Could anyone out in TV land just answer one tiny question, WHEN WILL THE NEW SEASON of 24 start? Does anyone have any idea??????

There was a blog posting a few weeks back related to this topic. The board of producers of 24 are discussing several options.
1. They are thinking of starting the new season this fall 2008, and have 10 mini episodes, then they will go on hiatus, until after the holiday season for the rest of the episodes to air through May. They were not sure of this idea because it does effect the 24 hour "THEME" of uninterrupted shows for hardcore viewers who can't wait to watch the following weeks show, however,
The second option was to cancel the season through 2008 and have it start up next January 2009 for an uninterrupted run. Even though Jack will technically be held captive for 2 years, they can easily work that out rather then break up the season. Even if the writers strike ended tomorrow, the board made it clear THEY WILL NOT start the FRESH season of 24 at this time since it is already behind.
Showing it in the summer is out of the question since everything else would be off the air, they would lose money due to summer, this is not an option.
I haven't heard any updates as to what they have decided, but if the TV doesn't advertise the show to start this fall 2008, you can be sure they will start it, for sure January 2009. I hope everything gets cleared with the writer's strike by then.
