Sami seduces EJ

Sami, EJ, Nicole, Days

Jealous of Nicole and upset that Lucas's bid for release has been rejected, Sami rebounds by seducing EJ this week.

"It's the opportunity EJ has been waiting for," says James Scott (EJ).

Conflicted over the two men in her life, Sami is devastated when Lucas sends her an e-mail telling her to stop hoping for a relationship with him and move on. Meanwhile, EJ is spending more and more time with Nicole - this week in a steam room. "Sami sends her friend Chris inside to spy on them," previews Scott. "He hears some moaning going on, which suggests Nicole is getting a really good back massage...."

Chris reports back to Sami, who is horrified that EJ and Nicole are getting hot and heavy. "Look, it's been a long time since EJ kissed another woman," defends Scott. "EJ's spent all this time pining over Samantha. Nicole is beautiful and (throwing herself) at him. There's a sexual tension. What's a man to do? It would almost be rude not to kiss her."

But he stops himself, telling Nicole he's in love with Sami. "It's not the kissing that's the problem. It's the sex that might follow," explains Scott. "EJ is in danger of crossing a line with Sami. He doesn't want to jeopardize his relationship with her, as tempting as it might be." EJ even tells Nicole he's trying to get Lucas out of prison, so he can vie for Sami's affection on a level field. Later, Sami confronts him about that.

"EJ says he's trying to get Lucas released because he wants Sami to be happy, which sounds very noble," notes Scott. "It's the kind of thing that would turn any woman on. At least, that's what EJ is hoping." In the middle of the conversation, Nicole bursts in and tries to kiss EJ, infuriating Sami. "Sami's really got her knickers in a twist over Nicole," grins Scott. "She's jealous of the threat Nicole brings, and you can't be jealous if you don't care."

Nicole leaves, and EJ gets a call from the prison saying his request to release Lucas has been denied. EJ comforts Sami, then asks where he stands with her. "Sami asks EJ to stay away from Nicole," reports Scott. "EJ doesn't have a problem with only seeing Nicole in a professional capacity, but since Sami has to give him a reason to want to do that." Sami counters with a steamy kiss and starts undressing EJ.

"Honestly, EJ's reaction is to be cautious, because Sami is reactionary. She does things and then regrets them. EJ doesn't want that," notes Scott. "But EJ's not really torn. He wants to rip Sami's clothes off and do what he's been thinking about doing every night for a long time."

So... will he?

OMG...I wasn't expecting that one. I guess Lucas really will be getting a new love interest.

I really don't know where they are going with this - but it looks like it will be interesting to watch!

My problem with it is that EJ's "real" personality looks to be coming through lately when it comes to Nicole. It looks like he actually does have an interest in Nicole, and he's even having her work with him to get Sami interested in him. I never have cared for the pairing of Sami & EJ anyway, since what happened between them, but I could see that the show didn't seem to think that made a difference in what they intended, either. Now that they have sort of succeeded in making EJ at least a semi-acceptable character, are they now going to change that?

My theory is (and I might be all wrong) they are doing it a lot like they did Jack - slowly. I think some of the things we see EJ do are to make it look one way and it will be another. Plus, most people, unless they go through something so dramatic it is life altering, do change slowly - not all at once. I think that is more realistic.

Right now, I don't care what story they tell as long as they tell it well. I think the future of the show depends on fan support. I'm really trying hard to be positive and give it the support. I can always quit watching - but I don't want it cancelled.

I personally think it's back and more interesting than it's been in years.
