A Haunting: Casa de los Muertos-Meet Julian Sosa, Role of Eddie Benitez Jr
Julian Sosa, a young and upcoming American actor of Puerto Rican decent was born on August 1, 1988 in Queens, New York. He is the son Legendary Latin Jazz Guitarist Eddie Benitez. Julian’s first desire to become a performer was at age 10, when he learned to play the guitar and keyboard. As a young child, he always enjoyed picking up the guitar when his father, Eddie Benitez had his musician friends over to the house. Surrounded by the world of entertainers, Julian’s interest moved towards acting by the time he entered middle school. Julian’s passion for acting was influenced by the movie classics from the ‘30’s and ‘40’s, admiration for the great late Spencer Tracy. Julian created his own independent studies in acting and directing from various countries around the world. Julian attended a dance school where he studied ballroom, salsa and dance. Throughout his high school years, the talent of his acting and directing was displayed in high school and community theaters in Phoenix, Arizona. Julian has attended many Theater Workshops lead by prominent actors in Los Angeles.
Julian’s first television appearance occurred in 2007, lead role in “A Haunting” – Casa de los Muertos as the oldest son of Eddie Benitez. He auditioned with hundreds of other actors for the part of Eddie, Jr under the name of Julian Sosa. The casting team was not aware at the time that he was the son of Eddie Benitez. Julian did not want his father’s last name to influence the casting role. Julian was cast the lead based on his acting skills. Julian’s performance in “Casa de los Muertos” was very dynamic and powerful as the role of Eddie Jr.
Julian’s future projects include, The story of George Benson, Cheri, plus many more.
