David Caruso: Hiatus Happenings!
How does a strike-enforced temporarily unemployed tv actor spend his unexpected hiatus? Well, aside from the normal day-to-day activities, David Caruso has spent his down time to date very productively.
One day was spent at Disneyland with son, Marquez, and other family members (that would put many of us out for an additional 2 day recovery period).
Several days were spent at an exhibition by WebMasterWorld's Search and Internet Marketing Conference in Las Vegas exploring new web products for 2008.
A day or so in attendance at a year-end conference in Los Angeles, featuring a review and mixer by ContentNext, discussing video/digital entertainment options for 2008.
A couple of days in Toyko promoting the debut of CSI Miami's Seasons 3 & 4 DVD's, hobnobbing with the Kano Sisters and other Japanese entertainment dignitaries (we're not sure that Kano Sisters qualify as dignitaries). Perhaps celebrities is a better fit.
Several appearances on the picket lines at CBS Studios in Los Angeles in continued support of the striking writers.
Since CSI Miami didn't actually close down activities until Friday, December 14th, we presume David spent a considerable length of time cleaning up odds and ends there, along with setting up proposed schedules to take effect when work resumes.
Now, with the holidays fast approaching, we presume David Caruso and family are either in or enroute to Miami for a warmer Christmas than we and many others will spend.
It's interesting to note that those of us who are forced to spend several months digging out and burrowing in always say we're looking for a white Christmas. However, we've never heard anyone in Florida or any Southern clime complain that they miss the snow and cold of the holidays.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO DAVID CARUSO, THE CAST AND CREW OF CSI MIAMI, AND ALL THE STRIKING WRITERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

Nice little write-up for a favorite during hiatus. I'm surprised more haven't done it. Also, loved your Carlin piece in the other blog. HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON! STAY WARM!

I have to agree Dojo--nice write up here and thanks for the musings of George Carlin (a personal favorite). Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Unemployed actor... I like that in connection with Caruso. After all it is nothing new for him...LOL
Since it was a promotional trip to Tokyo he got paid for it- no big deal. He just did what was expected of him. We all know how Caruso loves it to be in the limelight.
As for WebMastersWorld and Pubcom - it is always clever to look for new ways to make mony. Especially for someone like him. Oddly enough he even asked people to take photos with him. Can we say big ego?
Since other TV celebs appeared at the picket lines as well - no big deal either. After all, he had some time to kill.

As usual, you choose to misinterpret. Dojo's intent was simply to show how one actor was using his off time productively. No horns, no kuddos, no graffiti; just a statement of fact.
Can't you just let it be that?

"I'm just stating my opinion too. Like it or not. Whatever Caruso did it was what could be expected of him. Nothing more or less." Your opinion has no value, nor does mine, or dojo's, etc. This is, AGAIN, simply a list of some of the things David's done during hiatus. It has nothing at all to do with what is or is not expected of him. The point, which you insist on missing entirely, is that the hiatus gave David, and other actors, some time to do some things they maybe have been putting off due to time constraints. There's no need to try to make it more than it is or was intended to be.

If you don't want comments don't post a topic. And if what Caruso has done in the past few weeks is very productively is solely in the eye of the beholder.

"If you don't want comments don't post a topic. And if what Caruso has done in the past few weeks is very productively is solely in the eye of the beholder." Cheekyb DID NOT post a topic; I did. Your comment is not relevant to the topic at hand. Try again, please.

Not relevant to the topic?Says WHO?
Anyway. Nothing you listed stands out or is extraordinaire. We all know he loves posing and being the center of attention - in public or private. Every "happening" listed above is nothing special. However, I do love the term "unemployed actor". Must sound familiar for Caruso.

Says Dojo, since it was her topic. Again, as has been said several times, the entire point of the piece is that David has been doing EVERYDAY THINGS. (as in, do you comprehend what you read AT ALL?) And, you're right, the happenings are nothing special. So, your comments about "extraordinaire", "center of attention" and "posing" are completely 'off topic'.

Since Caruso posed at the PubCom and in Tokyo (of course) I think it is relevant. Since posing is all he ever does. He can't pass a camera without posing. Believe it or not, Christmas in Miami is rather boring. (Been there , done that) It is just good old Christmas without snow.

Sad to say, most of the "opinions", "views" or "comments" you post are never relevant. Rather, the only one that finds it relevant is yourself. Nice to see, that even a few days before Christmas, you feel the need to be unpleasant. Must be a gift.

If you say so. I peg to differ. Posing is part of Caruso's job - it is the thing he gets paid for. After all all actors are posers, or not? Christmas is way over-rated. Next Wednesday it is all over again.

Wow! I wasn't referring to the day--I was referring to the spirit of Christmas--something you are seriously lacking. Like I said before, must be a gift.
