The Dead Zone

I was so happy to see 2 of my favorite shows start up again: 4400 and The Dead Zone.
One problem with "The Dead Zone" they replaced the original actor who plays J.J. All I can say is, what were they thinking. The boy who originally played J.J. had blonde hair and blue eyes, (which was good because he look like Johnny). This new kid has brown hair and brown eyes. If tv shows are going to change actors, make sure the actor your replacing at least have similar looks from the original actor.

Does anyone know what happened to the actor who was the 1st JJ on the Dead Zone-Spencer Achtymichuk? Why he was no longer part of the cast?
