Rise of the Silver Surfer
One thing about critics...they know what they like and come hell or high water they are going to try to make you believe the same way as they do about a movie, TV series, or book. Case in point, Maitland McDonagh and the less than stellar review for Fantastic Four, lamenting that this movie is for kids and Oooohhh, Von Doom looks hulking on the surf board.
Helloooo!!! Helloooo!!! Based on a COMIC BOOK!! This is not the dark, reimagined brooding Supeman Returns, nor is it Pride and Prejudice,...it's just a nice little summertime popcorn movie that continues the Fantastic Four mythology, and guess what, people will go to see it and people will like it because the effort is better than the first one, which wasn't as bad as the "experts" thought it was either,......and it made $154 million dollars, so someone else besides me must have liked it too because I didn't pay that much for a ticket when I went to see it.
So if your job is write reviews for entertainment venues, remember one thing...most of us aren't listening to you, and we can make up our own minds, thank you very much.
