Episode 11 Recap
Well tonight was quite the emotional episode, wasn't it? There have only been a couple moments this season where I found myself tearing up in comparison with previous seasons. But with the makeovers, surprise reunions with loved ones, and Kae being eliminated, there were plenty of tears to go around.
Like Allison said, it was ironic to say that Kae was not the Biggest Loser, seeing as how she'd lost the most percentage of any woman in the show's history. But Kae had so much to be proud of and had an amazing journey in her 10 weeks so I do feel like she's walking off as a winner. She had always been one of the biggest threats — if not the biggest on campus — and a lot of people wanted her gone. They never got the chance though, since Kae continued to pull big numbers every week and never fell below the yellow line. She didn’t even fall below the yellow line when hanging from a rope in the challenge and totally deserved to win the $5,000 shopping spree. And she also won the cover of Prevention magazine. Kae rocks my world.
Well I'm glad they incorporated the whole live weigh-in and we got to see Kae in present day. That girl is teeny-tiny! And how cute was her mother when she kept repeating, "You're my daughter?" I also loved her reunion with Bob at the weigh-in. He reminded her that she was what this show was all about. I couldn't have said it better myself. Neil and Amy, are you listening?
Having the contestants check out their made-over selves in a three-way mirror only to reveal their loved ones on the other side was just such a sweet part of the show tonight. Whether it was a wife, husband, mother or friend, everyone was just so happy and proud and shocked at the amazing results.
The little cross-promotion with Days of our Lives was slightly cheesy but I know the contestants were ecstatic about it so I won't dish on it too much. Oh, and speaking of which, the Wrigley's gum promotion tonight was just ridiculous. Subway — fine, they do have a wide range of healthy food options to offer so that sponsorship is understandable. But gum? I'm assuming Kim felt so silly telling Bryan that he can relieve stress by chewing gum. You mean that's better than taking out your stress on the treadmill?
So is everyone looking forward to gaining seven pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's? Wow, some of those facts in the trivia were pretty scary (You'd have to walk 3 miles to work off one serving of mashed potatoes and gravy! One serving of cranberry sauce has the same amount of sugar as eight donuts!) but as always, very useful. I'm pretty surprised somewhere in the two hours they didn’t have a segment in the kitchen showing low-fat ideas for holiday meals. Hmm, it would probably have had too many sponsors to name. And on that note, happy Thanksgiving everyone!

"I'm pretty surprised somewhere in the two hours they didn’t have a segment in the kitchen showing low-fat ideas for holiday meals. "
Agreed. Could have used that instead of the Wrigleys tip.
I missed the beginning of the show, did they say why it was a live follow-up with Kae instead of the usual taped piece?

ChristineT67 - They never said why it was a live weigh in but I think it's because of how well Kae has done and the fact that she has done the best in the show's history.
The whole Wrigley's gum thing was even weirder since Jillian did it earlier this season.
I'm a Days of Our Lives fan so it was cool for me to be able to see the sets and what they really look like in person. There were parts that were strange though like the shot of Rachael Melvin and Blake Berris right before the photoshoot and then they disappeared without a word. I did think it was nice of Kristen Alfonso to give Kae (and probably the other female contestants as well) a piece from her jewelry line without mentioning that it was from her personal jewelry line.
I was happy that Isabeau did so well this week. I really feel that Jillian was too hard on her for her decision to vote off Amy last week. Yes, it might come back to haunt her later, but Amy was taking up way to much of Jillian's time with her whining and Isabeau should have pointed that out to Jillian.
It's hard to believe the finale is coming up in 4 weeks since there are still 7 people left.

I love Bob. He seems so genuine and caring. Kae looks awesome, she is a tiny little thing.

I wanted to slap Neil yesterday with his "I still want Kae here."
Please. Seriously?
He wanted her gone just as much as the other losers, because she was one of the biggest competitors. Him trying to play the martyr was entertaining, considering he's the biggest manipulator on campus. I really want him off the show. If he wins, I honestly will not watch the show next year.
Kae looked fantastic, and at least she got to walk away with the 5000 dollar shopping spree. Despite the fact that she has done so fantastic, I felt like it was her time to go. She was getting close to goal, and the others have far more work to do to get to a regular size. So I wasn't all that upset to see her go.

When I grow up I want to be like Kae and get me some Bob lovin'!!! She looked fabulous.
Can't we get rid the black team already - at least the women on it??? They are so hypocritical . . . they were ticked off then Neil 'played the game' with his water-drinking and how they all needed to be here. But when they play the game and Jillian uses Amy as her 'trick up her sleeve' it is ok. Yeah, the weight loss and life change is great - but the bottom line is $250,000 on the line. If it isn't, then whoever wins should forfeit the $$ and have them give to charity . . . but I am sure that would never happen.
I can't wait until they are gone!

It was sad to see Kae go. She truly embodied what the show should be about: hard work, compassion, ethics. She's a class act amid so many crass acts.
The reunions were interesting. Neil's lady is a cutie. Now there's an odd couple. Bryan's was touching, as was the interaction between him and Kim when she discovered he was still there.
Speaking of crass acts, Jillian continues to disappoint with her attitude. Her reaction to Isabeau's vote was unprofessional. Isabeau should have walked away and joined Bob's team. I'm hoping that this season is the last we see of Jillian. I used to like her but no longer.
How cool that twins Bill and Jim both lost almost the same amount of weight: one on the ranch and one at home. Shows it can be done.
Neil's outrage over Kae's elimination would have been more believable had he not been the one who manipulated a weigh in and sent home a more deserving person.
That's my two cents.

Way to ruin Thanksgiving for us all, BL! I don't even really over eat during Thanksgiving but now I just don't want to eat anything at all.
It was a very touching episode, I had tears in my eyes during many of the reunions.
Kae looked amazing and so much happier than during the actual show. She started this thing super depressed and for the most part never got past it. It was nice to see her look truly happy at her weigh in.
I could not believe that Neil had the gall to be mad that Kae was targeted. He better hope he never drops below the line or surely the others will not forget his cheating to get that other guy [sorry can't remember his name] sent home.

I am very glad Isabeau stuck to her guns last week and even happier to see her pull big numbers. She is getting to be a smoking hottie... I'm rooting for her, Bill, or B.
Neil is such a phony....
I must admit I cried several times during this episode. I liked Kae but was never as big a fan as everyone else seems to be. I really did enjoy seeing her and Bob reunite though.
Product placement is so out of control. Just come right out and say this segment is sponsered by so and so and list the good qualities of their product. Trying to make it seem like it's just regular conversation is stupid.
Happy Turkey Day to all of you who help me pass these long days at work....

I would like to make a simple suggestion to the producers: In the future, if someone HAS immunity, and either loses NO weight, or even worse, GAINS weight at the weigh-in, they should forfeit their immunity. That way, people wouldn't be as tempted to pull the same stunt that Neil did just to get another two weeks along in the game.
Now to this week's episode: I have a feeling that voting Kae out will turn out to be a big strategic mistake. The fact that she has already lost SO MUCH weight means that the odds are good that she would have probably been under the yellow line pretty consistently for the next few weigh-ins, and could have been voted out at a later date.
How come Bill seems to lose 8-10 or more pounds week in and week out, but B. is all over the map? I wonder if it is training, menu choices, or genetics?
I'm pulling for Bill or B. at this point. I don't like the way everyone else is backstabbing each other.
