this ep). *pets fast forward button*

First off, I loved the episode. Great job all around. Now on to the shipping:
House/Cuddy: Hate it. Cameron/Chase: Hate that too.
Both of those make my skin crawl actually. But I can deal as long as neither takes over the show. (At least, I think I can)

I love both Cuddy/House and Chase/Cameron, and I totally agree with the previous poster who can't stand House and Cameron alone together. Now, if they'd only bring me on the show as a love interest for Wilson. I've had a crush on Robert Sean Leonard since Dead Poet's Society.

This episode was real good... The case was interesting and it was good to see that House's conscience (Wilson) actually got House to balk on getting the biopsy done... I usually find House ignoring Wilson's comments and advise, so this was a change... Cameron & Chase, that's fine in my book... Everyone needs a sex life as Cameron put it... Cuddy & House... I'm waiting for it... It was great that she put him on the spot... I also enjoyed when he went and interupted her dinner... I can not remember exactly what he said when he "wispered" (LoL) before he left, but I remember that I was laughing so hard that I had to hit pause on the TV till I could get it together! So, it will be good to see what is going to happen come 3 weeks from now... Foreman, his relationship with Wendy didn't bother me all that much, it was really non-exsistent... House said something along the lines of "your still with her cause she hasn't given you a reason to break up with her"... (again, along those lines) and I don't know if he broke it off because House hinted that he "couldn't" or if because he felt bad that he always put his work ahead of her and didn't want to string her along... And the whole I pulled some strings to get you into this great teaching program, was a huge cop-out... I guess trying to make himself feel better...
Anyhow, since it is Valentine's day, I guess that is why this episode was more "relationship" related and the case was more in the background...
Until 3 weeks, everyone have a great Valentine's day!

Cameron/Chase: Don't care. House/Cuddy: Bad idea for the writers to go any farther then pent-up sexual tension. The reason people love the relationship is because: a. we don;t really know if they have slept together in the past b. would Cuddy who is so career driven and aware of her position be that dumb as to sleep with a employee and c. they can push it too the limit without having to worry about dealing with true emotions. Deciding to sleep with a friend is the biggest gamble around. If it works then great, but if it goes wrong then everything is lost.

Cameron/Chase: Haven't I just seen somewhere that their actors are engaged or just married? For me that added a nice irony to the zipless sex that Cameron proposed.

I was a big fan of the House/Cameron combination for a long time, but after the whole "Tritter" thing, seeing just how messed up House really is, I'm really pulling for her and Chase. Whatever they end up going through, I hope they do end up together. I like her character (as well as Chase's as of late) and as annoying as she can be at times, I think Chase actually gives a damn about her and she's much better off with him. I'm hoping that she just lets the whole House thing go.
I guess I lost a lot of respect for House and how he treated everyone during the whole Tritter mess, even Cuddy (who I've never liked, but he was pretty nasty to her). Along that line, it makes a good storyline for him and Cuddy to get together, but I wouldn't expect it to last. It doesn't matter who he's with, his personality and vices will eventually override everything else.
Wilson's position as House's conscience is amusing, but that always seemed to be a job for everyone.
I wish they would move House to another night so that we wouldn't have to put up with this American Idol BS all the damn time! Maybe Paula will have to do rehab and they'll just pull it from the lineup?! LOL.

I liked this episode. I'm not a shipper fan of any kind, I believe House needs to be alone, relationships kill a show. Having said that, I'll take House/Cuddy over House/Cameron, I cannot stand her. Nothing against the actress, but I just don't like her character. In fact those previews for the next episode made my ill with Cameron hugging House. I just don't see chemistry there, but I'm sure we'll see more of them, ugh. It's like the producers want House to be connected to every lead female in this show wether it be all the tension or what not.

Cameron/House - ICK Cuddy/House - ick House/wheelchair chick - interesting (she was witty and she pushed back) House/Stacy - still my fav
I liked this episode. I liked Cameron propositioning Chase too. They may have ignored it the first time, but I'm betting awkwardness will ensue this time.

I am a big fan but you know it is getting very difficult to hear Foreman argue with House anymore. I understand its a teaching hospital and the characters personalities, etc. But it has been a couple of years now and House is pretty much, always right, Their relationship just seems to be devoid of trust (understandable).
But when the trust actually harms the patients because of Chase, Cameron and Foreman's egos...it doesn't make any sense. Did he think House was making up the fact that the girl had CIPA? And how nuch more proof did he need. I don't know.
I won't stop watching the show but its something that would make me reconsider my viewing in the near future.

This is one of the BEST episodes since the Tritter stint. I Loved everything about it. Especially the House & Cuddy moments.
-"We met at Single Ballroom dance lovers online " HOUSE: "Why would he feel the need to admit that?" CUDDY: Covering face with chart in mortification.
-Cameron & Foreman moment in the lab. I would love to see them in a relationship. It would be much more interesting then her and Chase.
-Was it me or SPOILER or did it look like Cameron is going to kiss House in the previews for the next episode????
-HOUSE "Oh my God, you're not wearing a bra...You Just met him." CUDDY "I like him & I like sex!"
Women's lib was on and poppin' tonight! Cuddy & Cameron wanted some action & they were going for it. Felt bad for Cuddy -- I feel her frustration.

I found the whole House/Cuddy thing a bit repulsive. She comes off a desperate, he comes off as just being mean. The whole situation seems too contrived. I wish she'd start really being his BOSS and acting like his BOSS. She gives women in powerful roles a bad image.
Cameron and Chase is OK, if I have to see a relationship between characters.
The episode was just OK. I am getting very tired about everything being about House and his own needs. Yes, I know the show is called House but does it always have to mean that the show is about his problems?
