March 5, 2007: It's Time to Get Berrylicious
Relationships are so tangled in this episode, I don't know where to begin. How about Nicole and Adam! Wow. When I saw Nicole in bed, I knew it was him. After learning that Jamie really is gay and seeing Adam get rejected twice and then watching them share a clumsy and off-key karaoke performance together — singing out their misery — I figured it was only a number of drinks and a matter of time before they'd satisfy each other's frustrations. It sounded like Jamie was confused for a minute, but it's pretty clear who he's romantically interested in. It was a little weird seeing Ivy and Nicole hanging out alone, but I really like Ivy. I think she's been a great addition to this show, and she's been a good friend — trying to avoid Nicole seeing Jamie cozy up to another man (although, it wasn't that good of a job considering she was staring directly at them).
And before their rendezvous, Adam had completely gone nuts. Who would think to fire off marshmallows, of all things, as a way to release some pent-up sexual frustration? It was hilarious when his boss brought up his vow of celibacy. "Tonight, I want you to get laid." He can't have any distracted partners on his team. I was cracking up during dinner when Adam actually coughed up the word "toast" to get some help impressing Stephanie, and then when it didn't work, calling Brian a bad wingman.
Speaking of Brian… he was down to 15 minutes in the sack and completely disconnected to his girlfriend. He seems to attract all the attention, which usually gets him in trouble, and this time proved to be no exception. Enter Stephanie dressed as a cowgirl. She couldn't have been anymore straightforward when they were rehearsing the presentation, but I'm glad he turned her down. I felt bad for Bridget this week. She was really putting an effort into getting their groove back and she was kind of pushed to the back burner. She's too fed up, going with her gut and never looking back. "I feel like I live in a dorm room." Laura studying outside so Stephanie could hook up with one of the Japanese guys was very dorm room, if you ask me. Is this the beginning of Laura and Brian? Or will he try to get Bridget back? By the way, are bean-bag chairs really filled with Styrofoam peanuts?
Dave and Deena's story line was bittersweet. I loved how their older daughter figured out that they were talking to each other on the phone — gave her a little bit of hope. When they went out to dinner, Deena's college story seemed like something Dave would have said, so it was good to hear it from her for a change. But I think Dave's shy expression while she was telling it was even better. I knew it couldn't be the perfect first date, so although it was heartbreaking to see them at the hospital with Carrie, it didn't surprise me that something so traumatic would interrupt. I guess it's better, though, because it would be too awkward if they went back to their old life immediately. Deena's persistence about Carrie being able to hear rebuilt that wall between her and Dave, but then I guess we wouldn't have seen him make such a sensitive move later that night. I'm still loving Tiffani Thiessen as the boss who just won't quit. When Gary was freaking out about getting fired, I was cracking up at her laid-back expressions. It's hard getting attached to guest stars, because you know they're eventually leaving, but they definitely provide needed twists to the show. Overall, things seem messy after this episode. I think the negatives outweighed the funny moments this week, but hopefully our quirky friends will iron things out next time. Or even better (for us viewers at least), surround themselves with still more chaos.

I really liked this episode.
Let me start off with Adam and Nic. I was kinda excited a little about the two of them. I almost think they could work as a couple, even though it'd be a bit awkward with Brian at first - being the best friend and the brother. But, honestly, I think they could possibly work.
Brian and Bridget - I am a little sad to see Bridget call things off. But, in the long run, she is right - they wouldn't have made it. Now what's up for Brian. The blonde or the brunette downstairs? Seeing his trail of women - I would guess Laura (they've all been brunettes). But, Stephanie has pretty much given him an open invitation to Her. I hope he doesn't get blind sided by her looks and bypass over Laura. Brian and Laura really seem to have alot in common and really connect.
Dave and Deena - they were so cute. I am so happy that Deena finally realized that Dave is the best thing that ever happened to her (excluding the kids) and that they deserved to work on them. I am glad that she apologized to Dave at the end and admitted to rushing things with Carrie.
Brian and Dave - if Brian takes this promotion - I hope that things stay good between Brian and Dave. It does suck though that Dave really wanted it so badly and Fatty Natty just completely overlooked Dave. Poor guy. And Brian who wasn't even looking for it gets it fed to him.
Looks like all of this will make for an interesting show next week! I can't wait!

Another good episode of Brian. I'm glad that Bridget is gone. She has been a whiney beeyotch since day 1 in my opinion. Loved Dave and Deena getting bac together and i agree it was nice to see Deena being nice, cuz she's usually the mean one. Love the incorporation of Ivy and Jimmy into the show on all levels. At first I felt like they were shoving Jimmy down our throats cuz he just showed up when they axe angelo but now he works. Amanda Foreman is great here too. Tiffani Theissen is fantastic as the boss, they really need to keep her in the picture if the show is back next year which i hope it is. I too see something between Brian and Laura, I hope he doesnt stray over to the blonde first though, cuz that would suck. Not sure where Nic and Adam are gonna go but it will be interesting. I also can't picture Brian in a position of authority, so him being the boss at work should also be interesting.

I see an end to Brian and Bridget soon. I really hope he will get involved with Laura not Stephanie. Aside from my irrational hatred of Blonde women I feel Stephanie is kind of shallow and I think Brian needs somone who isn't just a pretty face and nothing more while Laura is beautiful and seems intelligent as well yet also apepars to have a sense of humor and does like to have a good time. I just didn't get into the Manny character it is totally shallow of me to focus on his looks but his face had almost a skeletal look about it like the skin was just stretched over the bones and no flesh beneath that was not attractive. Puzzled about him kissing Nic if he's gay but...
Nice Dave/Deena scenes with the phone convos.Poor Carrie I wonder if she is going to be totally deaf?
Initially Jimmy & Ivy seemed to be an "afterthought" not quite part of the gang but both are fitting in nicely with the rest of the group now.
Adam and Nic hmmm...interesting hookup!

Whoa. Bridget exhausted every effort, seemed wholly reasonable in simply seeking a wee bit of focus, attention and investment from Brian. To call her to task is way out of bounds. And I'm a guy. Brian clearly isn't ready to commit, he's simply flying by the seat of his pants. Earnest he may be but that doesn't change his inability to make the emotional commitment and put in the necessary time and energy. Dave and Deena and their kids are a pretty endearing bunch. Nicole and Adam are both awfully self-absorbed; no harm done in how they've serviced each other's physical needs. The show grows on me in its realistic portrayal of relationships, the ways thirtysomething men and women really think and act (sometimes but a marginal progression from frat boy, sorority girl college days).

Think about it: Laura's in the credits, Stephanie's not. Since the original premise of the show is that Brian's the single one in the middle of a group of couples, he's getting together with Stephanie.
I hate the idea that they treated Adam like some big revelation at the end when it was far too obvious. I did like the bit at the beginning with Dave and Deena's oldest, though.
Gonna miss Bridget - the ending there was a little abrubt, especially with the reconcile in her last episode. Still, women that gorgeous (she may have burned my retinae) should stay around. Going from her to Stephanie won't be a big step down, though, if at all.

I really like Bridget and thought she was a lot prettier then Stephanie. I was really disappointed in her and Brain ending. I think she was more the patient..she told him several times she need attention. I would hate to have the girls from down stairs dropping in any time they want and every time I had plans with my boyfriend someone would drop by and I would be push to the back burner --- I do not like Stephanie...I like the other roomate. I really like Dave and do not understand Brian getting a promotion based on one presentation. I really like Jimmy & Ivy and would like them to get more attention. I think the manny is very unattractive - he is all teeth with a very very thin face. But he is a nice guy.

Please don't leave, Bridget! Maybe they can get back together next year. I hate that Brian got the promotion that Dave wanted. Dave only missed the presentation to take care of Carrie, and he got scooped. I know Brian didn't do it on purpose, but Dave will still be hurt. However, that happens! Bosses don't always reward the right people, and it will affect work relationships. Great show!

I don't know if any of you ever catch Days of our Lives, but the little girls who play Carrie play Shawn and Belle's baby Claire. Carrie is going deaf and Claire on Days now has a life-threatening blood infection. I know babies can't really "act" but those little girls break my heart and do so well w/their different "parents" on both shows. I had a baby girl last year so any baby storyline on TV makes me bawl (Grey's Anatomy kills me every week!).
Anyway, I love this show and think its improved so much from the first season. I've always been a huge Tiffani Thiessen fan so I'm thrilled she's joined the show for a little while. What About Brian makes me laugh and cry. What more could you ask for?!?

I'm with cinm. Brian was being completely insensitive to Bridget's feelings, letting those girls just walk in whenever they wanted and interrupt. I don't think I would have handled it as well as Bridget. It was like living in a dorm room. Can't blame Bridget. But that's what we all expected when they moved in together about being together only 6 weeks, then saying I love you and it's over? Weird. Stephanie is annoying.
Glad Nic and Adam could be of service to each other. I had a feeling Adam would have a hard time "getting some" when he finally relented on the whole celibacy thing.
Loved Dave and Deena. Thank you to the writers for finally making Deena someone we could like.
Also love Amanda Foreman. Her character is so much like the one she played on Felicity (minus the initial grunch look), I am half expecting Keri Russell to walk in at any moment. Now, that would be a great addition.
Again, can someone tell us what happened to Marjorie?

Does anyone know hom many episodes are left for this show? Also is it coming back next year? I haven't watched this show from the beginning and just starting watching it about a month ago and I think it is okay. I am hoping Stephanie (Stacy Keibler) comes back if there is another season. I would also love it if they could move the show to a Tuesday night as I find that to be the only night that there isn't much on TV for me to watch.

I realize the show is supposed to center around Brian, but he had four women coming after him! With Bridget and Steph out of the way, is he now down to two?
I thought Adam wasn't partner material? Isn't that what the partners said during his law firm party earlier this season? Did the vow of celibacy all of a sudden make him more qualified?
