CSI Miami: Solid Showings!
CSI Miami's airing of "Tunnel Vision" last week placed them in a solid #9 position in the ratings, with a 9.2/15 audience share, and 13.88 million viewers.
This week's "Rock and a Hard Place", with ratings not complete, had 13.86 million viewers, the highest for Monday night with the exception of DWTS. Their 18-49 demo didn't fare quite so well, falling behind House, 2 1/2 Men and DWTS. It's painfully obvious that CSI Miami's Powers That Be are attempting to rectify that, without much success as of now.
The strike caused a substantial decline in viewers of all scripted procedural dramas, though the numbers seem to have improved with the new episodes. Perhaps by fall season premieres they will have recouped their loss.
"Is season 6 going to be the "Swan Song" for the weakest child of the franchise?" This comment would be strange from any other blogger on it's face, since CSI Miami regularly falls in the middle, between CSI and CSI NY. However, we consider the source and let the readers see for themselves.
We see every day the tendency away from households ruled by primetime and toward television on demand. Each year, we suspect, will show a continuing decline in primetime viewing, rendering these Primetime Ratings virtually meaningless. For the time being, however, they are still determining who will swim and who will sink.
We remain concerned that these dynamics could take yet anothe dive if SAG and the studios don't reach an agreement prior to their June 30th contract expiration, thus delaying filming starts for the '08-'09 season.

And some people like to put their jaded and twisted spin on things because it suits them. Go figure. Normal people prefer Dojo's outlook.

How bizarre, any show on the bottom with no ratings to speak of usually is cancelled. It is extremely rare to find a show in the top 10 classified as "poor" in any one's book. And it is highly doubtful such a show will cease to exist. Indeed Dojo, solid ratings.

How bizarre indeed to speak of "solid ratings". Especially if the show had much better ratings in earlier seasons. Being stuck on position 8-10 (in contrast to powerhouse CSI) is "doing poor" in MY BOOK.

You know PatMc--you are quite right. Saying a show in the top ten is considered "poor" really doesn't make sense at all. Considering all of the TV shows have lost ratings due to the strike, etc. it is a common occurrence across the board on all shows. How sad to have such a dismal outlook on things that trashing or attempting to create a problem that simply doesn't exist is the highlight of one's existence.

Hey EmilyDu--couldn't agree with you more. Dismal is as dismal does. By the way, did you see the post yesterday in the Community Blogs about how to use the "ignore member" button? What a freaking great idea--makes holding a discussion easy to do! Happy, happy, joy, joy!

First thing I did after reading the post was to click that button. Now, it's just like hearing the waves breaking on the shore. Can't see it to read it--pure, unadulterated, peaceful quiet.

Afraid of a differing opinions? LOL. That is what I thought all along. Anyway, poor ratings for a poor show.

It's a shame people do not know how to behave around other people and let everyone have their own view of things. I guess that's too much to ask--most normal people behave accordingly.

Ahhh--keyword is normal. Besides, the constant harping and negative rants just shows the obsessive nature of what stalkers are capable of. Whatever--have to admit--not missing the aggravation or the rudeness.

Well, let's start with letting ME have MY VIEW of things which is that CSI Miami is doing poorly? Because it is doing poorly. I wonder if it is the script or David Caruso's bland acting or both? I suspect ratings will even go down. Like it or not..
