January 18, 2007: Finally, Good News!

Huzzah! TV Guide's own Matt Mitovich is reporting that ABC has dealt with whatever issues were preventing them from airing Day Break online, and have announced that they now have a schedule:

Episodes 101 through 107: Jan. 29
Episodes 108-110: by Jan. 29
Episode 111: Feb. 5
Episode 112: Feb. 11
Episode 113: Feb. 19

I'm not exactly clear on what the difference is between episodes arriving January 29th or by January 29th, since 107 would be the first unaired (i.e. new to us) episode, and I would hope ABC would have the sense to post it before episodes 108-110 go up. Either way, at least things are moving forward.

Also, I'm going to finish out these reviews in as timely a manner as possible, but if three or four new episodes are available on the same day, I probably won't be able to get to them all at once (especially since they go online on Mondays). Right now I'm hoping to keep to a twice-a-week or so schedule; just letting you know.

HOORAY!! Such good news!! Hopefully our refusal to let the show die will convince a few others to go the website and check the show out!! I'm really looking to forward to seeing how the rest of the day plays out!

Thanks to TPTB at TV Guide for letting Jack continue to blog the show, and thanks to Matt Mitovich and Mike Ausiello for following up for us! You all rock!

That is good news. At least they are coming out before the end of February. I may have to watch the eps over again because my memory is fading. So a week and a half before new eps. Good stuff.

Thank you for looking out for the fans, I still don't understand why ABC can't air the remaining episodes on one of its sister stations, at least I can read what happens here since I don't have broadband access at home!

Wonderful! I can't wait to hear this music that was sooooo important it had to delay these episodes for a month. It better be freakin euphoric to mine ears.

Yeah! I guess ABC got tired of all the mail about their many broken promises. I'm glad they are finally making good on one of them. I'm so happy I'll know about the end of this day!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Finally some good news on Day Break. I know I wrote in and signed the email petition posted by one of the other loyal Day Break fans. I hope they send it in as promised so maybe ABC won't be so quick to dismiss fans of any of their shows.

I can't wait to see how the day ends either! Woo hoo!

Dear Jack,
thank you very much for sharing these news with us!
This sounds very good (I only wonder why episode seven isnt't listed as an unaired episode and episode ten isn't listed for a January 29 release at http://abc.go.com/primetime/daybreak/ the way episodes seven to nine are?)!
I cannot wait for the new stuff!
OK, but what about the DVD-set and more official podcasts?
Please do keep us posted!
Love,
Mick

Great news! Thanks to Matt and Michael for their dogged pursuit of the truth - and to Jack, too, for convincing his tvguide.com boss to let him finish blogging on the show - we didn't get that with Kidnapped, but the loyal viewers there had much to talk about on our own.

Looking forward to talking with all of you about the upcoming episodes - and I agree with whomever said the music better be out of this world for it to have taken this long ...

Does anyone knows if the episodes go all the way to the end of the story? are we going to understand anything by the end? I am afraid that I will watch the remaining episodes and I will feel worst that I do today, wanting more Taye Diggs!

mafalda - Day Break was always only 13 episodes with the full story told within those episodes. A second season would have seen Hopper in a new loop with a new mystery. So yes, we will get to a conclusion about who is behind the murder, the framing, etc. and then Hopper will be able to wake up to a new day.

And yes, Taye Diggs rocks - why can't someone find a vehicle that gets him the starring role AND the ratings?! Kevin Hill and Day Break are GREAT shows that didn't have great audience pull and little faith from their networks. But at least Kevin Hill got to finish an entire season - Day Break viewers are being pulled through unnecessary hoops to get the closure we were promised!
