CSI has New Writers/Producers!

CSIThis could provide some interesting new developments. David Weddle and Bradley Thompson have been hired as writers and supervising producers for CSI this upcoming season.
Both Weddle and Thompson started writing for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and most recently were with Battlestar Galactica.
Can we expect CSI to veer off in a sci-fi direction next year? Las Vegas has always had more than their share of space cadets. It should be a match made in heaven.

From which field of interest they come from doesn´t matter . They are WAY BETTER than the writers of CSI Miami. But then CSI is a way better show - better actors, better scripts, better producers.

Leave it to The Carbuncle to turn every site into a "bash Miami" op.

Well, it is the TRUTH. CSI got the BETTER LEAD, the BETTER WRITERS and the BETTER SCRIPTS. After all, CSI is the most wtached show now - and rightfully so. Caruso/CSi Miami - has been going downhill since season 4.

Can I assume The Carbuncle's comments have no bearing on the topic at hand? I'd guess she knows nothing about Weddle and Thompson.

An ape could write the scripts for CSI and they still would be better than the scripts for CSI Miami.
CSI is the most watched show and it is well deserved. The new writers will undoubtly add a new flavour to the great show...CSI Miami could do with a new set of writers as well...

CSI Miami has been going downhill since Speed left. That's when it became all Horatio angst, all the time. Sure we got the Delko angst for a while, but even that got turned around so it was all about Horatio. Same thing happened with Ryan's angst...

The prob with that show is that it isn't about the crime scene investigation at all... its about Horatio, or and Horatio's view on the scene.

The good thing about CSI is that the characters all seem to get an equal amount of face time, but their stories are intricately woven into the story about the crime they are investigating. They investigate something and in the process we learn a little more about them as people. I respect that. It is a sign of good writing. Okay, I do think they got off topic a bit with the whole GSR thing, but that was mainly because I have never been a fan of the Sara character so any little bit of attention paid to her annoyed me. Still, it was there and only occasionally in your face.

I hope that these new writer/producers can keep up with writing about the crime first and the characters a very close second.

I agree. I think that is one f the "secrets of CSI´s success". The cast members are not only excellent actors they are alloted equal screen time - which allows them to shine.

That doesn´t happen with CSI Miami. Caruso takes up 80 precent of the screentime with his ridiculously wooden acting. There isn´t room for anything else. Speedle´s death was a typical "Jump the Shark"-moment for CSI Miami.

I´m sure the new writers will keep CSI on top where it belongs. Great show. Great actors. Great scripts. I´m looking forward to the new season.I know it´s going to be great.
Caruso take heed and watch how it is done!

CSI is the best of the whole franchise. It tops the other two shows by far.
