Lame!

What an awful let down this show was! Lonesome Dove was so much more authentic and real life. Who ever heard of a violent parrot and jaguars in Texas. I rather doubt the bear even!

I enjoyed the show. I liked the actors and the way they portrayed the characters. I hated to see it end. Newton (Newt) standing in the street waiting for the Rangers to return. I think some of the animal stuff was Comanche folklore blended into the story. When they found Cynthia Ann Parker I was surprised. If you don't know the true story of Cynthia Ann Parker you should find some info and read it. Very sad story. She was the mother of the great war chief Quannah Parker who eventually signed a peace treaty with the US. I saw a picture of her after she was rescued but she sure didn't look as good as the girl they rescued. But what the hey. I still thought it was a good show.

I enjoyed the heck out of it. If you were to go back and watch Lonesome Dove, there were many parts of it that many people today could call "lame". I loved Lonesome Dove and I really enjoyed Comanchee Moon. I agree that it wasn't as engaging as the original but sequels rarily are!

I am a sucker for most westerns and I enjoyed this one. Not as good as Lonesome Dove but that was a true classic.

It was ok but it seemed to skip a lot between pt 2 and pt 3. Pt 2 ended with Clara slapping McRae. Pt 3 starts with McRae mourning the death of Nellie. WHO was Nellie and when did they get married and also in pt 3 Scull is all of a sudden living in Boston. It's like they had too much on the "cutting room floor" to fit it in the time slot which left a lot out of the story line!

I agree. That was possibly the worst mini-series I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. A total waste of time.
Unresolved at the end, with huge plot gaps throughout left me wondering about the writing abilities of Mr. McMurtry. The performance by the lead actors was terrible and Karl Urban has to be the most deadpan actor of all time. How sad that the western has fallen this far. It's no wonder the genre is almost dead.
Very bad.

Comanche Moon was not lame. In order for that drivel to be lame, it must have a story, then some actors with marginal competence and, finally, a credibility factor above that of a new born baby's.
Skipping the madness of the parrot etc. doesn't anyone have a horse that doesn't look like it's on it's way to the glue factory? Borrow mine, if you have to, Hollywood.
With the enviroment in the state it's in, shouldn't we be harnessing the energy of John Wayne spinning in his grave and not airing this garbage.
