Gilmore Girls
I agree and disagree. It has been a good season because everything is falling into place. Lorelai finally sees Luke as "the one". Rory is almost done with college, has a serious boyfriend and a possible career. Things look like they are wrapping up, but that can change quickly based on the 8th Season situation. Part of me hopes it will end this year b/c it is heading the right way. Logan and Rory, Lorelai and Luke, Kim having kids, etc. Yet, there are unsolved quirks- Marty? What is the deal with him? Is Christopher done for real? Or will they recycle old storylines and have him show up next season?
If there is another season, things are going to have to change drastically based on the fans' complaints about the writting. I have not had problems with it- not this season or the last 2. I just want the show to have closure at the end. If it continues and everyone stays on board, huge shifts will take place. In order "to get back on track", as some fans say, Marty might become Rory's love interest. Logan's actions so far, reactions to the money loss and company's failure, made me believe that he would go back to the way he was in season 6: drinking and childish. Yet, from the latest episode Logan is doing what he wants with his life. It is now possible for the writers to pursue the relationship further. Rory is graduating from college, Logan needs a job...it is possible they'll stay together(knock on wood). Yes, getting engaged is in their future, at least it is according to an inside tip on the E!News website posted a few weeks back. They won't get that far by May. It is something to check out if there is an 8th season.
Another topic to keep an eye out for would be Lorelai and Luke's relationship. Do they get married? Pregnant? All by the end of May? Is Christopher really done? There are so many questions left unanswered. If it is the end this year, well I hope that they actually have closure on all fronts. I don't want it to be like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, hundreds of open ended questions. The biggest would be what is in their immediate future? Where does each individual go?
If this is not the end, they'll still have to answer these questions. Maybe rock the boat to keep the fans going. I think things are fine right now. I know this sounds like something "a crazy internet person" (Laura Grahm) would say, but I want the characters to be happy. I want the show to end this year with closure in order to avoid having it cancelled next year (hopefully it will succeed!) leaving all it's fans clueless and jaw dropping expressions. Yet, another part of me wants it to continue the way it has (as long as rory and logan stay together), and watch the characters grow more.

You are so right about everything. Although,... The new vodcast of the Ausiello Report reported of a R/L breakup on the May 8th episode. But i don't know if it is true. Luke and Lorelai deserve to be together period. Not Chris, just Luke. They are perfect together.
