Grey's Anatomy

Over an hour into tonight’s two hour finale, it hit me…we needed some humor to lighten up this very dark episode. Nothing seemed to be going right. Meredith and Derek were at each other’s throats over the latest loss in their clinical trial; Rebecca kept getting worse and was in need of serious medical attention (but Alex was in serious denial), and the man in cement seemed to be doomed (among other things). So, is it wrong that when Cristina snapped at Erica in the OR, I almost cheered? For the first time something seemed to be going right---Cristina was in the zone and finally standing up for herself. The only thing better than that was the look of shock on Erica’s face when the Chief agreed Hahn needed to back off and let Cristina do her thing. I take that back, the best moment came later, when the Chief confronted Hahn after the operation and told her she needed to handle the residents better, “You need to learn how to teach, without crushing their spirits. You need to be a better teacher.” Not only is Hahn now on the hook, but Cristina overheard the whole thing. Finally, Cristina is getting her groove back! With barely twenty minutes to go in the show, Meredith finally seemed to be making the progress in her personal life that could help her pave the way back into Derek’s arms. In a breakthrough moment, Meredith realized that the night her mother cut her wrists, she wasn’t really trying to kill herself. If she had been, an extraordinary surgeon like herself could have done a much more effective job in a timelier manner. Instead, Mer realized that what her mother really wanted was for Richard to come back to her and leave his wife for good. Finally, Mer realized that when her mom told her to “be extraordinary,” she didn’t mean in surgery. George also had a breakthrough of his own. When klepto Lexie broke into the Chief’s files and found out that George had failed the intern exam by one point, George was pissed! He didn’t really want to know that such a small margin of error had forced him to repeat his internship and feel like less of a doctor. Finally, he stood up for himself, pleaded his case to the Chief and was granted permission to re-take the test. After this long and arduous night, Alex reluctantly accepted that Rebecca really did have a problem that required psychiatric help. It was obviously difficult for him to let go of the want to “fix her,” something he apparently had tried to do for his mother years prior to now. And poor Izzie spent the entire night trying to get Alex to see the writing on the wall. I guess it’s safe to say that next year will be a rebuilding year for Alex, as he tries to move on from this latest personal turmoil. My heart really went out to Beth ( Jurnee Smollet) and Jeremy ( Marshall Allman) tonight, the two young lovebirds who took part in Mer/Der’s clinical trial. I kept thinking that for symbolic reasons, the two might both survive their surgeries, but in a cruel twist of fate, only Beth’s was a success. But alas, that one success made it possible for Meredith and Derek to finally come full circle and rekindle their love. The last ten minutes of tonight’s show was truly the best part of the whole evening. Cristina paging Lexie to retrieve her banana, (not to peel it for her, as Lexie suspected, but so that Cristina could teach Lexie something new), ended up being a really humorous and touching moment. Bailey finally got to see the bigger picture, something she had been aiming to find all night. For her, that meant giving the clinic to Izzie, so that she could spend more time with her family. Meanwhile, Richard went back home to his wife and owned up to his mistakes and a surprised Adele responded perfectly by saying, “well, it’s about time.” And of course Meredith and Derek kept chasing each other’s shadows, each trying to connect with the other. Then there were the kisses!!! Not just one kiss, but several! Callie grabbed Erica outside of the hospital, in plain sight of everyone, and went in for not one but several passionate smooches. Richard got his lip lock on with Adele; Alex planted a few on Izzie; George gave one to Lexie and finally, Derek and Meredith connected in their most intense encounter in months! I guess you could say tonight was really about breaking free from the chains that bind you. Seemingly, everyone had something weighing them down and holding them back. Meredith was finally able to identify what was keeping her from truly giving her heart to Derek. Callie stopped worrying about what other people might think if she really was attracted to Erica. Richard owned up to his mistakes and fought to win back Adele. George stood up for himself, Bailey found the bigger picture in life, Cristina let her extraordinary side show again and Alex was finally able to admit to himself that no matter how much his heart wants to, he can’t always save everyone. Well, I’d say that gives us all a lot to ponder over the coming summer months…So, until next time, let me know what you thought of tonight’s episode and the numerous possibilities to come. Finally, after weeks of speculation, there’s a kiss! Not the kiss that is supposed to shock us all, that’s supposed to come next week…but an intriguing kiss nonetheless! I’m talking of course about Callie and Erica in the elevator. While the motivation for the lip-lock could obviously be attributed to Erica’s desire to rile up Mark (who is “turning over a new leaf”), one could also argue that it might have had more meaning for one, or both of the ladies involved. Hopefully, next week will shed more light on that one. Meanwhile, Derek and Meredith found themselves working with a new patient, Greta ( Regina Taylor), who appeared to be suffering from a romantic delusion involving a guy she allegedly met on a cruise. Greta’s only request was that they hold off on the surgery until he could arrive, which prompted a huge debate between Derek and Meredith: do they wait for this “phantom love,” and sacrifice precious time, or do they move ahead anyway? While Derek wanted to give Greta more time to hold onto the dream, Meredith was ready to get cracking. I found myself thinking the scenario was reminiscent of Flight Plan, with Jodie Foster---would this missing mystery person ever show up? Thankfully, he did, but he was too late. Greta ended up in what Derek branded a fatal coma. Could this really mean her fairytale is over? On another disturbing note, Cristina continued to dwell in an angry place tonight. She had no interest in joining in on the landmark surgery that occurred tonight and she was eager to belittle just about anyone who crossed her path. Between taunting George about his lacking future without Burke’s direction and telling Lexie that she needs to “have some fire and be a force of nature,” it was pretty clear that the words coming out of her mouth were actually misguided accusations aimed at herself. Personally, I can’t wait for Cristina to get out of this funk because I much prefer the witty Cristina to the purely nasty one. Tonight, Alex finally found out the truth about Ava/Rebecca and he continued to stay by her side anyway. And did I see that wrong, or was Alex rummaging through Izzie’s drawers tonight to find something for Rebecca to wear? Had I been Izzie I think I would have had a problem walking into that scenario, without having been asked permission first. At any rate, I do feel bad that Rebecca seems to be suffering from something far worse than what I had originally suspected (a severe case of pre-meditated manipulation). Best monologue of the night goes to Lexie, when she confronted Mer in the bathroom. She not only hit on every one of Mer’s big issues in life (“our dad abandoned you; your mom was mean; you can’t let Derek love you and it all really sucks”), but she also managed to end her point with a solid finish, “I had this fantasy of my big sister and you have failed on every occasion to live up to that fantasy…but I still love you, whether you are capable of loving me or not.” Well done. Lexie’s other monologue, aimed at Cristina, was also quite noteworthy. I have to say, Lexie has grown to be quite an addition to this show. On a lighter note, one of my favorite exchanges tonight was between Meredith and Cristina, who both agreed they were in a “dark place.” I also enjoyed watching George race around the hospital tonight, come to Tuck’s rescue when his parents were fighting and ultimately see him end the day with a compliment from the Chief and the Chief’s mentor, Walter ( Paul Dooley). As for Rose and Derek, well, I can’t say I like the pairing, but I do feel bad for Rose. She seems to be a genuinely nice person caught up with what we could call the right guy at the wrong time. But I still want Derek with Meredith, so I’m really hoping Rose finds someone else…soon. So, what did you all think of the Erica/Callie kiss. Was it all in fun, or secretly meaningful? What will become of Alex and Ava now that everyone knows there is no baby? Ponder those thoughts as we head into next week and the season finale! “It was not a good day,” according to Dr. Wyatt ( Amy Madigan), but I’m inclined to disagree. While Meredith may be fooling herself into thinking she can accept that “Derek is with Rose,” Derek clearly got a dose of reality when he slept with Rose and found himself only thinking about Meredith. Cleary these two are meant to be together, but I have to admit, the longing and anticipation is driving me crazy! In truth though, the angst also creates some of my favorite moments. When Derek stood in the hospital hallway between Rose and Meredith, and in essence, chose to “spend the night” with Meredith at the hospital rather than go home with Rose, I was melting. That was until Meredith advised him to leave anyway, but Derek did return with a bottle of champagne and a beautiful monologue about celebrating when they “finally get it right.” True, he was talking about when they finally succeed at treating a clinical patient, but I think we all know what he really meant. My heart is aflutter. Mark on the other hand, ran the gamut of emotions. First, he learns that his hospital trysts have finally landed him in hot water with the arrival of the new “date-and-tell” policy. Then he chases down Rose to ask her for her help regarding his reputation and ends up morphing into McNasty, yelling at her and saying, “I hate girls like you…really you’re just afraid that once you give it up, he’ll lose interest.” Such harsh words coming out of such an otherwise sexy mouth, but then I guess this behavior was more in line with the type of things Mark might have said when he first landed at Seattle Grace. Maybe it’s just me, but lately he did seem to be a more jovial and light-hearted version of the guy we first came to know. Fortunately, it seems Mark does have a heart, as he looked genuinely melancholic by the end of the night. And major props to Bailey for putting him (and everyone else) in their place, by acknowledging that he is a whore and that they don’t need a policy to know better: “Let us all close our knees and get back to our jobs…and help people…” George gets funny points for tonight for doing such an awesome job of being the Chief’s “made-up” intern. The way he ran around with those policy forms was impressive, despite being deemed the “brown-nosing perv.” In a related highlight, it was also funny to see Lexie’s reaction to Alex forgetting that they had once slept together. Ouch! On a different note, seeing Cristina break down tonight was interesting. As soon as she opted to spend the day in the morgue, it was clear she was not handling the news well about Burke’s award. In fact, when she stared singing Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” song, I wasn’t sure where things were going to end up, but I did enjoy the nasty look she gave Lexie when she tried to sing along. Cristina also had a very powerful monologue at the end of tonight’s episode, when she explained to the Chief how frustrating it was that Burke’s award failed to credit her for all of the help she had given him. In more succinct words she said it best when she admitted, “It’s not difficult, it’s unbearable and I do not wish him well.” Meanwhile, Izzie had to fight back the urge to break the patient/doctor confidentiality agreement and let Alex know that Ava/Rebecca really isn’t with child. Indeed, Alex seemed genuinely jazzed by the idea of Ava moving in with him temporarily at Mer’s house and by the end of tonight, he was definitely beefing up his kids’ skills. Now I’m eager now to see how this storyline plays out. Just how far does Ava plan to take this lie and when will she finally get caught? On a sadder note, it was tough watching Mer’s clinical patient, Darren (Benny Ciaramello); spend his last living moments at odds with his military boyfriend, Todd (Dave Giuntoli). At the very least, I was glad to see Darren’s dad acknowledge Todd at the end and the tender kiss Todd place on Darren’s lips was certainly bittersweet. And last, but not least, it’s still not clear where Erica’s heart lies. When Callie finally told Erica that Addison had suspected them of engaging in a lesbian relationship, the two seemed to laugh at the idea…only to have an awkward silence follow. All I can say is, hopefully next week will pick up right where this week left off. Catch clips and full episodes of Grey's Anatomy in our Online Video Guide!

“Reunited and it feels so good!” Yes, it was almost like old times when Addison showed up tonight. If she hadn’t had to spend so much time “catching up” on all of the soapy Seattle Grace details, it might have felt like she had never left. And I almost allowed myself to be tricked into thinking she might return to Washington when the Chief suggested he could start her paperwork (despite knowing that Private Practice is fully expected to return in the fall). So, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when she dismissed the idea of a permanent stay by saying, “I needed to come back to see that it was right to leave.” Perhaps that’s how you feel Addison, but I still think you belong at Seattle Grace! Aside from Addison, there seemed to be a lot going on tonight. For starters, Ava ( Elizabeth Reaser) returned to tell Alex she was preggers and it was a distinct possibility that the baby was his. Alex’s response could best be described as stone cold when he asked her point blank if she was going to keep the baby or have an abortion. He then spent the rest of the night doing his best to avoid her. However, after an intense surgery on a baby suffering from ectopia cordis, it was clear the experience had affected him and had him rethinking fatherhood. In the end, we saw him reaching out to Ava in acceptance of the baby, even though we now know that Ava isn’t really pregnant. One can only wonder how he’ll react when he learns the truth. Meanwhile, the relationship between Callie and Erica was burgeoning, until Addison began questioning if it was actually a budding romance in disguise. Callie seemed genuinely surprised at the suggestion, which then led to a lot of awkward moments with Erica. The uneasiness reached the breaking point at the bar when Erica made a point of removing a stray hair from Callie’s lips, which sent Callie running into the arms of Mark on the dance floor. Right now, I can honestly say I’m not sure where this storyline is going. Does Erica really have a crush on Callie? Does Callie have a crush on Erica, but has not fully realized it yet? Or does Erica secretly have a thing for Cristina, which might explain why Erica tries to push her away so much. I’m so confused, but at least Mark looks happy! Mer/Der had a long night too, as they embarked on their clinical trial. The patient, Phillip ( Jason O'Mara), proved to be suffering from the emotional fallout brought on by his tumor. He proved to be downright nasty at times, which left his wife, Jennifer ( Clea DuVall), with only this thought to cling to: “It’s just the tumor talking…” I have to admit, this was my least favorite plot of the night. Mostly because Scott’s maniacal laughter scared me in that Jack Nicholson in The Shining kind of way. I fully predict I will have nightmares tonight, but I digress. The sad part is that Scott did not survive, but in a strange way the event still had a positive effect on Mer/Der. And so, we move one baby step closer to their romantic reunion. Throughout the night there were lots of other important moments too, like when Bailey confessed to Addison that she and Tucker were on the outs, or when Izzie found her inner Gandhi and was able to assure an HIV patient she could have a healthy baby. Some of tonight’s highlights included Cristina trying to “talk girl,” Lexie, the messenger, telling George that “Nobody wants to play darts with their boss,” and Bailey telling Alex, “Right now you’re feeling all your feelings out in the open. Do me a favor and stuff them back in.” Ultimately though, my favorite moment came at the end, when Derek, Addison, Rose and Meredith all ended up in the elevator together. Clearly, it was already an awkward moment, but it became priceless when Mark got on at the next floor and slyly said to Derek: “I bet you wish you had taken the stairs right about now.” It was definitely a busy night and I’m curious to know what everyone out there thought of Addison’s appearance. Did her return fill a void that has been missing for quite some time? Post your thoughts here and remember to check out our Online Video Guide for clips and full episodes of Grey’s Anatomy!

Finally, a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy and it was well worth the wait! Even though it has been months since we last heard from the docs at Seattle Grace, in TV time it has only been six weeks since Meredith and Derek parted ways. The night began with Meredith in her third therapy session with Dr. Wyatt ( Amy Madigan). So far, the two of them have failed to have a meaningful conversation and just as Meredith was about to open up, her pager went off and just like that, Meredith was on her feet and out the door (once again escaping intimacy)! Meanwhile, we find George and Lexie living in a rather beat up apartment, infested with cockroaches. Surprisingly, Lexie was unfazed by the creepy critters running rampant in their “new” place and she made a valiant effort to get George to see that with a little work, things could be better. Admittedly, I’m slightly concerned that she may become a serial kleptomaniac, but I was really impressed with the shabby chic makeover she busted out by the end of the show. Who would have thought underpads would make good placemats? And I bet Martha Stewart never thought to make a fruit bowl out of a bed pan! Nicely done, Lex. On a more serious note, Seattle Grace was also dealing with a tragic accident tonight. A woman, her husband and his brother barely made it to the hospital after a bear attack. Meredith took a special interest in the one brother because she thought his irrational and impulsive behavior might be indicative of a tumor. In the end, she was right and the discovery led his wife to wonder if their recent quickie marriage was nothing more than a result of that tumor. As the doctors raced to save lives, they were also racing to score points in a game judged by Bailey. Izzie ended up putting her patient, Otis ( Cheech Marin), through numerous medical tests in the hopes that she might uncover a “medical mystery,” which was worth eighty points. Unfortunately for her, the only thing she uncovered was a possible case of the flu. Needless to say, Otis was not pleased that he had been treated like a test rat and he let her know it (and everyone else within shouting distance)! Over the course of the last few weeks it would also appear that Erica and Callie have become good friends, much to the jealous dismay of Cristina. Although, Erica did ask Cristina at one point tonight if she wanted to stay in the operating room with her and observe her in surgery. While the opportunity cost Cristina points in the surgical game (viewing surgeries is only worth three points), that sacrifice may have scored her some personal points with Erica. Only time will tell. In the relationship department, it looks like Rose and Derek are still seeing each other and Rose even blabbed to Lexie at one point that she thinks she’s in love. However, Mark made it clear to Derek that he doesn’t approve. In fact, Mark wins points with me for his innuendos and the elevator confessions he made to Derek tonight. Among those comments, Mark admitted that he was tired of waiting for Derek to cycle through his various love interests, even going so far as to say, “I thought it was going to be you and me…two guys on the prowl…” In the end, Grey won the surgical contest (a sparkly pager that gives her first rights to surgeries for the next three months), but perhaps more importantly for her, she ended up back at Dr. Wyatt’s office---and as the show closed, we heard her say, “Okay, I think I better start talking now…” Something tells me this could be the beginning of the new Mer/Der journey. There’s still so much more to say about tonight’s episode, but I really want to hear what all of you thought. Was it worth the wait in your eyes? Did anything surprise you tonight? Post your thoughts! And until next time, here are some of my favorite lines of the night: Lexie: “I’ve never even shoplifted a piece of gum before and now I’m a thief.” George: “I complain a lot, don’t I? I need to focus on what’s good instead.” George: “I wish you had stolen the TV’s.” Lexie: “I tried; they’re bolted to the walls.” Izzie: “You see swollen ankles. I see medical mystery.” The Chief: “You’re in a lion’s fight, Stevens. Just because you didn’t win, doesn’t mean you didn’t know how to roar.” Mark: “You’re pathetic and I’m a lesser man for knowing you.” Don't forget to check out our Online Video Guide for clips and full episodes of Grey's Anatomy!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and the love lives of our favorite docs remain in writer's limbo. Bailey's marriage is on the rocks; Mer/Der are on the outs and Cristina is still waiting for a new love ( Joshua Jackson, where are you?). For me, knowing that Grey's Anatomy is expected to resurface with fresh episodes this April is enough to warm my heart, but did you know you can now send your sweetie a special Grey's Valentine? So, while you can't tune in to a new episode of Grey's this Thursday, you can still spread some Seattle Grace love. By the way, if you're feeling feisty, I highly recommend the Sloan card... Have a Happy Heart Day, everyone!!!

After a long absence, Grey's Anatomy returned tonight with what could be the last glimpse we have at Seattle Grace for a while...and they did not disappoint. In a change from the norm, Bailey talked us through tonight's episode and from the moment she stated, "God created man and it's been downhill ever since," we knew that it was going to be a night unlike any other. Derek and Mark started things off by taking what looked like a light-hearted nature walk through the woods. Their travels ended up on a picturesque hilltop, where Derek exclaimed he was going to build his dream house. He wasn't kidding. With the architectural plans already mapped out, Derek blindsided Meredith with the news and her reaction was less than enthusiastic. Perhaps she was as shocked as I was to learn that McDreamy had put any thought into ever moving out of his shiny trailer. Or perhaps she was too preoccupied with her culinary creation for Lexie, to properly process the news. Either way, I was disappointed that she didn't react with at least a little more excitement at the prospect. Especially since it seemed like Meredith was finally starting to come around to the idea of having a more meaningful and committed relationship with Derek. It did seem that way, didn't it? Or maybe it's been so long since the last episode of Grey's Anatomy that I’m just remembering that wrong! While this was an intense episode, especially where Bailey was concerned, I did really enjoy how the faith healer, Elizabeth ( Glenne Headly), managed to touch so many lives. Not only did she seemingly heal some of the other patients in the hospital with her positive energy, but she also seemed to be able to read people. In a very revealing moment, she suggested that Karev had "a darkness" in his throat---alleging that something had happened to him in the past that was so hurtful, he couldn't speak of it now. She then went on to suggest that he hurts others now just to spread the pain around, further noting that he was "a sweet boy, but you're not a good man." Those were some strong accusations, but knowing the little bit that we do about Karev's family history, she seemed to be right on target. In the end though, I do think Alex tried to redeem himself when he chose to bring Izzie to Elizabeth's side. It was nice to see him not only grant Elizabeth's wish (to have someone explain to her the process of her pending surgery), but it was also an endearing moment when Alex told Izzie, "Yang's got nothing on you." This came on the heels of the heart to heart they shared earlier, when Izzie admitted that she wished she had the kind of faith in herself that Cristina does. There's hope for you yet, Alex! Of course, the biggest storyline of the night was the accident Miranda's baby suffered at home. I hate to admit it, but for a brief second, I was afraid that Mr. Bailey had somehow engineered the accident with Tuck, in a horrible attempt to get Miranda's attention off of work for once and get her to focus on her family. I know, I know, I feel terrible for having had that thought, especially after seeing how upset both parents were over the accident. Making matters worse, it didn't help that they never seemed to stop blaming one another for the incident. And now, even though Tuck is on the mend, it's hard to say if Bailey's marriage will be too, or not. One thing that did shock me tonight was the way that George so nonchalantly chatted with Meredith about the Derek/Rose kiss. Would he really be so thoughtless and assume that Meredith already knew about the lip lock? I think not! I would have expected George to fish around the subject with Meredith first, to be sure she already knew, before discussing his opinion on the matter. Then things went from bad to worse when Meredith confronted Derek about the kiss...ultimately leading to their break-up (once again). Some of the other highlights from tonight, for me, included: Lexie willingly eating Meredith's breakfast, even though she was allergic to eggs and later suffered a nasty reaction; Cristina opting to hold baby Tuck's hand during surgery, rather than take part in it; Callie telling George's mom that she loved being an O'Malley; and Hahn suggesting to Sloan that he is too pretty, but if they didn't work together there might be something more between them. Well, that's it for now and quite possibly, for the season. Let's keep our fingers crossed though, that the strike will end soon. Until then, I guess we just have to "have a little faith..." Episode Recap: Crash Into Me (Part Two) December 6, 2007What a night! Mer finally tells Derek that she doesn't want him to date other people and he goes and locks lips with Rose at the hospital! Shonda couldn't have planned that cliffhanger any better herself, because tonight's episode marks the last new episode available this month. All I can say is, I really hope that Derek doesn't choose Rose over Meredith. It's true, Mer was slow to open up to him, but how can he walk away from her now? Especially after she told him, "I don't want to lose you." My heart really goes out to Bailey, too. Tonight, she put her troubled marriage on the line to operate on Shane ( Gale Harold), a white supremacist. Though it didn't really surprise me that Shane was more concerned about his "ruined" tattoo than he was about how Bailey had saved his life. For me, it was almost harder to watch Tucker ( Cress Williams), disregard the importance of Bailey's job and then suggest to George that their marriage was over now. I know it must be hard to be the spouse of a doctor, what with the crazy hours they keep, but they're saving lives! And Bailey works so hard. I just wish her husband could have been more empathetic. I was also sad to see Nick ( Seth Green) expire tonight. I really thought he and Lexie made a good pair and a romantic relationship between the two could have made for an interesting arc. Nick's sense of humor brought some fun to the show, too. Even as he continued to lose volumes of blood, he was able to joke that Lexie looked like "Carrie at the prom," since she was wearing half his blood. The only good thing to come out of that scenario was the pep talk Cristina gave to Lexie at the end of the night, which somehow resulted in Cristina bringing Lexie back to Mer's house for a dance party. Okay, one other thing made me happy here. I was glad that Meredith invited Izzie to join in on the dancing. Speaking of Izzie, do we agree with George that the problem with their relationship wasn't due to a lack of chemistry? Hmmm. I'd say they have good friendship chemistry, but I don't really see these two getting together again some time down the road. I don't think the failed romance was bad timing, as George suggested. I think it just wasn’t meant to be. Another highlight for me tonight was hearing Dr. Hahn tell Sloan, "If you were homely, you would have lost your job a long time ago." She's so mean and yet, I find myself liking her character a little more each week. I don't even know where to begin regarding the Alex/Rebecca scenario. After all of the things he said to her tonight, including the confession he made that he was also intimately involved with Lexie, I expected her to walk out on him. The look on her face indicated that she was clearly shocked and offended. Yet, she stayed and the make-out session continued. I can't wait to see where this tryst ends up. I have a feeling Rebecca's husband might show up one of these days and offer to give Alex a bloody nose. Last, but not least, my favorite lines of the night came from the Chief: "It's good to be scared. It means you still have something to lose." While we ponder those words, there will be plenty of time to ponder the fate of our favorite docs over the next few weeks, as we wait for a new episode to evolve. Feel free to post your thoughts here and hopefully, we'll be meeting again soon! Need a Grey's fix to get you through the strike? Check out our Online Video Guide for clips and full episodes.

Hi, everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying some time off this week... ABC treated us to a brand new episode of Grey's Anatomy last night and I still need to catch up on the latest drama at Seattle Grace. So, feel free to post your thoughts here and I'll be sure to write up a full recap soon. Episode Recap: Crash Into You (Part One)Sorry for the delay, everyone! I wish I could have watched this episode sooner, but better late than never. So, let's get to recapping... Watching Cristina "dance it out" at the start of this episode was priceless! Mer, on the other hand, probably won't be joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars anytime soon. It was almost like watching Elaine dance on Seinfeld, but I guess that's beside the point. In between her moves, I was glad to hear Mer finally say that she didn't want Derek seeing other people. Unfortunately, when the moment came for her to tell him, she chickened out and walked away. Oh, well. Judging from the previews, it looks like next week she'll finally work up enough nerve to let him know. I'm also starting to feel really bad for Izzie, who every week looks more and more like a third wheel around Cristina and Meredith. It's obvious that the latter two have a special bond, but it seems like Izzie could really use her girlfriends right now and neither of them seem to be there for her. I know, Izzie broke up a marriage, but it wasn't entirely her fault! I guess I'd just like to see Mer and Cristina rally around her, even for just a little bit. Then there's Bailey, who had a really rough day, but she managed to remain calm, cool and collected through it all. In fact, somewhere between her husband repeatedly telling her "you're never here," to the racist paramedic insisting on having a white doctor work on him instead, I was fully ready to see Bailey lash out. She never did though. Instead, she chose to "rise above it all." In retrospect, Bailey had a lot of poignant moments in this episode and one of my favorites (as another poster already mentioned), occurred in the OR between her and George, when she told him, "Don't interrupt me when I'm calling on Jesus. I don't do it very often and I'm afraid He might not hear me." I'll be curious to find out next week how that surgery ends up and what becomes of Mr. Bailey when he realizes his wife won't be coming to lunch. The ambulance crash took me by surprise and was tough to stomach. It was hard watching Stan ( Theo Rossi) realize that he was never going to survive that crash and it was harder yet, watching his wife, Sara (Shanelle Workman), say her last goodbyes. Part of me kept thinking, if they could only free him from the tangled mash of metal quickly enough, maybe they could save him from bleeding out. Then when Stan noticed that his fellow EMT, Ray, had an oxygen regulator embedded in his side, I started to wonder if anyone was going to survive this accident. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait an extra week to find out what the future holds for three out of the four paramedics involved in that crash. For Nick ( Seth Green), the future also looks bleak, which makes me even more sad because I really liked the relationship he had going with Lexie. I knew it was just a matter of time before his artery would burst, but I felt like it was a bit overdone when it actually happened. Nonetheless, I’m still hopeful that he'll manage to survive and that he'll be able to make Lexie forget about Alex. Speaking of "the jerk," was it just me, or did it seem like he wasn't all that into Rebecca when she showed up again? I know he was in a hurry because he was heading into surgery, but it seemed like he was about to brush her off, shortly before he caved into her request to observe him in action. I wonder if that might mean his feelings for Lexie are now stronger than the ones he had for Rebecca. I suppose only time will tell. In other relationship news, Derek and Rose are still playfully getting to know each other. I liked how he asked her if they were friends yet, only to follow that up by saying a friend would let her know that she had licorice stuck in her teeth, while an acquaintance would simply "smile and pretend it wasn't there." Another highlight for me was watching Mark try to impress Dr. Hahn with his sensitive side, only to hear her tell him, "I’m not looking for a window into your wounded soul." Mark, give it up already; she's just not that into you! Overall, this was a great episode with a lot of intense moments. I can't wait to see what happens in the follow-up, two weeks from now. In the mean time, we could debate about who will survive next week and who will not...and how lives will be changed from the outcome. Bailey and Derek, discussing hair products. Chandra Wilson, Patrick Dempsey by Richard Cartwright/ABC
Episode Recap: "Forever Young" (November 15, 2007)Tonight, Bailey took charge and let the residents know there was a new boss in town, but she soon lost her drive when an old crush, Marcus ( D.B. Woodside), appeared in the ER. So, while I was excited to see the old Bailey laying down the law early on, I was equally disappointed to see her turn to mush for a guy who obviously used her all throughout high school. And so we had our theme for the night---Seattle Grace is just like high school! While George and Izzie did their best to avoid each other tonight, rumors regarding their rocky relationship kept cropping up everywhere. I have to admit, watching Izzie confront George by saying, "I heard we broke-up," certainly took me back to my school days. Sure, the hallway dramas back then were painful to watch and even more painful to be a part of, but a part of me found myself longing for those days again. Thanks for making me all sentimental, Shonda! Of course, at every school there's usually some sort of clique hierarchy and with the schoolbus crash, there was plenty of evidence of that at the hospital. For that reason, my heart went out to Marissa ( Madeline Zima), the young girl who obviously didn't fall in line with the "cool kids" and who ended up losing her one best friend, Danny (Stephen Sowan). My question is this: Did Derek really have to tell her in the waiting area that Danny would never wake from his coma? Surely, he could have taken her to a more private place to give her that kind of news, especially when it was so obvious that there plenty of prying eyes around them! On the other hand, it was nice that Izzie tried to comfort Marissa by assuring her that she would get through this difficult time and that no one would know better than her, because she was once the "girl in cheap clothes..." Meanwhile, Meredith and Lexie had a rough night of their own. When Mr. Grey showed up at the hospital, he was definitely drunk and full of heartfelt apologies and compliments for Meredith. I even found myself thinking this was a turning point for the two of them, a chance for them to reconnect and heal old wounds. Alas, that was not the case, as Lexie later shattered my hopes by telling Meredith this behavior was typical of her father and that it was basically meaningless. Once again, infusing a little humor and lightheartedness into the evening was Mark! Perhaps the most classic moment came when Mark thought two young girls were checking him out in the cafeteria. He suggested that females have been ogling over him since he was a kid and that it still continues. So, how funny was it that when he called his would-be admirers over, the truth was they were only staring and smiling at him because they reminded them of the one girl's dad? There were plenty of other feel good moments tonight, though. Watching the Chief take on a protective, fatherly role for Meredith was heart-warming and the fact that Dr. Hahn finally paged Cristina for her assistance was a small, but also gigantic step for the two of them on both a personal and professional level. And while George insinuated to Bailey that Marcus deserved "a long speech," it was a very revealing moment when she chose to unleash her anger on Derek, with his "hair products," instead. Who would have guessed that Derek was once a scrawny band geek with acne? Oh, wait, that does sound familiar, now that I think about it... Can't Buy Me Love anyone? I'm also really glad that things didn't progress between Derek and Sydney, but it looks like Rose ( Lauren Stamile) is going to give Meredith some serious competition... What did all of you think about tonight's episode? Was Bailey really out of character tonight? Is Rose just a bit too much like Meredith? Let me know! Get more Grey's via our Online Video Guide!

Bailey's got a crush! Chandra Wilson, D.B. Woodside by Craig Sjodin/ABC
Talk about painful situations...last time we checked in with the Docs at Seattle Grace, Gizzie had hit rock-bottom (literally, on the bathroom floor) and Callie lost her job to Bailey! This week, it looks like love is in the air, when Bailey is reunited with an old high school crush and Derek ends up on a date with someone other than Meredith. Post your thoughts here and then come on back for the full recap, after the show!

Alex learns to "just say no." Justin Chambers by Ron Tom/ABC
Episode Recap: "Physical Attraction...Chemical Reaction" (November 8th, 2007)"Chemistry. Either you've got it, or you don't." And tonight, Gizzie fizzled! I thought it would bring me happiness to see this pairing finally come to an end, but it left me kind of sad instead. Here were two people who went to great lengths to be together, only to find that the thrill was gone, once the moment of truth came. And in the wake of all that drama, a marriage was destroyed and reputations have been tarnished. The question now is, where do George and Izzie go from here? On a happier note, the Chief did get a new girlfriend tonight. Okay, so that's not entirely true, but it was funny how Mark suggested that's what Derek had become. I'm loving the chemistry between all three of these guys, who remind me of schoolboys at recess the way they playfully tease and taunt one another. They definitely bring a fun element to the show, that otherwise seems to be lacking this season. Meanwhile, Cristina still can't catch a break with Dr. Hahn, who purposely removed her name from the surgery board this week. Hmmm, you could almost brand that one karma for Cristina. Remember how Cristina cleared Bailey's name from the surgical board, back during Burke's injured hand days? Still, it was hard to watch Cristina search for a new specialty, when you know the only thing she really wants to do is cardio. Hopefully, she can find a way to win over Dr. Hahn soon. It was fun to see Callie rocking out in the OR tonight, which then made me wonder---how many other surgeons get their drill on that way? Regardless, it was good to see Callie something other than stressed out and bogged down, the way she has been for the last few weeks. Yeah, I would say things were going pretty well for Callie today, up until she got fired for letting Bailey do her job. It's a shame, too, because I really thought this "day off" for Callie would have helped her clear her head and get back into the swing of things. Though there's no denying that Bailey makes a better Chief Resident. It was also nice to hear the Chief tell Bailey, "What you do and how you do it, makes this hospital work." Something tells me that those tears Bailey cried were out of relief over finally hearing those words, supportive words that Bailey has probably been waiting to hear her husband say. Proving that there is still some hope that Meredith and Lexie may someday become real friends, the two inadvertently began to bond over an adopted baby. When a random accident claimed the baby's mom, the father was left wondering if he could raise the baby alone, an infant that he felt he hardly knew. It was Meredith who told the dad, in words that were also meant for Lexie, that some people just need a little more time to bond, in order to feel like family. Speaking of Mer and Lexie...It was an interesting and surprising moment when Alex refused to have further relations with Lexie. My first thought was that he was nipping this one in the bud because he realized he was still too into Rebecca to pursue someone else, but that of course was not the case. Instead, Alex was attempting to end the casual love affair, per Mer's request. Though Alex suggested he really did it because he didn't want to deal with any more women who have issues. He did end up taking Lexie home from the bar though, again, per Mer's request. And it was at Lexie's house that we saw Mr. Grey, drunk and stumbling to his car. This was another moment I had pegged wrong, as I thought he was going to get in his car and have a fatal accident. Though I do think we will be seeing more of Mr. Grey in the near future. On the Mer/Der side of things, Mer is making progress. At least she's sticking around a little longer after their love sessions. But will that be enough? If what the promo for next week suggests really does turn out to be Derek on a date with another woman, Mer may need to kick it up a notch, or three. Last, but not least, I have to mention the Mark and Erica situation. I'm not sure how I feel about a potential relationship between these two. Mark does like his women on the sassy side, but Erica seems to think Mark's attraction to her is more about her confidence and her skill, rather than her more personal side. I don't know. These two just don't seem like a good fit to me. What do you think? Also, be sure to check our Online Video Guide for clips and full episodes of Grey's Anatomy.

Meanwhile, Cristina found herself fighting to get in on Dr. Hahn's surgeries and sparks failed to fly when George and Izzie tried to make a love connection in the bedroom. Monopoly anyone? Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey by Ron Tom/ABC
Episode Recap: "Kung Fu Fighting" (November 1st, 2007)Well, tonight wasn't exactly the evening I had anticipated at Seattle Grace, but it was still a fun night. The highlight of which, was every scene shared by Derek and Mark, as they tried to decipher what the Chief meant by "a gentleman's evening." It did sound dirty and with three eligible bachelors in attendance, it certainly had the potential to involve tassels. So, I can't help but wonder how it might have ended up, if Dr. Hahn had not crashed the party. And while we're on the subject of Dr. Hahn, I have to say, I'm having a hard time adjusting to her cut-throat style. I realize she's a no-nonsense type of person, but cutting Cristina out of that heart surgery tonight was just cruel. Especially when it was Cristina that provided the answer to how they could operate on Mr. Arnold ( Cullen Douglas), avoid using the anesthesia he was allergic to and ultimately save his life. Okay, so some credit does belong to Izzie here. After all, she did take the time to think about how Mr. Arnold would feel in that OR and she knew to hide the monitors, so that he couldn't see the actual surgery being performed on him. Heck, she even thought to post a picture of an ivory-billed woodpecker on his drip bag, just to help keep him focused on his goals. And then there was also that great idea she got to calm Mr. Arnold down, after he realized he was being watched by a multitude of doctors. Her suggestion to compare the docs to birds worked like a charm and he was right on the money with his choices. My favorite analogy was Cristina being compared to a purple sandpiper, who according to him is known for being a tough bird and a survivor. As for the ladies fighting to hold on to the wedding dress tonight in order to win a $100,000 wedding package, well, I give them props for their determination, but come on! If you end up in a bloody mess at the ER with a dislocated shoulder and other injuries, is it really worth it? Sounds like Cristina needs to use her psych book to do a little analyzing for those two. Though I will say this sub-plot did lend itself to a nice monologue from Callie: "You shouldn't have to fight this hard for a wedding. You fight this hard for a marriage. You need to know when to let go! Just let go!" You tell 'em, Callie! And I was also glad to hear Callie tell George that she was ready to let go of "them," too. I also need to mention that it was great to see David Denman as Rick, the barely injured sky-diver tonight. David, also known as Roy in The Office, happens to be one of my TV crushes, so it was a nice surprise to see him in this episode. Missed the scruffy look he usually has going though. And on another note, it was interesting to see that George and Izzie failed to connect in the bedroom tonight, despite their "hot" plans to do so, from earlier in the day. Izzie broke down into tears from exhaustion (courtesy of the open-heart surgery she participated in), and George agreed that he too, wasn't up for a night of romping (due to his tired arm). I don't doubt that Izzie really was drained or that George's arm was sore, but I also think there's more going on here than that, and dare I say it, this could be the turning point where we finally start to see their romance unravel! So, what did all of you think of tonight's episode? Do you think Cristina will ever be able to get into Dr. Hahn's good graces? Will Gizzie fall apart now? Let me know your thoughts!
