Seacrest & the judges
Seacrest thanking everybody including the rest room attendants and not thanking Simon is not funny. Seacrest seems to think it's the Ryan Seacrest Show. Randy and Paula can say somebody is bad as long as they use their whiny "I'm so sorry" voices but if Simon says the same thing he's evil. The contestants need to remember they are not stars yet. I'm not sure that anyone who is already performing should be allowed to compete with those who are strictly amateurs. Am I looking for too much? A five minute discussion on dishwashing liquid? Anyone so ignorant they can't figure that out is hopeless. Let's put the spotlight back on the performances and give honest assessments.

I agree, Seacrest is getting too big for his britches. Some of Simons remarks are biting, but very often he hits the nail on the head.

Actually, the abuse that Seacrest heaps on Simon makes me VERY uncomfortable. I agree, it is not entertaining. In fact, Randy and Paula's enjoyment of Ryan's abuse of Simon is disconcerting also. I am unaware of why this happens, perhaps I have missed an integral part of the history, but GIVE IT A REST! Why alienate the home audience? Have you EVER taken notice that although Simon's critiques are harsh, that his opinion is the one that counts the most with the stars? Really---if you can't take constructive criticism, then go home, take a nap, it's way past your bedtime baby.

Actually, the abuse that Seacrest heaps on Simon makes me VERY unfortable. It's like going into store and watching an employee get chewed out. That has always made me, the customer, feel VERY uncomfortable. I don't know why they seem to hate Simon so much. If I did, then perhaps I would understand it more

I think Ryan's comments are sometimes funny, but they usually go to far. Simon does usually have good comments, but most of the time he doesn't need to say them quite the way he does. But, what bothers me more is the bantering that has been going back and forth lately between all three judges. We are not there to listen to their stupid little bickering. Give their opinions and let's move on.

Are we forgetting this just a tv show? This is obviously an act I watched a special on E and Ryan Seacrest and Simon were involved in charity work for under privileged children in Africa I think.

Idol has Jumped the Shark this year. Jason sings a song verbatim from the Scrubs 100th show and gets kudos. Michael sings an Arrowsmith song verbatim and gets knocked because he "imitated" Steven Tyler. Who is playing favorites? I think that the judges have their favorites-Simon likes Brooke over all. Even his criticisms are softballs. And what Seachrest did to Michael was pathetic and he owes an apology.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and considering that he and Simon REALLY are good friends...he takes it in stride. I think Ryan does that to try and make it easier on the contestants after Simon gives some of his brutal critiques. Much like Paula does. Even though she gets scatterbrained at times, she really is trying to ease the blows from out of Simon's mouth. Wouldn't u want that if you were in the contestants places?(truthfully)

The Judges are wishy-washy! They make me so ANGRY! They tell the contestants one thing to do and when they do it then they say the opposite. For i.e. They will tell them that they need to be more original and when the contestants do JUST THAT then they have something ugly to say like 'you should have kept true to the original' OR 'that's not how the song was meant to be sung'. I mean REALLY! Then they make asinine comments like 'Whitney does the song better' or 'that was not close to how Mariah, Stevie Wonder, etc. does it.' For real?
Forgive me if I am wrong here but 1)Why put the songs in the song book for them (contestants) to pick when you are only going to critique them on how the ARTIST sang it? These people are NOT the ARTISTS! They are TRYING there hardest to get where these ARTISTS are!!! 2) Then they tell them that the ARTISTS sung it better (i.e. Syesha) when she did Whitney's songs. Did she NOT say that she took Whitney and Dolly's version and blended them? For the originality....it was FANTASTIC. Give her kudos for being original just like the ever so talented David Cook!
Of course she didn't SOUND like Whitney. Maybe because she is not, repeat, NOT WHitney. She is who she is (they ALL are) and the show is suppose to be about THEIR talent not the ARTIST who songs they are singing.
The judges need to realize that! Judge these people on THEIR potential and NOT on the merits of those great ARTISTS whose league they are trying to be a part.
It's beginning to feel like, for those people, a DA**** IF YOU DO and DA**** IF YOU DON'T. Give these very talented people a BREAK for being who THEY are and the great artists that THEY CAN/WILL become!!!!!

Seacrest's banter with Simon is getting old - -everyone knows what good friends they are - -they even vacation together, so his "insults" are just stupid. Paula PLEASE, get your act together! No wonder people think she's high - -she can't even form a complete sentence. Simon is the only judge who gives actual advice they can use. If the contestants listened to him, they might actually do better on the show. What were some of these kids doing before they came on the show? Waitressing? Bartending? Delivering pizza? Yeah, that makes them a vocal EXPERT o much so that they say Simon is "wrong" about them. Lame!
