No more CSI Blog??

As far as I can tell, I am pretty sure that CSI is no longer a weekly bog done by TV Guide. I noticed this morning it is off the list on the side of current episode blogs.
So why not do our own? Or at least some commentary?

I unfortunately missed the first 5 minutes of last night episode but came in with Warrick arguing on his cell with Tina. That doesn't sound too good; he then proceeds to be reprimanded by Grissom for being late to his shift.
Poor Warrick doesn't look like he has it all together, his shirt is not button properly and he looks a bit rounder (which we see later on).
Warrick sorts through a blast from the past in the Garbage truck where the dead guy was found, old newspapers dated in the 80's and a Van Halen record. They discover that the garbage truck is actually from the 80's, originally painted orange belonging to a now defunct garbage business run by a now deceased mobster (surprise!)
It eventually turns out that the first dead guy (Jason) is the son of that deceased mobster that was 'wacked', his mother and him went in to witness protection but stayed in the same city who was later killed by a retired (?) cop that was a 'friend' of Jason's father who now works for another mobster Pegrelle, who also worked for Jason's father, who now owns a strip club off the strip.

Seems some what convoluted to me and a lot of information all at one time.

Warrick goes to investigate the strip club and owner and discover that a lot of bad things still happen there and nothing much happens with the police about it. He also meets a stripper and a bum (undercover cop maybe??) whom he somewhat interrogates.
He later follows the stripper to another restaurant and engages her in conversation and other 'things' back at a hotel. After waking up Warrick returns to his car to discover it a crime scene with the dead stripper hanging out of it.

Now I know it is an abbreviated summary but I have some issues with this episode.
What the hell happened to Warrick?? He is taking uppers, downers, attempting to illegally enter cars, snooping around property, yelling at the Sheriff (never a good move!), drinking and having sex with an employee of a mobster being investigated for murder, among other things.
Plus Nick yells at him at the lab about pills?

Did I miss something? I know the writers like to keep the private lives in the background, but we needed some more notice then having it all dumped on us.
I found personally a lot of this episode was disjointed and moving far too quickly. I really hope they are able to close these cases properly next week!
Let me know what you think!

AGREED! AGREED!
This episode was ridiculously disjointed and poorly written!
The exchange between Nick and Warrick was forced and did not work.
WTF?
If they are going to bring Warrick down due to personal problems -- pills, divorce, infidelity...
then give us some lead time and don't dump all this on us in one episode that really did not play well at all.

...Thank you, indy500; yes, I'd like to comment on the CSI episodes here; I'm not good for posting recaps, but I'll be glad to be able to comment on them...so, indy500, if you've seen William Friedkin directed movies, I gather you did not like his directing for this episode? I agree with you though; the confrontation with Nick seemed kind of forced and, regarding his physical appearance, I didn't think he looked, you know, a little overweight but he did look very haggard, like he has been troguh a lot...by the way, I posted a Jeer on Cheers&Jeers, to TVGuide, for dropping the CSI blog without any explanation...

I agree!! This episode seemed VERY strange to me. I knew Warrick was supposed to start spiraling downward and from Sara's last episode, we saw he was taking some kind of meds. However, so much seemed sprung on us all at once. I thought the 'hotel scene' was completely out of CSI's charater. I mean, first of all, it was all white and strange looking, then with everything else, it seemed too much. This seemed too much like the episode "Boom" in the first season where Nick slept with Kristy and was accused of murder...

Thank you everybody for your response!
I will do my best to keep a blog, but it may end up being more of a response to the episode itself.

Unfortunately I haven't seen much of William Friedkin's work, only the Exorcist and Rules of Engagement.
He did a good job with Coakroaches; it was just such a deviation from the norm for CSI that it was hard to take in. CSI is my all time fav show; I can sit there and watch the Spike reruns for hours.
Plus with Warrick’s whole dilemma, like tmp1966 said, it was dumped on us.
Warrick's divorce was mentioned in the episode where the 5 showgirls were murdered in their house, in a small passing comment. There were no hints or building up to this moment.
Maybe Sara leaving was the straw that broke the camel's back? It would make more sense I think, if that were the case.
I didn't think Warrick looked overweight! The last time I remember seeing him without his shirt, he had rippling muscles and a 6 pack! :-x But he is still in great shape!!

At least with Nick and Kristy, there was some previous episode history...

Thanks again guys for reading and commenting!

Suggestion: if you haven't seen To Live and Die in LA, directed by William Friedkin and starring William Petersen, rent or, better yet, buy the DVD and enjoy! Don't pay a whole lot of attention to the problems with the plot, just relax and go with the flow. The director's commentary is quite interesting, as is the Counterfit World "making-of" extra. Then go back and re-evaluate Cockroaches -- it's pure Friedkin and I'd love to have been in the room when Standards & Practices was watching it for the first time. I'll bet you could have stocked a good-sized pet store with the litters of kittens they were having. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am really looking forward to the continuation this week.
