« Gale Harold

Fox's big mistake

My family has been rivited to the screen with the Vanished series. Up until Gale Harold's character was killed off. It was the most poor story line. Who approved it. First, if your going to kill off your main character, put some emotion into it. Show his funeral, his child and wife together. Perhaps even his getting rushed to the hospital. There was a huge disconnect there and I think you are going to lose a following. The writing for the first show that aired on friday seemed soap opera ish. Very different from the ones that started in August. In all honesty it was terrible. I think we will give it one more try this friday, but something has changed. You should of left it a mystery if Agent Kelton was dead or not, or just feigned death as part of the story. Perhaps you will find out what a mistake it was to kill his character off. Just when your audience was getting to know him. That was really dumb, whoever had that bright idea, should vanish. But in the end the show will flop, the magic is gone. Sorry guys. What a big disappointment.

I'm a fan of Gale Harold, but I just couldn't get into this show. I gave it a couple of episodes and just found it quite boring. The fact is that the show was going downhill fast in the ratings even before Gale Harold's character was killed off. I don't know what prompted them to kill his character off (I've heard everything from poor ratings to it was already decided he would be killed off after so many episodes to he was very difficult to work with on the set) but the show will get cancelled regardless. It would probably get cancelled even if Gale was still in it...in my opinion.

After recently watching my tape of this past Friday's show (11/3), I beg to differ. Yes, I thought Harold was the main character as well and played a pivotal role in the show. Goes to show just how well the writing was, I imagine. :)

Last week's show was very well done and I think they handled the "new comer" quite well. I almost wish I had copies of the previous episodes as I wasn't even paying attention to Eddie C.'s role. *blush* So, when the reporter said "I thought you were the guy I was sleeping with last night and now you're heading up this investigation?" I just about fell out of the chair wondering what I missed. DOH!

I hope to continue taping and watching VANISHED. If I can't, it won't be because of Harold v. Cirian. It'll be the new day and time.

I am devastated. After discovering this show for the first time last night and now reading that they are killing him off. Having been a huge fan of Gale Harold from QAF was rapt to find him starring in this show.
Hopefully I will get to see a lot of him before this happens. Does he have anything else in the works, he is yummy.
