Patrick Dempsey's Breakaway from Cancer Initiative

Hello Fans -

Many of you know Patrick from Grey’s Anatomy but not as many know about his involvement in Breakaway from Cancer. Patrick's mother, Amanda, is a two-time ovarian cancer survivor. She was first diagnosed in 1996 and is now cancer-free. During her battle with cancer, Patrick was actively involved in caring for his mother.

We invite you to check out www.breakawayfromcancer.com to learn more about Patrick's initiative. The Web site features Patrick’s Breakaway from Cancer public service announcement and will soon have a new podcast featuring Patrick.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Hi --

I wanted to update everyone with a new link to Patrick Dempsey’s Breakaway from Cancer public service announcement. It’s no longer featured on the Breakaway from Cancer Web site, but people can continue to see the PSA at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xcMOrgQhLg The PSA is also airing on TV stations nationwide.

In addition to the PSA, Patrick shares a more personal side of his off-screen life in a new podcast where he discusses his experience caring for his mother Amanda, a two-time ovarian cancer survivor. He also describes the Breakaway from Cancer (www.breakawayfromcancer.com) initiative, which helps increase awareness of the variety of resources available to cancer patients and their caregivers, including those provided by The Wellness Community and the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship.

Visit www.breakawayfromcancer.com to learn more, and if you’d like a personal copy of the podcast, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Jon Byington
