The Dead Zone
I was so happy to see 2 of my favorite shows start up again: 4400 and The Dead Zone. One problem with "The Dead Zone" they replaced the original actor who plays J.J. All I can say is, what were they thinking. The boy who originally played J.J. had blonde hair and blue eyes, (which was good because he looked like Johnny). This new kid has brown hair and brown eyes. If tv shows are going to change actors, make sure the actor your replacing at least have similar looks from the original actor. I tried looking up the kid who used to play J.J. and he isn't listed any where any more..

I fully agree. The kid looks nothing like anyone on the show. I just didn't buy him as anyone's kid.

Anthony Michael Hall has ruined this show. His Johnny used to be a sensitive, bruised, empathic teacher type. Now he's this big bully with major issues. I'm epecially irked with the way he's always talking to Gene. Give Gene a break, Johnny; he's never been nothing but giving to you. It got so bad last season that I started rooting for Sean Patrick Flannery's congressman to give Johnny a real good beatdown. Then, I stopped watching the show. AMH: your ego ruined this show.

I was very upset at the first show. There is too much change. And then they kill off the sheriff. Why kill of Chris Bruno? It is like they flipped a switch and revamped the show. I hate it. I will give one week. Maybe two if i dont like it. I am done after watching since inception. This sucks.

Maybe they were trying for a kid to look like Sarah. But um, still you can't make a big change in looks with actors. Did they think people who have watched the show from the beginning wouldn't notice a big difference in the kid actors. And yes what a shock with killing off Walt. It also sounds like Bruce and Gene are leaving as well. Not sure what gets in these network people heads but to much change can be bad for a tv series.
Sorry Wollam11, I don't see Johnny as a bully type. As far as Gene, he was always hiding stuff from Johnny. If you remember he wouldn't get to close to Johnny so he couldnt touch him.

I agree with some of the comments made above. It was TOO MANY CHANGES TOO FAST AND EARLY ON IN THE SEASON!! Walt dying and Gene killing that guy was out of left field for me. Then switching the actor that plays JJ, who I thought the original was much better compared to the new kid was bad becuase it messes up the shows appearance. Me and the show have a hate love relationship. Sometimes I watch it besides the storylines are good and then other times becuase they were not. For instance I am really getting tired of the storyline involving the end of the world and the Senator now VP being at the center of the plan. How long has USA expanded on the storyline now 3 seasons straight? Now, I didn't watch last season completely becuase things became boring for me after the VP future wife died. Hopefully this season will be more interesting and I will try to watch the show from beginning to end. Does anyone know why the show does not have its own TV Show Blog like The 4400?

Wow -- I had a completely different response. I loved this episode! I was excited about the show for the first time in a LONG time, and feel like this was a hugely game-changing episode. It opens up interesting plotlines that had been written into a dead end (Johnny/Sarah, Johnny's paternity, Stillson's redemption). I am excited that "Armageddon" is going a different way.
The show has been really predictable for a long time. Potential problem + Johnny's vision = problem solved/people saved. Every time someone was in danger, you knew they were going to be just fine, so it was BORING. I even started off the episode thinking, "Well, they won't kill Walt, so we know where this is going...man, I wish the show weren't so predictable." And I was thrilled to be proven wrong. Now I am reinvested in the show and looking forward to where the showrunners are taking it.

I have to say that in my opinion Gene is a dishonest, greedy person who has used other peoples weaknesses to his advantage for years. I think he scammed Johnny's mother out of her money and he had no problem until this season using Stillson's money for his own gains.

Sure he is, just typ in google dead zone cast and you'll find the first jjhis name is spencer I can't pronounce his last name but it starts with an A
This other kid is UGLY and doesn't even fit the role, they should have stuck with the original jj or at least hired another blond blue eyed kid.

For some reason I thought they already had the new kid listed for the cast of "The Dead Zone". I couldnt remember the original J.J. real name. Well, I will give you all this. The new kid is a better actor but still, come on. They should of stuck with the same look. Must be a shortage of young boy actors with blond hair and blue eyes. lol

What is with killing off Walt? Hey, why your at it, get rid of Bruce too..oh wait they did. It took me a while to warm up to Walt. He grew on me. Guess it doesnt matter now.
The episode that aired tonight made me mad. all the whining about how J.J. doesn't have a father..um hello, Johnny is his father. Yet no one but a stranger so far is saying that..errrrrrr so far this season i mean. Oh, and I think Sarah is pregnant with Johnny's baby.

I am so happy that the Dead Zone is back on TV. The season with this shows seems to me so short. This is one show along with Monk that I can not seem to get enough. One month or 2 or new shows and puff it disappears. What is up with that.
