This Monday
Hi everyone!
I'll be in a warmer climate next week, so the write-up up for Monday's episode (December 11) will appear on Friday. Until then, feel free to discuss here. Plot holes, Horatio's ticks, Calleigh's lipstick... it's all fair game.
Enjoy.
Update: Morning, everyone! Unfortunately, my writeup will have to be postponed again until tomorrow, as my flight into Philadelphia was massively delayed last night. It'll be up by noon on Saturday.

I don't watch this show this year because of David Caruso's worsening acting "skills", but I was suckered in by the promos all week. I lasted 15 minutes max. What is with that acting style???? He totally ruins the show for me.

I used to feel that way about Caruso but now that I've let myself watch the show more often I've come to love it. It's an enjoyable hour of television and I think Horatio is like the Hero we all want to think might be out there somewhere.
As to tonight's episode - it wasn't one of my favorites only because the terrorist lady annoyed the heck out of me and I wanted her boat to blow up at the end and it didn't. But H is ok in my book. Calleigh looked particularly pretty in tonight's ep. I like her in red. Nothing spectacular but another enjoyable ep. Definitely didn't live up to the promos but I was happy it was a new ep and not a repeat. I also liked the way the court room scene was lit up. Can't beat CSI:M for it's look. Love the colors.

Well it was an OK episode and while I agree that I wished the woman's boat would blow up I am glad it didn't b/c that would have been predictable. Also you just know she will be back.
I like that Ryan got his come uppance for trying to be all cute on camera- overspraying the shirt and ruining the DNA. I don't care what he said to Natalia about this being a way to get good publicity for the department. It may have been true and yes the Mayor made it an order but Ryan also saw an opportunity to do a little brown nosing for himself. So it was good that he got shot down. He needs to be more careful w/the media any way. I would think he would have a once bitten, twice shy attitude after that blonde reporter burned him.
And what is happening w/Rob Estes character? He asked Valera out but we never saw the date. Hello!!

Anyone believe they would bond out someone so absolutely in violation of the Patriot Act? Ryan sucks anyway, but the irritating camera guy needs a knock in the head.
I thought the boat belonged to the guy who's family was kidnapped. Since it pulled away from the dock with the girl on it, I guess not. I, too, was expecting an explosion. The beauty of this show outweighs its obvious lack of acting prowess.

Please - Horatio is not or will never be the hero that we all want to be!! David Caruso is ruining this show - watch an episode from the first season and it will only take a couple of scenes to determine that something drastic has changed with his style and it is not a good thing!!!
I like the flash and science of the show but that's where it ends.
If you get a chance to watch Dinner For Five on IFC they had David Milch on who was the developer of NYPD Blue back during Caruso's start as an actor. Caruso started screaming about the terrible script, and Milch started having a heart-attack. He would not let anyone know about his attack until after he and Caruso had it out - then he went to the hospital. Milch said that there was no way that he would ever let Caruso know that he had any affect on him!!
If Caruso would just look at someone he talks to it would really help things out!!

Don't be so hard on David Caruso. His character is supposed to be quiet, solid, and dependable. Also I like the way he repeats everything just in case you missed it the first time.
Quiet, solid, and dependable, Mr. Wolf.
Quiet, solid, and dependable.

I totally agree that Caruso totally ruins this show. I used to just get over it and watch the show anyway, but this season I jumped at the opportunity to watch something else during that timeslot - I am so glad I did. Catching last night's episode (cause the other show was on rerun) confirmed that I had made the right decision. The show would be good without him. soooo over the top, who speaks like that? does he have to remove his sunglasses every time he says something important?

Funny, I can't stand David Caruso either, yet I come back every week for his over the top campy acting. I would not miss it for the world. He's so bad he's great.

I don't think that Valera had a problem being filmed. I just think she didn't want to tell Ryan how badly he messed up in front of the camera guy.

Thanks IliketowatchTV, for admitting you watch this show just to be amused by Caruso. Last time I did this someone got mad about it and told me to go watch comedy if I wanted amusing TV. But WHY? This is so much funnier. I am glad to know that I also am not the only one who thinks Ryan is a jerk. It reminds me of 70's cop shows and their horrible writing-like Starsky and Hutch, only flashier, and with cooler cinematograpy and skankier women. And I can't wait til Homeland Security begs H to help them save the entire state of Florida - that HAS to be what's coming next.
