CSI Miami: Incidental Wedding!
Lest viewers may have forgotten the best and worst of CSI Miami, the flash and splash of Miami's elite set the tone with a glitzy 'almost' wedding, obviously a setup for the rest of the episode. Not an all bad beginning to the first new CSI Miami post-strike episode, "Now You May Kill The Bride", which aired tonight. The lawn setting, 1.8M diamond-studded veil, beautiful bride, $360K limo; all the trappings of a garish, yet typical, Miami-style celebrity affair. David Caruso flamers will bemoan Horatio's solitary walk prior to the opening credits; I thought it was appropriate to the theme, interspersed with back and white flashbacks to the murder. The story was doable, showing off all the regulars at their best: Horatio in his ever present angst, Calleigh (Emily Procter)happily in control, Eric (Adam Rodriguez) being hit on at the strip club, Ryan (Jon Togo) a little snarky. Frank's (Rex Linn) Yul Brynner look has been modified; Alexx (Khandi Alexander) and Natalia (Eva LaRue doing great. No surprises here. Fans will calm down now that Horatio and Calleigh have had a couple of scenes together; Calleigh threatening Eric to silence when she dons the veil for a reenactment. Apologies to all the guys; the ladies were all less exposed in this outing, more professional looking, though Horatio's dark striped shirts were apparently breeding during hiatus. The shooting was somewhat reminiscent of Oscar's murder in "Chain Reaction" only in that both were triggered remotely. Even I, who prefers mystery to the end, targeted the killer within a few minutes.
Cast members all had that 'glad to be back to work' look about them; rested, excited, enjoying themselves. After a 3 month drought, I wasn't very discriminating; my intent was to just enjoy the episode. That I did.

Nice one, Jav. I enjoyed it, also. I especially liked your "shirts breeding during hiatus" line. Might have occasion to steal that one.

I also enjoyed this episode. All the ingredients were there. It was obvious tptb wanted to spotlight all the regular cast at their best rather than concentrate on a central figure. The writers and cast did their jobs well. The story held up for the most part.

Yes it wasn't a bad episode overall. I was eagerly waiting for H's corny oneliner in the beginning so I was somewhat disapointed about that. I figured the pictures would have been of the ball player shooting up, having sex with animals, killing people... you know something shocking and crazy! But apparently not. Callie was pretty funny in showing them off.. I especially like the fishnet! Ha!! Can't wait for the 2 parter next week.. they look pretty cool!

Excellent episode in all respects. Hey, h'lover, no matter how many times you repeat it, or in how many places, we all get it and, big surprise, we don't care. Your opinion is biased, twisted, and unacceptable on every mature level. Even those who basically may agree with you disclaim your presentation.

Well, it's MY opinion - and frankly that is ALL that matters (to me).
Anyway, I just have read that I'm not the only one thinking that the episode was not only lame but bordering on the ridiculous. Frankly, I expected more than just a half-baked episode like this. Wasn't Tripp supposed to be kidnapped and tied up? Continuity never has been a strong point when it comes to CSI Miami, right. And the "big secret" of the dude that got blackmailed: - He was a cross-dresser. Big deal. I expected something more juicier. Like I said it only can get better.

Well, yeah--everyone KNOWS it's YOUR opinion, and that fact is ALL that matters (to you). So why keep telling us? Point taken. Case closed. Horse beaten to death. I don't even have to see any of your posts to know what they are going to say--and before you tell me not to read them--well, I sure don't read your blogs--but YOU come HERE to spread your usual rants. This is the only way you have to spread the venom--no one is bothering to post on your blogs--gee, wonder why?

What an insipid comment, "I'm not the only one...". Of course not; in a real world, there are always varying degrees of merit or not. An opinion expressed requires someone who's listening. You lack that basic ingredient. Nobody is there to hear (or read) you. What were you watching that ever suggested Tripp was kidnapped OR tied up? We all realize only the most salacious would satisfy you. Mainstream network tv, which is somewhat censored, will never provide you the trashy low you require. Lastly, we EXPECT the "same schtick, different day" and you never let us down. On Topic - Good episode; Good review.

Haha - Well said!
The day that horatiolover says anything good about Horatio or CSI Miami is the day I win the lottery!

An opinion expressed requires someone who's listening. ....Yawn, Same old preaching.
Anyway, agree or not a lame episode. One would have thought that after the long hiatus they would come up with something better. I remember that in episode "Raising Caine" something was happening to Tripp. But continuity never has been a strong point with CSI Miami. Caruso's attempt to be emotional was like watching paint dry. A student out of acting school could have done better. Like I said, it only can get better.
