Episode 7 Recap
I'm speechless.
Really, I don't even know what to say. I can't wait to read what all of you have to say because I'm guessing you're all in shock, too. Yes, we've already been stunned a number of times this season — when Jerry was sent home, when the Red Team let the Blue Team decide to send Phil home, when Kim cursed at David, just to name a few. But what Neil pulled off tonight — and wasn't eliminated for it — just leaves me speechless.
The show is called The Biggest Loser, right? How could someone extremely overweight come on a show to lose weight and want to win the game so bad that he's willing to pack on 17 pounds? And then to continuously deny the accusations in front of everyone, only to whisper "It wasn't supposed to be that obvious, (bleep)!" with that devious smile into the camera? I don't watch other reality competition shows like Survivor or Big Brother, but I know that plenty of this kind of conniving and dirty game playing goes on. I've just never seen it on BL in the three seasons I've watched and never really expected to.
That being said, it was a huge disappointment to see Jez sent home. He was a genuine and sweet person with the best intentions. I was really happy when he won the poker temptation game and got the power to pick teams (especially since he beat Amy — more on her later). And to see how upset and deceived Jez felt about Neil's plan and how he didn't even have any motivation to work out, it just broke my heart when the last trio voted for him. There were only three former Blue Team contestants voting so I thought for sure they were outnumbered and Neil would get the boot. But with the way the new trios were formed, Blue was spread over two groups and they actually got their wish. It should be really interesting to see how everyone else treats Neil, Kae, Ryan and Nicole next week.
Bob summed it up perfectly when yelling at Neil and his teammates: "I am so [bleep] mad I cannot even see straight now."
How come the trainers weren't at weigh-in this week? I would have loved to see Kim's face when Amy got on the scale and lost zero pounds. Not that I wish any of these contestants won’t succeed, but Amy was kind of being a brat to Kim when Kim clearly had the best intentions for her team. She was the only one who switched to a new trainer when the teams split up. It was funny that Amy thought training with Jillian would be easier — can she not hear Jillian's insane yelling in the gym?
This week's Weight Control Oatmeal product placement wasn’t as over-the-top as last week's Wrigley's Gum. Bob has done quite a lot of product-name dropping — I wonder if he gets a special deal? That would be nice. But as funny as they are to watch because they feel so scripted, they're actually part of the awesome way the show gives out tips on healthy living. Now if only Neil understood that.
And now, your thoughts.

Well, maybe Neil should try his hand at acting after The Biggest Loser is over because I bought it hook, line and sinker. I thought he genuinely had no idea what happened. And then to see his confession to the camera; wow. Pretty shocking.

We're on different pages with the Kim thing. I thought her recommending that Amy get the boot last week was a horrible thing to do -- yes, women lose weight slower. It's an unfair reality. But for a trainer to pick someone off because of it. . .
I wouldn't have been able to work with Kim after that either. And for Kim not to even realize that she owed Amy an apology? Jeez.

Last night's developments were sickening. The reason I watch BL (and not Survivor, Amazing Race, etc.), is because everyone can be a winner and show their strength of character. It's inspiring to me. Last night was just a travesty, that someone would mess with their health, maybe even endanger their life, just to get an edge in a game. I almost don't want to watch for the rest of the season, I am so disappointed. I was even more disappointed when poor Jez was sent home. Neil, you are a blight on the face of The Biggest Loser. You should get disqualified.

Johnny Fairplay has a new rival. I will be hissing now every time Neil shows his face on the show -- and that's a real shame. As has been noted, BL is supposed to be inspiring, not a hotbed of juvenile, traitorious plotting. And I can't see the logic behind it: next week Neil's going to be the biggest loser because he'll have shed all that water. Won't that put everyone else (those who voted for him) in jeopardy?
For shame, Neil. Couldn't win fair, or with integrity. And for shame, people who voted for Jez. Isn't BL supposed to be about getting right with the world?
Jez looked mm-mm-GREAT!!! Much luck to him!
Kim, as usual this season, did not come off in a good light. Apparently she thinks this show is about her. Perhaps the parts where she's actually supporting her clients are being edited out, but what we've seen of her so far (not just this season) has shown her to be all image and no empathy. She should have apologized to Amy.
Jillian, too, has come off negatively (is there really a need for the constant Marine Corps shouting?) but has shown empathy. Bob, of course, is God.
At this point I'm rooting especially for Kae. She's the quiet Little Engine Who Could.
And that Quaker Oatmeal is great stuff! (As is Subway and that gum. At least they're giving huge airtime to products that are actually good.)

I don't think that Amy was being a brat in this instance. Sure, she has some issues that she needs to figure out, (reasons for her walking out of a workout), but I think Kim has this disconnect that doesn't mesh with Amy. Kim basically said, "Get rid of her, I can't work with her," last week, and it got under Amy's skin. And when Amy deserted her for it, what was Kim's response? To get MAD!
There are times where I think Kim is in it for herself, as odd as that would be. How can you say that it is offensive to try someone else out. If Amy isn't getting the results with Kim, maybe it's time to try something new. New workouts, new approaches, new motivational coaching, WHATEVER! Kim wasn't doing it for Amy.
I only hope that the no weight loss was a result of putting muscle on this week. That would be a kick in the pants to keep her motivated, too.
As for Neil's dispicable behavior, I only wish the BL weigh-in would take the difference between the current week's weight and the lowest weight to date. That way, Neil would have to lose all 18 pounds to get a loss of one pound. THAT should stop the cheating.

Yes, Neil's weight gain was extreme, but does no one remember that others have done this before as well, just not as big as Neil did? Heather did it last year and so did Erik. They both put on weight on weigh-ins to stick around and look like they weren't a competitor and only to lose huge numbers the next week and then win the weigh-ins they were in. Bob gave a big speech to Erik as well then because he didn't want Erik to sacrifice his weight loss just for the sake of the game. On the other hand, why did Neil make it so noticeable? I mean, c'mon 17 pounds???? I think 1 gallon of water would have been enough, right? But then he goes over the top and does 2. I do think it is a bad thing to game play so much on a show that is about the goal of losing weight and I don't like that aspect of it. I love Kae for standing up and not participating the poker-eating temptation. Good for her!
On the whole Amy/Kim thing, yes, Kim at times can do some things to annoy me, but Amy has annoyed me since the beginning. She's lucky she's still there. If it were up to me, she would have been gone that first or second week (can't remember which one now) when she was whining around and begging to go home, saying she couldn't do it and not supporting her team. She has never been a team player and now she all of a sudden wants to be a team player for Jillian and is motivated. Yeah, whatever. I would have sent her packing a long time ago. And Kim was thinking of the team as a whole when she made those comments and Amy took it as a personal attack. You can't think that way when it is a GAME as well. Phil had led their team to victory and they were winning multiple challenges. Kim was only pointing out the obvious that it would be hard to win without him there. They are very lucky that the game changed into trios or they would have had to kiss their winning streak goodbye and I was so hoping they would just to get rid of her. I get so tired of her whining and crying. Yeah, Kim's not perfect, but Amy is so annoying at this point that I can't stand to even watch her. If she's going to stay there, she needs to focus on the weight loss and stay motivated, not whine and cry and make everything a personal attack against her. Others have been voted out too because it is a game as well.
Don't get me wrong, I hope Amy loses weight, but I get tired of her whole attitude that she's had thus far. I hope Jillian kicks her butt big time! Let her finally realize that she needs to work harder and push herself.

I'm just disgusted with the whole show. I will not be watching anymore. Between Neil's unbelieveably revolting scheme and the trainers' awful language, this is just not the show that I thought it was - I've been watching all this time and haven't felt like that until this year. The name of this show is THE BIGGEST LOSER --- HELLOOOO - then the person who GAINS weight should be leaving! Not getting rewarded for "playing the game"... There should be some rules for gaining weight - and whoever said it earlier is right --- Neil will only have to spend some time in the bathroom this week to be the biggest loser for his team next week - that just stinks. I'm hopeful some new rules are developed this week so that he is not rewarded. I can't believe any of the other contestants will even talk to him - I wonder what Jillian will say next week. But I won't be watching to find out. There is enough wickedness and nastiness on the news for me - I don't need to watch it on a formerly decent, uplifting show. Later Biggest Loser - they need to rename it to Biggest Schemer.....

Neil is such a disgrace to what this game is all about. I never had anything against him.....but now, if he ends up loosing the least amount of weight out of the whole group...I won't feel bad for him. That was just so wrong.I'm glad Jez took it like a man and continued to loose weight at home on his own...Good for you Jez!

This show hit a BIG TIME low in allowing integrity to take a backseat to underhandedness, "strategy," lying, and deceit. That someone can get caught cheating and admit to as much, and someone else gets voted off because the strategy actually worked is a sad, sad commentary on a THE BIGGEST LOSER. For shame. Have fun looking in the mirror every day, Neil.

Did anyone else realize that Neil was not the only former blue team member to gain weight this week? I don't think he was the only one trying to pack on weight.
I'm bummed too--I don't watch other reality shows becuase I hate the scheming and back-stabbing. I'll still watch unless this kind of stuff becomes the norm.
Great idea whoever said Neil should have to use last week's weight for weigh-in rather than his bloated weight.

This really bummed me out. The best part of The Biggest Loser is that there are no real "losers." They come home and achieve weight loss, and thus improved health and quality of life. I understand the pull of team loyalty, but on this show, the personal stakes are so high. I was disgusted. What is the chorus to the song they use in the opening..."What have you done today to make you feel proud?" That said, I cried when I saw Jez's "after." He looked fabulous. Perhaps that's the best revenge.

Yeah, Kim has Amy's best interest when it comes solely with exercising, but everything else she's a poor leader. Trainers shouldn't interject themselves in the game portion, only helping the contestants lose weight. I agree -- I wouldn't have worked out for Kim after she wanted me voted out.
And as much as I despise Neil for the weight gain, it is a game. That's why NBC producers need to have safeguards against this type of thing.

Are you kidding me? Kim hasn't been the only one to make suggestions on her team. Bob did it a few weeks ago when he said he would not allow them to go to a tie! Kim is catching all this flak when I think it comes down to the fact that she got the team members that were least motivated to be there! Plain and simple!

As soon as it was announced that Neil gained 17 lbs, my brother said he'd bet anything that Neil drank 2 gallons of water before weigh in because that would equal 16 lbs! I thought he was crazy until one of the females said the same thing later on.
Maybe I've watched too many episodes of Survivor and Amazing Race; but I think the blue & red teams are conspiring together against the black team. I also thought that maybe Amy was a spy & that's why she jumped to Jillian so quickly. Let's face it, we all know how lazy & whiny Amy is & she must know how intense Jillian is so why else would she subject herself to that? If she's relaying info back to her former teammates to help take out the black team then they might not vote her off.
And I hate, hate, hate that TBL is turning into this kind of show.
