Episode 10 Recap
If the Grand Canyon were actually covered in peanut butter, I have a feeling a whole lot more people would be hiking to the bottom. I know that sounded really random, but if you pay attention to the trivia before the commercial breaks about 700 million pounds of peanut butter, you'll get it. I must say the trivia questions are a good way to keep me distracted by the insane number of commercials in these really long two-hour Biggest Loser episodes.
Anyway, so we all knew this day was coming and that Amy's luck had to run out eventually. I'm really surprised she managed to make it this far because she was always the one who I never believed really wanted to be there. It should be interesting to see if they show next week how Kim reacts to Amy's elimination. Well first, of course, she'll be ecstatic that Bryan survived another week and that she still has a job! That showdown between Kim and Amy tonight was pretty catty — on both sides.
At first I thought it was a bit out of character for Neil to do the right thing and encourage the Black Team girls to keep Bryan and say he was the more deserving one. But then it was obvious he was just trying to keep a guy around so he'd be able to knock out all the girls eventually. And it was pretty amusing when he told them Amy has stabbed each one of them in the back. Can we say "pot calling the kettle black" much? He just can't be trusted.
A few congratulations are in order for some of the contestants tonight: Bill for both reaching a 100-pound weight loss and for winning the $5,000 temptation challenge, Hollie who rocked the swim part of the triathlon and pulled off the win, and Kae for never giving in to any temptation challenge. (And an anti-congratulations once again to the show for an unnecessary waste of food.) Of course, Kae also deserves recognition for dominating the bicycling and running part of the triathlon, too. She continues to amaze me week after week and I would love to see her win the whole thing as the Biggest Loser.
I was so happy for Hollie and Julie getting a 24-hour period at home, but it was tough seeing them both lose zero pounds. It was very motivational to see that Julie's husband was also losing weight at home and that Hollie was able to get her overweight friend to work out.
I can't wait to see the makeovers next week!
Until then, check out our Online Video Guide.

So glad Amy is gone. The rest of the girls on the black team may not have realized it last night, but Isabeau did them a big favor by getting rid of Amy. Her whining and poor me attitude seemed to be taking up too much of Jillian's time.
I was glad Hollie won the challenge but I wish she would have chosen someone besides Julie to get the chance to go home. I haven't liked Julie in several weeks. Since Kae won the first two legs of the race, I feel Hollie should have let her share the prize.
I'm so glad that B gets a chance to continue. He is working so hard to single-handedly keep the Red team alive.
I, too, can't wait for the makeovers next week.

I am ecstatic that Amy is gone. She had the nerve to accuse Isabeau of stabbing her in the back. Wait. Wasn't Amy on the red team? Didn't she desert them? And what did she ever do for her team to earn loyalty? She whined, blew her workouts, bad-mouthed people, and tried to conspire. And the tears and attitude over not being chosen to visit family were annoying. Hell, there were five others who didn't get chosen and they didn't get all melodramatic over it. Congrats to Isabeau for making the right choice when her teammates didn't. Bryan deserves to stay.
Okay, maybe it was only donuts that aren't good for anyone anyway, but it was a colossal waste of food. What a mess. Cheers to Kae for not giving in. The whole temptation thing is just cruel. Sure, there will be temptations in the real world, but they don't have $5K prizes attached and the like.
As for the triathalon, it was unfair. Kae should have been able to start on the treadmill as soon as she finished the bike and then gone to the pool as soon as she finished the treadmill. She likely would have won. That's how they do it in the real triathalons. She whipped Hollie in the bike and run and was way ahead but Hollie's swimming experience prevailed. Unfair.
This has been a disappointing season on BL. So much "playing the game." If you're working out hard, that's what you need to win. It's based on percentage of weight loss, not total pounds. The producers should just eliminate the one with the lowest score each week and can the dramatics and the stupidity of the voting.
Finally, Jillian lost my respect when she went about campaigning to eliminate Bryan and keep goldbricking Amy. Why oust a hard working guy in favor of a crybaby do nothing? Butt out!

Oh My Gosh- thanks for commenting on the Grand Canyon trivia. That was my favorite part of the episode.
I greatly appreciated Isabeau's statement about integrity. It's about time someone this season used a little. Although I did not have anything against Amy, I am glad Bryan got to stay as he seems like a harder worker.
I am in with all about the complete waste of food. They really need to get off this temptation kick and use these challanges in more healthy and realistic to life ways.
Another big shout out to Subway. I realize they are a big advertiser for this show but I really wish they could go to other fast food establishments and point out healthy things on their menus. Or perhaps take them to a regular sit down place and go over menu selections and options. The trivia has been a good addition to this season. 120 minutes of jump rope for a medium pizza. WOW!

I agree with the above poster, the triathlon was totally unfair. For example, if they had started out with the swimming, or even put it in the middle, Kae would have won hands down. It just doesn't make sense that the person who wins the last event wins. What baloney! Kae was far superior in winning not one, but TWO parts of the triathlon. Also glad Amy is gone. Will be even more happy when Neil gets the boot...and he will.

amy left in typical amy fashion---whining, bitching, complaining. and blaming someone else for HER problems, you got voted off cuz you whine and complain and dont deserve to be there. how dare she get pissy with the girl (forgot her name) who DID THE RIGHT THING by giving a hard worker who's EARNED his spot another chance! buh-bye amy, you wont be missed!
i was also surprised by jillian's trying to get bryan sent home. it just shows that it's all about competition for her. yes, she has to support her team, but we're talking amy so just stay quiet, and you certainly dont gun for someone who actually deserves to be there. the choice was a no-brainer for anyone but those 2 dopes in alliance with amy.
i also thought julie's home visit was interesting, glad her hubby is motivated by her and proud, but i have never liked her much. kae is absolutely the best choice for the other person who gets the home visit.
i always enjoy BL to some degree, but the people this time are such disappointments. i can barely remember any of their names anymore cuz i dont care about most of them.
i just hope kae or B wins, or bill, i dont think he's gotten nasty yet? he has gotten pretty cute though!

I don't blame Jillian for campaigning but I personally think the trainers shouldn't be allowed to campaign at all. Their job is to train those who are there, not to decide who should be there. Jillian is my favorite, but I think they should stay out of it.
I'd even rather Losers weren't voted off at all for that matter. I agree with a previous poster - the lowest percentage of the week goes home.

Wow, I am sooo happy and relieved that Amy is gone! I can't believe she lasted 3 months -- I really wanted her out the first day she started complaining and whining. She's a beeyotch! I definitely appreciate and admire Isabeau's honesty and intergrity for voting off Amy.
GOOO Kae for kicking butt in the triathalon. I also thought it was strange that she couldn't continue on the other courses when she finished.
My faves are Kae, B, and Bill!

So I am a different voice. I so disagree with the above comment posters ---sorry. Regardless, Bryon lost the least, and he should have gone home. There have been no consequences to those who have deliberately treated Biggest Loser as if it were Survivor...... When weight is such an emotional issue - Gamesmenship doesn't belong in the mix.
Regarding Amy -- maybe we were all watching the same show, but I remember her trainer was unforgiveable in what she did to Amy. When Jillian welcomed Amy into the team I was glad. I saw Amy really work hard with Kae to overcome her personal demons, and that was because Jillian was "the right fit for Amy" Sorry I know the red team trainer, Kim, meant well - but when Amy sought closure with Kim - Kim became defensive. (How hard would it have been to apologize to Amy and wish her well - letting her know that she Kim would keep the team shirt for her. - It did not end well. and put Amy even more in the isolation mode.)
Neil his blood all over the body - yet flying once again with that sweet baby face under the radar.. telling B to work on Isabelle.. that was horrible. Okay so I have rambled and ranted. But I really wanted Amy to stay as since she has been with Jillian she made so many changes....
I see Neil as the engineer - and he has been calling the shots completely. Isabelle can't be trusted. The blue team has consistently targed the black team, with Neil manipulating the scores, trying to influence the outcome... Quite frankly Isabelle lied and she was on the block so many times, and it was because of the friendship and loyalty of Jullie and Hollie that she survived. The motivation speech by Neil was pathetic in that he is the one who stabbed all in the back, and he was the one who tried to get rid of Isabelle when he threw the competition. His higher than mighty sanctimonious speeches at elimination are horribly mean.
I have no problem with the trainers trying to help their team rationalize. Bob did it when he told the group to decide amongst themselves. Kim did it by targeting Amy. Now that Jillian has asked her team to insulate itself as it had been the constitent target by "neil" there is criticism.. Surprising.... But the trainers really have a handle on how hard they work.
Long and the short -- is that I agree - that Neil is doing this solely for financial and egotistical gain, I don't expect that his weight loss will be long standing. What I see is a man who will do and say whatever is in his own selfish best interest at the moment. He will lie and cheat regardless of the outcome, and who he hurts. Obviously he used B to go after Izzie. (How wonderful that Bob saw through Neil's charade). Clearly Izzie did not understand that it would have been in her best interest to keep Amy. Bryon will lose a substantial amount of weight next week and the girls may find themselves being voted out. Kudos to Jillians team for inspiring me in the face of the cowardice of Neil...

First off, I am one of the ones who is so happy that Amy went!! I was so tired of her holier than thou attitude and how she never stabs anyone in the back. Get real. She has been playing the game just as much as anyone since day one. She wasn't losing nothing in the beginning, campaigned to keep herself there when she wasn't even trying and was being lazy and they let a team member who was contributing go because of her, and then she whines constantly. She even admitted to Jillian that she did the same thing as Neil did (just not as extreme) by not losing any weight that one week so she could save herself and look weak. She is no better. Then she did jump ship and backstabbed her own team, B included. Yes, Kim suggested they vote Amy off because she was the weakest link at the time and I agreed. If they had stayed in teams right then, then that would have been the wise decision to make. Luckily for her, they split into trios or she would have been in trouble. Then I don't like her attitude at all. The week David left ("cowboy"), a former member of her own team, she wasn't even civil about it. If you watched at the end when he was hugging everyone and saying goodbye, she had this look of disgust on her face and just acted like she couldn't wait for him to leave and go on. She showed no emotion and was completely cold. Thank goodness Isabeau voted her out! Julie and Holly should thank her for using her brain. I will not miss her little outbursts, whining, etc. at all!
And another problem I had was Jillian. She complained constantly about the game playing and then she's campaigning to keep Amy there and vote out a person who truly deserves to stay like B. Had she not complained about the game play of it before, it probably wouldn't have bothered me, but since she did, it did bother me. I know Bob and Kim have contributed somewhat with their opinions, but Jillian always acts like she wants nothing to do with that part and then treats Isabeau like a child when Isabeau is trying to do what is right for her and what she feels is right for the situation. It's like butt out Jillian!
Right now, I like Bill and B, but I really do want a woman to win since none ever have. Kae would be about the only woman I would like to see win, but since she is such a target (loved the X on the back too -- LOL), not sure if she'll be able to stick it out or not. I guess second runner up for a female now would have to be Isabeau because of her decision to play with integrity and keep B over Amy. If a male does have to win, make it Bill. He deserves to win. He has a great personality and I have liked him since the beginning when it started with he and his brother and I liked him even more when he fought so hard for the recycling challenge to be sure Julie won a vehicle! That made me like him even more.

I'm not an Amy fan in the least, but I find it hysterical that people are actually talking about Isabeau using words like "integrity."
Seriously?
This is the same girl that used Neil's situation and purposely didn't lose a pound because she knew that the week after his waterload she would be fine. She is playing the game just as much as the rest of them.
Personally, I'm glad to see Amy go over B, because Amy has been a whiner from day one. But please don't put Isabeau on a pedestal, she doesn't deserve that. She isn't even there for the right reasons, she just wants the attention to further her singing career.
I'm rooting for Hollie, Bill or B at this point. The entire Blue team disgusts me for voting off Jez, Kae included. She talks about how moral and great she is, yet she didn't stand up and vote for Neil the week that he threw the weigh in. She went along with that plan, so the idea that she is some great, moral person is absurd.

Yeah I'm glad Amy's gone, but she seems to be doing well with the weight loss at home too (and what adorable kids!).
But unfortunately I've gotten to the point where I just can't sit for two hours to watch these episodes! I didn't even see the Triathlon part...watched the challenge with the donuts, did some things around the house, then tuned into the last 15/20 minutes to see the weigh-in/voting. I remember how great the first season of the show was...contestants I was really interested in (Gary, Kelly, etc), they had challenges, temptations, etc AND kept it to an hour-long episode. I can understand in the beginning of this season with having an extra team, but at this point, I just don't see why this show is still two hours long.
Hopefully next week's makeovers will be in the first 20 minutes

So glad Amy is gone. What a whiny, and after seeing her home & family, pampered princess. After this episode I realized she was seriously playing the game. For such a big woman who was, what did Bill say?, a size 5 a few years ago, I really think she was holding back, trying to stay in the game, before she turned it up a notch and started to slim down. I think her strategy seriously backfired. She garned virtually no good will from the other players and no safety net.
But you know who's starting to bug me? Kae. Like others I was really impressed with her progress, but I'm also realizing she's passive/aggressive. She's always so weepy and speaks with such a low, quavering voice when she's talking about how she's a target. But her words when she voted Amy off and then just kept her face averted -- harsh -- Kae isn't as fragile as she'd like people to believe. I hope the others watch out!
My fav? Bill. He seems like a nice guy, really pulls for his team, and he's making serious progress. I hope he pulls it out.

I was appalled. I thought that Kae was done a disservice by the manner in which the triatholan was conducted. She won the first two matches with much time to spare and yet she was given no kudos/advantage for her feats. Why should she or any one else have to wait around until the other contestants have completed their challenges before she/they can proceed to the other? Other than progressing to the next level, what advantage did she have in winning each meetby that great a margin?
