CSI Miami - Sunglass-guy gets shot
A season finale ought to be interesting. A season finale ought to keep the viewer on edge. Like we said - IT OUGHT TO BE and with GOOD SHOWS it is the case. Not so with CSI Miami. Instead episode "Going Ballistic" was another prime example of bad writing/bad acting.
The BEST THING first. It looks like Super H, mass-murdering, suspect beating HoCaine is DEAD like Disco. (We can't help but GRIN) YUP. We are left with that most wonderful image until September finally comes around.
As always, a few things we like to point out: 1) Why bother with a new coroner at all if she gets shot within a few minutes after her first appearance? "She's gone." Really? How did you figure? Who writes those lines? Caruso?
2) Calleigh and Eric - Looks like both got a room and did it - finally. It was about time. However, we do wonder where this leaves Jake. Calleighs beau during this more than abmysal season.
3) Ryan Wolfe (or HoCaineJr like we like to call him) has turned into a "dirty CSI in pastel". However, it seems a huge stretch of the imagination to have tomboy Ryan Wolffe ordering a hit on HoCaine. We like the character and actor. However, the wardrobe department seems to beg to differ. No more pastels for Wolfe. PLEASE.
4) Eric's bad luck seems to continue. Again he was only inches from being shot. Give the boy a break already.
5) Personally, we think JULIA or KYLE shot HoCaine. That would account for HoCaines shocked expression on his face.
Not outstanding, not even brilliant. Very predictable and a so-so final episode for a bad season. To be continued in....season 7

Give the guy a break, great ending. It will be a long summer, when Horatio comes back (all of US we be there watching) It's going to be Miami Style...

Well, I wasn't too ecstatic about. Too predictable. No big surprises. Not much of a cliffhanger.

horatiolover - are you a one-trick pony or are you obsessive/compulsive? I do not understand why you constantly blog negatively about this show. What's the appeal? What's the point? Please explain.

Well, I'm just pointing out what was bad/laughable in the last episode. Perfectly okay. Honestly, you can't call "Going Ballistic" great or even good. The could have done the last scene (at the tarmac) a lot better.
There are some who find only positive things to write about. Then there are others who like to point out the mistakes and short-comings. There are a lot out there who like to snark about the show. Different people, different opinions. And if you look outside a fan-board you will find many sites that think the finale was lame. If I see a REALLY GOOD episode, with REALLY GOOD ACTING and REALLY GOOD WRITING I'll be the first person to write about. However, I haven't seen one during this past season, My articles reflect mainly the way I see the show. That you disagree with it, is unfortunate but...

My guess is this is a set up by HO-Caine and HO-Caine JR is in on it! I just hope they finally get rid of Elizabeth (Showgirl) Berkley. The acting of recent years has gotten bad enough. And to those of you who hate this show, if it weren't for the advertising revenues in South America, this show would have been done 3 seasons ago!

Agreed. On everything you said. After season 3 the show went downhill.
HoCaine stood at the tarmac with a"shot me"-sign tucked to his forhead. Elizabeth Berkley is the female equivalent to David Caruso. Both are ridiculously BAD BAD actors.

OMG they shot the sunglasses! LOL.
Seriously, there are no prospects for David Caruso outside this show...

After viewing the episode from Monday, here are my predicted spoliers for the new season.
1. Horatio gets off the plane, after making sure his family is safely aboard.
2. Julia left to run an errand to have the marriage to Ron anulled.
3. Hoartio text messaged Mr. Wolfe to let him know the family was safe, due to him being the only one he could count on the help him get the family to saftey..Eric is recovering from a gunshot, Callie is working on the M.E. shooting and Boa Vista not be trustworthy. Therefore the message "It's Done".
4. Ron shoots Horatio, not only out of anger for him, but beacause Julia anulled the marriage before he could lays his hands on her money.
Probably way off, but you never know.

Great suggestions. However, I'm not too sure about Julia or her role in the whole mess. She is the big "X". I wish they would give her character more depth. Julia or Kyle shot Horatio. Declared "Officially dead" Ron Saris - who wanted to see him dead - would be satisfied. Wolfe gets orders from HoCaine to proceed according to plan.... Anyway, I found it extremely musing how HoCaine took his time to take off his SOJ's before he got shot. They couldn't have made it more obvious. And they could have put a bit more effort into the scene when HoCaine gets shot..the birds-eye view doesn't do it. We expected something like shown in the previews.

We would like to mention Kristine Huntley's recent review on this episode. While we may not agree with her take on other things he would like to point out we most certainly agree with her take on HoCaine/Kyle/Julia in the final episode. Too mushy.Neither fish nor flesh. We do hope they develop Julia's character a bit further in the up-comming season - better abandon it at all.

I love this show.It is so campy you can't watch it as a serious drama. I think the reason H looked so surprised when he got shot because even with shaking hands he couldn't reach his sunglasses.

We call CSI Miami the "CBS' 10.00 pm-comedy". And for a good reason...LOL. The acting is bad. The scripts is bad, the editing is bad. HoCaine and his SOJ's are pure comedy-gold.

Let's hope they come up with a good solution to the small "cliffhanger" they left in season 6 - not that it was a big one. Otherwise, it is time to shout "JUMP THE SHARK"!
