CSI Miami: Where Do They Stand Now?

PhotobucketAfter seeing from a few disenchanted viewers that ONLY CSI Miami has lost viewers over the years, we decided to check out the CSI franchise in general. We checked other dramas also, but won't post those here. With one exception, that of NCIS, every procedural drama we checked saw their viewers drop in numbers and in ratings. We suspect this is due to the current invasion of the under-budget realities and primetime game shows and their general acceptance by the 18-49 demographic group.

We all knew that, almost, but it helps to have it shown. The networks know that, too. That's why we get the most ridiculous realities. Our tv, it is a-changing.

Almost all is right. It's good to see it in print sometimes, to realize exactly what the trend is.

I'm afraid the same result would happen if you posted the numbers of any drama more than 3 years old. It seems they start slow, build up, peak, and begin to drop back. That all three of the CSI's usually are in the Top 20 is a credit to all involved.

That's the natural progression for these shows. Very tough to avoid that entrapment.

The ratings show -
CSI Miami at #11 with 17.1 million viewers in 2006-07 Season; #8 with 14.01 viewers in 2007-08.

CSI ranked #5 with 20 million viewers in 2006-07; still #5 in 07-08 but with 18 million

CSI NY placed #28 with 11.7 million viewers in 06-07; then #23 with 11.3 million in 07-08.

Like the nose on your face.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention. It points up what we've been saying for quite some time. The nets know this; it's a huge problem.

I can't help but wonder how NCIS has remained outside the trend.

I've wondered about this also. While it remains an "always try to watch" for me, it gets stale after a while.

I see Heidi is manipulating again today.

Oh, yes, she's been at it since 3:00 or so, once she had finished manipulating Zimbio. She has her routine.

Hopefully, she's done enough damage for today.
