20 Minutes of Commercials Every Show???
I was a big fan of Heroes last season, and was pretty excited to see what this season would bring. Unfortunately, having the show interrupted every 7 minutes with 4-5 minutes of commercials seems...well, excessive. I found watching this past Monday that I was getting pretty frustrated, and will probably stop watching as a result. Anyone else feel this way?
(P.S. I don't have TiVo or its equivalent, so I'm stuck with just the mute button...)

Unless it is an episode with limited commercial interruptions, most 1-hour shows are about 43 minutes long, with 17 minutes, give or take a few seconds, of commercials.
For some shows, the possible reasons an episode may seem short could be related to the feeling that there is a lot of dialogue in a scene to get to some point, or the various scenes are brief to cover a few stories at once, or there is a lot of action, so it seems like time flies.
Since the allotted time is about the same for each 1-hour show, I often find that when an episode ends and it feels like there should have been more (in the case of HEROES), it's more because the writers are pacing a bunch of stories so we're progressing in each story little by little, which also means they still have more to share the next week.
