May 3, 2006: You Make Sick Look Pretty
You know what would be great? If the Amazing Race contestants met up with the Top Model girls on their photo shoot in Thailand and fed the monkeys together. Of course, since they're on at the same time, that would probably make my TV explode or display the death hieroglyphics, so never mind.
I have my doubts about how much these cultural-immersion lessons — tonight's classic Thai dancing, the Japanese tea ceremony a few seasons back — really have to do with modeling. In the real world, I believe models are taken out clubbing to make them feel at home with the locals. But who cares, these are our cultural lessons, too, and it's damn funny to watch Jade/Yaya show the world just how multicultural they are. Did some producer tell the dance instructor to be sure to include that bit about hand position showing arrogance? "I don't have an ounce of arrogance in my body," Jade told us. And then when Joanie called her defensive, she parried with "No, no, no. That is a lie!" But oh, Joanie's conversations with Jade would be so much more enjoyable if Joanie could speak properly with those giant caps on her teeth. Meanwhile, the nondefensive argument got so heated, no one seemed to notice Danielle being carried off to the hospital. Poor Danielle. It cannot be fun to be in a hospital when you don't speak the language. It'd be kind of like what Nigel and Twiggy would feel like in a hospital in Arkansas, since Southern twang is apparently a rare dialect to the Brits. I'm so proud of Danielle for pulling through and making it to the elephant shoot. I see a theme going on here: Both she and Joanie seem to photograph really well when they feel like they're going to puke. And that is, indeed, what makes a good model. Well, that plus being able to shave your legs in the middle of a jungle.
I just about regurgitated my dinner laughing as I played and replayed Jade's intelligent pronouncement of the evening: "Shooting with the elephant, it reminds me of an ancient dinosaur, because they are in the dinosaur family." Love. It.
Inspired by her dancing victory, Joanie got creative with her elephant model and even impressed Jay with her poses. She impressed Sara a whole lot more. I like Joanie all the more for not bitching Sara out for stealing her style.
Oh, Furonda. I'm with Nigel: The girl's spunk and entertainment value made her worth keeping around. But she wasn't the brightest mannequin in the lot when it came to learning the skills Tyra thinks are necessary for Top Model status. I hope CW gets her a guest spot or two on a new show next season. She was fierce when she catwalked out of that judging.
Second highlight of the night? In response to Jade's "Thank you for believing in me," Tyra shot back, "It's not necessarily me believing in you." Ha!

We almost got rid of Jade. What is this, the 5th time she's been in the bottom two? And she's still there?! Geez, just get rid of her already.
I'm happy that Joanie and Danielle are still in the competition. I really like those two. At first I liked Nnenna and Sara, now I've moved on to Joanie and Dani. They are doing awesome every week. Poor Danielle though. It's hard enough getting sick, but in another country and during a TV competition, yikes.
I'm not happy about Joanie acting b!tchy next week in the preview. When they focus on a girl changing her attitude, it doesn't bode well.

Danielle is gorgeous. I'm pulling for her. They can work on her language skills, although I think Nigel was a bit dramtic in claiming he could never understand her. However, I think Joanie will win. A blonde has yet to win on ANTM.

Love~~GG - I definitely agree with you. I feel like they're just keeping Jade around for entertainment value but now I feel she's beyond that and just annoying. Remember in this episode, Jade would repeatedly write off Joanie's far superior modeling as "whatever, she's not on my level"? I always just wanted to scream, of couse she's not on your level. You're waaay down here and she's waaay up there. 
Speaking of Joanie, I really hope those clips we saw of next week is simply hype and not much more. I like her and Danielle the best.

I was thinking the same thing Sabrina! Here's Joanie and Jade just having the most ignorant conversation, excuse me I mean, DEBATE I've ever heard. Furonda, half listening/practicing her hand poses in the mirror. Sara sitting who-knows-where and no one notices that my poor girl Danielle getting carried out to go to the emergency room!! "Gee, I wonder how Danielle is doing?"
Snaps for Joanie and her creative elephant posing - I was wondering if someone was going to pose near the trunk or something.
Then here's Jade - in the bottom 2.....AGAIN! They keep trying to tell her to knock of the arrogant attitude. Will it ever happen? Maybe one of these days she'll finally get knocked off her high elephant...er...I mean horse!

Glad Furonda is gone. Surprised Tyra never mentioned her bad skin like she did Yaya's.
Sara has to go soon and I hope Joanie gets evil with her for always stealing her moves. Sara should go next week. I want Jade to get comfortable and think she going to win and then the judges just pull the rug from under her.
DANIELLE BE MY FRIEND!!! I LOVE YOU GIRL YOU ARE THE BEST CONTESTANT ON ATM EVER!

I am with you loganecholls!! I love me some Danielle & I was so scared for her last night!! But, like the professional champ she is she rose to the occasion!
It's been time for Furonda to go... she looks so odd and I'm sorry she's just fugly...
I hate Jade with all of my being... she keeps talking and she really has no idea what she's saying... When did Elephants suddenly become related to dinosaurs!! Did she get her Zoology degree from "Diplomas-R-Us"?!?!?!

Furonda's dancing was obscene.
Joanie and Danielle are the front runners and I hope that one of them takes this. Sara made a good showing, but she is over her head and as far as Jade goes.....time to go. Enough said.

ErickaKane, I agree, I think Joanie is going to win as well, although I'm rooting for Danielle. But, we have had a blonde win - Eva "The Diva" Pigford.

"Let's give Jade a second chance." WHAT? I got it the first time but now its her third, fourth, FIFTH chance! If they put Jade in the bottom two again and not let her get eliminated the show will just become a mockery of itself.
