The Great8Mandate
Okay, this thread is to let all fans of the show know that the time has come for you to stand up and be counted, if you like me are looking for an eighth season of the show.
First and foremost, I understand that there is a feeling that the show has gone downhill since DR and his team took over the show after the departure of AS-P. Personally, I think that if the ball was dropped it was really dropped in season 6, and that Davis Rosenthal’s been doing his best to get the characters back into, well, character, after the strange and disappointing turns their stories took in season six.
Even if you believe that the show has gone somewhat south in this season, I'm going to ask you to think about the characters and their need to resolve their storylines. After seven seasons of a show of such high quality, is it fair to cut off the Girls' stories before they have the chance to finish them? No.
The Great8Mandate is an initiative created by the brilliant folks at gilmoregirls.org
I strongly encourage everyone who wants the chance to tell the powers that be how much the show merits an eighth season to visit the website and get involved. Proof of the fans' support counts for a lot in these situations. Even if you only mention this to friends and fellow fans, the message and the effort spreads.
This show deserves the chance for an eighth season, so help make it happen!

Long live Stars Hollow!

Even though this season has been spotty in places, I still love this show. I would hate to see it end in May because I think there is much more interesting territory to be explored. Stars Hollow is a fascinating place with lots of loveable characters. Who wouldn't want to live there! I am glad that Lorelai and Chris have finally called it quits. Their relationship seemed forced to me. Lorelai seems to be finally growing up and trying to find common ground with Emily. Those two characters make great television. I would love to see the Luke/Lorelai storyline resolved. If this show is going to end this season, I would love to know what happened to Mr. Kim. Has he ever been mentioned? With all the junk on TV, I would hate to lose a quality, entertaining show like Gilmore Girls.

Hear Hear guys!
The Great8Mandate has been going crazy - in the good way - since this post.
IF YOU DON"T WANT TO LOSE GILMORE GIRLS, please visit gilmoregirls.org and get involved. All it will take from you are a couple of letters, or even a couple of emails. We have no hope if people don't get involved. Even if you're thinking "What can I do? I'm just one person, who's going to listen to me?" Send an email or letter anyway.
If everyone decides they can't make a difference, so they'll sit back - nothing will change. It can only help the cause if you try to do something.
I support the Great8Mandate. You should too!

I'm so sad that they ended the show this spring. I cried big crocodile tears literally. Please bring it back for one last season. I just want one last season to see Luke and Lorelai married. We waited 7 years to see them get together and all we got at the end was a kiss. We all want something a little more. PLEASE!!! Just one more season and I'll be so content.
Thankyou for your time.
