Read Supernatural – NRFTW – Tripping the Chasm
Every pore of my body is leaching with despair and torment after watching Supernatural’s No Rest For The Wicked episode.

I had been anticipating this episode with unhinged worry. I thought I had done a good job of bracing myself emotionally for what I felt could be coming. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

From the very opening sequence and close-up of Dean’s face when he awoke from his day-mere regarding the Hellhounds, to Sam’s gentle reassurances about saving him, it fore-shadowed the unfolding tragedy that was to come.

Jensen’s expert portrayal of Dean in the last stages of his deal was acting at its best.

Jared, as the distressed baby brother, willing to do anything to save his big brother, couldn’t have acted the part any better. He brought to life the incredible heartache of knowing that you’re going to be losing someone you love and that terrible panic that those last few hours take on in a desperate bid to do anything to try and make sure it does not happen.

Katie Cassidy did a great job both as her character of Ruby as well as channeling the Lilith character, particularly the part when she opened the doors for the Hellhounds and she looked at Sam and said “Yes, oh yes!”

I’m still not sure why Lilith would have kissed Sam.

I was taken aback when Dean punched Ruby in the face. It was shocking.

Jim Beaver as Bobby was just exceptional. It was so heartwarming when he said that family doesn’t end with blood and later when he called Dean – son.

There were some priceless one-liners – “Miss Universe of lying skanks”, among many others.

I loved the way they used the holy water with the sprinkler system and the fact that it gave Dean hope, at least for a few moments.

The poor family of the little girl that Lilith chose to inhibit.

There were many heart-touching moments with so much angst in them that they were almost unbearable to watch.

In the motel room, when Sam and Dean were trying to decide on the best way to deal with the impending battle - Dean: “All I’m saying Sammy is you’re my weak spot…and I’m yours”.

When they were in the Impala with Bon Jovi’s Dead or Alive playing. It was such a wonderful brotherly moment when Dean got Sam singing and the temporary laughter was so genuine and real.

The goodbye scene brought me to my knees emotionally. The look on their faces, the increased breathing, the knowing.

Sam: “What am I suppose to do?”

Dean: “Keep fighting. Take care of my wheels. Sammy, remember what Dad taught you, okay. And remember what I taught you”.

Then the looks on both their faces as tears brimmed, lips trembled and pure anguish, hanging in the air, as the clock struck 12:00.

The close-up of Dean’s face as he heard the hellhounds coming for him, that moment of stillness before the running and then the horrible reality of what was to transpire in that room.

Seeing Dean ripped apart and Sam crying out to him, unable to save him was very sad and upsetting.

I don’t know when Lilith slipped into Ruby’s body, but it fitted the storyline perfectly. Clearly, Lilith felt she had the upper hand in the whole matter. She was wrong in at least one way.

Whatever special gift Sam has, it was enough to send Lilith running.

From the look displayed on Lilith’s (Ruby) face, she made it clear that she thought she had dealt final blows to both the boys. When Sam rose from the floor, even before he had the knife, it was the look of fear that crossed her face and Lilith telling him “back” that said everything.

Dean’s fate:

I don’t believe Dean has descended into the total realm of Hell yet.

It was brilliant that the writers chose to use energy lines to snare Dean in.

There is a school of thought that believes that energy lines encompass and criss-cross the earth’s core, including unexplained chasms in multi-dimensional fields.

Taking a closer look at the mosaic of Dean’s injuries in relation to this, you will note that when the Hellhounds attacked, there was massive arterial spraying and pumping from Dean’s heart, including the shredding of his shirt, but with his jacket still on him.

Yet, later when we see Dean caught up in the web, you will see that there appears to be no injury to his heart, that the original side of his shirt is left unshredded and he is without his jacket.

Using the analogy of the body Meridian lines in terms of this portrayal, the Heart Meridian governs spirits and emotions in addition to blood circulation via the brain and the five senses. More importantedly however, it also functions as the mechanism which adapts external stimuli to the internal environment of the body.

Dean showed once again what an honourable human being he is. He ensured that Sam did not act out of desperation by sacrificing himself to save Dean. He showed once again why he’s the ultimate older brother.

I’m really hoping that he will be able to hold onto this core strength when faced with the upcoming challenges of where he is, using the energy paths as his jump point to get the hell out of there.

The scene that pierced my heart:

“Ut imago est animi voltus sic indices oculi (The face is a picture of the mind as the eyes are its interpreter)”. Cicero

The above quote says it all. I’m still crying over the way that Dean was restrained, the look of terror on his face and in his eyes, his injuries and his haunting screams.

But most of all, it was the way they used a hook in his right shoulder to hold him in one place. A hook? OMG – poor Dean!

Then, the words: “Somebody help me. SAM! SAM!”
Read Supernatural: Time is On My Side - Maggotedly Delicious
A feast for horror lovers was served up banquet style with Supernatural’s Time is On My Side episode.

From the hideous and harrowing victim scenes, the revolting back story of Bella’s character and the use of a serrated melon baller, there was a smorgasbord of choices for everyone.

Billy Drago was fantastic as creepy Dr. Benton. His portrayal was superb. I thought it was interesting when he was explaining to Dean that he never once took more than he needed. Even with his twisted mentality, he was right. The victim who walked into the hospital still had a portion of his liver, even if he was gutted and died later on. Livers can rejuvenate. Then the man who had only one kidney stolen, Dr. Drago didn’t take both. Talk about the ultimate statement in Conscious Consumption.

This leads me to the poor girl strapped to the table of horror and the maggots on her arm. What a mess that was.

A few years back, I was completing one of my courses in Forensic Sciences, and it was on Forensic Epidemiology. Through this course, I garnered a healthy respect for the miraculous way nature takes care of everything. Maggots are an important part of this process.

Maggots will usually group together in maggot masses. They certainly had a grouping going on, on that poor girl’s arm. Symbiosis necrosis was alive and well and working.

I’m not sure about the rest of you, but I would be uncomfortable having maggots on me at any time. It was hard to tell whether they used real ones or not, as the scene was so well done. Maggot Therapy is becoming more prominent in treatment these days of particularly septic wound injuries.

Sam was so kind to her, his gentle eyes and tender touches, trying to make her feel better under such dire circumstances. Jared is sure one fine actor.

I found Bella’s back story disturbing. Considering what was done to her as a child by her Father and her Mother’s implied agreement with it, she put her trust in a Demon who appeared to her, in the form of a little girl, on the innocent landscape of a swing set.

To a desperate child, looking for a way out from the abuse, selling her soul in exchange for having her parents killed and being freed from the abuse for ten years, would have seemed like a long time before her deal was due.

We now understand why Red Sky at Morning was so significant to her storyline, the resolution of why she took the Colt and the fact that it is Lilith who also holds her contract.

Fast forwarding to the scene with Dean in the hotel room, I’m glad he did not end up killing her. When he looked up and saw the simple hanging of the Devil’s Shoestring herb over her door, in the hopes of protection from the evil coming for her, his eyes displayed his core sense of honour.

He’s a smart one, our Dean is. Having the blow-up dolls in the beds was the ultimate “gotcha” to Bela.

Regarding the phone call she made, does Ruby have a cell phone?

I’m not sure if we’ve seen the last of Bela. The last view of her looking out the window, with the distant sounds of hounds, I think could go either way.

As you know, I’ve never been a fan of the Bela character. I do feel it is unfortunate that the wonderful actress Lauren Cohan however will not be affiliated with SN once her storyline ends.

It was good to see Bobby again, even if it was for such a short time. I hope that the charcter Rufus Turner, well acted by Steven Williams, will make a return performance. He was gritty and edgy and added an interesting dimension to the show.

The big gross-out for me was the build-up for the use of the melon baller on Sam’s eyes. It was simply horrifying. The way the Doc had taped his eyes open, then stroked Sam’s forehead, before moving in with the baller was so cringe worthy. I kept replaying it over and over and over in my mind, its like I’m running from it and I can’t get the visual to leave.

I can’t help but wonder if there is more to this scene than meets the eye (no pun intended). The expression an “eye for an eye” came to my mind last night while watching it.

Can you imagine the discussions that must have taken place during their weekly meeting about this particular scene. I can just picture Kripke rubbing his hands together in anticipatory glee.

Jared really portrayed the desperation his character Sam was feeling when it came to the discussion with Dean about entertaining the possibility of allowing the Doctor to help Dean via translating the formula. Jensen did a remarkable job of setting Sam straight on this particular matter.

I felt my panic level rise when they buried Dr. Benton alive. It certainly was graphic and disturbing. The journal on top of the chains holding the container shut, said a lot.

The interaction between Sam and Dean in the motel room and telling each other to be careful, before the look they exchanged as they separated said it all. It was touching and warm and incredibly well acted.

In regards to next week’s preview, do you think Dean could be going to the Realm of the Dead, as opposed to Hell? The Realm of the Dead is often thought of as the Underworld. It consists of an entryway or location in the physical world, or in the form of an afterlife, which can be visited by living persons without them having to die to gain entry.

In addition, Black Dogs, in some cultures, are considered to be guardians of treasure, either in human form or animal form. They also tend to prefer trails or roads to hunt their prey or protect their treasure. With Dean running down the trail in next week’s preview, I wonder if this will have any significance?

Next week is going to come too soon. I sincerely hope the Actors’ Strike does not take place. From a fan's perspective, waiting until the Fall to find out what is going to happen will be long enough. I hate to think the wait could be prolonged with yet another strike.

Just a little aside:
As you know, Jensen will begin filming My Bloody Valentine 3D, on Monday in Pittsburgh. A few weeks back, I contacted the Pittsburgh Film Office to check into the possibility of being a background actor or extra on the film. I thought it would be a lot of fun. Alas, I am not a citizen of the US and therefore am ineligible to apply.

I thought perhaps maybe one of my US blogging buddies might like to try for it. Can you imagine the bragging rights? Here is the link: . They are presently not casting for extras on the movie, but this could change at anytime I was advised. Good luck and have fun!

Read Supernatural: Long-Distance Call - We're going to lose him
featuredpost.jpg
Supernatural’s Long-Distance Call has left me feeling like I’m wearing a wool coat on a hot Summer Day. It contained many moments of augury and foreboding.

Jared and Jensen did a sensational job of portraying their characters’ interactions and reactions. The bickering, the emotions, the understated panic were exceptionally well acted. It felt real and genuine.

It was so good to hear Big Daddy Winchester’s voice again. I sure miss Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Regarding the Crocotta, did anyone else think that once again, the Supernatural writers were superb in their attention to detail?

A Crocotta is considered a death scavenger. In nature, a vulture is considered much the same thing. As you know, a vulture has a bald head. What you may not know, is that this is so the bacteria from the food it devours can escape through it. I thought it was interesting that the Crocotta also had a bald head.

I had a good chuckle when Dean asked Sam if a Crocotta was a sandwich.

My heart sank with the Crocotta’s use of children to get his needs filled.

Using Lanie’s mother to try and lure her and her little brother to their deaths was horrible.

Then, that son of a gun tries to use Big Daddy Winchester to lure out Dean. The parallel of a scared little boy in a grown up body, willing to trust that it was his Dad reaching out to help him, was heartbreaking.

It spoke to the desperation that Dean is feeling as his time is drawing closer.

Then, we have this exchange:

Father of the dead little girl: “Then what are you doing here?”
Dean: “I don’t know”

Oh, those eyes and that lost look, I just wanted to reach in to the tv and grab him and hug him.

This photo has made my heart ache before, because I think that this is what it's going to be like in Hell for Dean (except that he won't have his guns):

Near the end, when Dean said to Sam that he was scared, so scared, this upset me terribly. Here’s the ultimate “keep it to myself” type of guy, really sharing his emotions and you have Sam, clearly trying, but just not able to offer a lot, except verbal succour. Then the moment was gone. Yet, Dean still offers Sam a beer. Ever the wonderful big brother. When Dean casts that sideways glance at Sam and slightly shakes his head, I wonder what he was going to say, but didn’t.

For me, the most heart twisting moment was at the very end, when Sam looked at Dean, just looked at him. I wonder what he was thinking.

One hundred and twenty-minutes, that’s all Dean has left before his time comes due.

Keeper, I think you’ll need to open up your whole Sanitarium to accommodate the influx of disconsolated individuals on May 15th.
Read Supernatural - Ghostfacers totally rocked! B-)
ghostfacers-01-thumb.jpg
Laugh a minute
Oh man, from the raw and gritty images to the bleeped out language, fun humor and Dean giving the camera the finger, Ghostfacers provided a fantastic bridge between the seriousness of Jus in Belo and next week’s episode - Long Distance Call.

I drove myself and everyone else around me to the brink, in eager anticipation of the return of Supernatural. I was not disappointed.

It was so great to see Ed (A. J. Buckley) and Harry (Travis Wester) again – I love those guys. Corbett (Dustin Milligan) was such a cutie. I feel bad for what happened to him. Maggie (Brittany Ishibashi) and Spruce (Austin Basis) did great jobs.

The cast and crew must have had one of the best times making this delightful episode.

I loved when the guys drove up in the Impala and you could hear the engine just purring and then to have Grand Funk Railroad’s We’re An American Band playing, just capped that whole scene.

What’s the deal with the new Impala license plate number? Anybody have any ideas on this one?

The Morton Mansion was pretty creepy and when Dean finds those toe tags and the “eww” factor that went around the room, I thought was priceless.

Years ago, there was a movie entitled Happy Birthday to Me, starring Melissa Sue Anderson (of Little House on the Prairie fame). It took me a long time to get that birthday party scene out of my head, with all the dead bodies around the table as she celebrated her birthday. Last night’s scene with the party brought it all back again.

The actors did a superb job of portraying their respective parts. On one side we have the Ghostfacers doing their thing and then we have Sam and Dean doing their thing. While the Ghostfacers were running around and being frightened, you have our guys all calm and protective – doing what they do best.:)

It was a fun episode, with lots of quirky and fun one-liners (chiseled chest, anyone?).

Soooooo, does anyone else have the Ghostfacers’ theme song stuck in their heads?:^O
Read Supernatural Los Angeles Con – My weekend with Demon Hunters
Magic and delight were in abundance at the Supernatural Los Angeles Convention this past weekend.

It was everything and more than I ever dreamed it could be.

Seeing Mary and Amy again in person and meeting Panns, Schroan, Mousitsa and Lady Talon was fantastic.

In addition, it was so wonderful seeing everyone from the Something Wicked Group. Hi Lynda, Kathy, Lynn, Becky, Ella, Sue and Julie.

I also met a lot of other lovely fan girls. Sharing this experience with everyone was so special.

The photo I brought with me to ask Jensen to sign got me into trouble in Toronto. For whatever reason, Jensen’s photo lit up the security system and I was pulled out of the lineup and I was searched as well as my carry-on luggage.

I explained to the security personnel that Jensen has that effect on people, he just lights them up, but it was the first time I’d seen a photo of him do it.

Toronto security did not have a sense of humour!

For those of you who knew, I just wanted to confirm that the PTPs did make an appearance as well as my pink LA purse.

Lynda and I hooked up at the airport and waited while they found a new plane. We made it and after checking in, we met for a lovely dinner. Thanks again Lynda.

The next morning I was up early (I figure that during my whole time in LA, I had at most eleven hours sleep) and swam in the beautiful pool before having a great breakfast. I know it sounds crazy, but candied pecans as part of a buffet breakfast sure made an impression on me.

The morning passed and Mary and I met in the lobby and joined up with two fan girls, Winter and Vickie. We also met Mousitsa and we all enjoyed ourselves hanging out together. Mary and I were invited to join them on their trip to Piru.

It ended up being the four of us and Mary, Winter, Vickie and I had a delightful time in Piru, where the Supernatural pilot was filmed. The weather was warm and the town was quiet. A lovely place.

We took pictures of the bridge and walked on it. We had fun figuring out where the boys took the dive off the bridge. I was fully planning on re-enacting the lady in white standing on the ledge scene, but thought better of it when I saw what I would probably land on.

When Winter said we were going to go further down and look at the gas station, it didn’t dawn on me at first what she meant. Then, it did. What a great surprise that was. It’s tiny and had clearly been dressed so differently for the pilot, but it was still recognizable as one of the key referencing points for this episode. Terms like “cakehole” and “Hector” kept popping up. It was great!

The people of Piru were so welcoming. A special thank you to Eva, the owner of the general store for her assistance.

After leaving the main street, we drove up to this beautiful lake and took some photos and then proceeded back down the side of the mountain to look for the disappearing mystery mansion. (Visions of Vancouver eh Mary?) We finally found it and it’s a really neat place, which could sure be used for either a fantasy movie or a haunted movie.

The traffic on the 405 is horrendous. My sympathies to anyone who has to drive in LA traffic on a daily basis.

During the drive back, Mary’s cell phone rang and it was Met. Mary had other plans for the evening so Met and I made plans to hook up for dinner.

When we got back, we went to our respective rooms and decided to regroup in the lobby. It was a good chance to freshen up. With regards to the hotel, the convention was held at the Airport Marriott and it was lovely. The attention to detail, including the Bath and Body Works toiletries was very much appreciated.

I met Amy and Schroan in the lobby and before we went for supper, we decided to go down and see where things were happening. After checking it out, we were getting back on the elevator, when this couple was getting off. I heard “Sandra”. It turned out to be Panns and her husband. What great timing. We all greeted each other and then headed to Amy’s room to help her decide on her autograph photos. What a lovely selection to choose from.

Later, Amy, Schroan, Melissa, Vickie, Winter and I went for dinner at Denny’s, before registering for the Con.

To see Chris, the Creation photographer, was great. This guy is a league unto his own. He has to be Creation’s greatest asset. It was a lot of fun to see him again.

The Jason Manns concert was really good. He’s a very gifted musician who plays a wide variety of music and has a great sense of humour. The concert was a lot of fun.

Afterwards, a group of us gathered for drinks and had a lot of fun hanging out. Mary showed us her line of Supernatural University wear and accessories. Please check out Mary’s line at: .

Many of us gathered for breakfast on Saturday morning at Burger King, before the day’s events really got going. I was so hyped up just thinking about meeting Chad Lindberg (Ash) that I could feel myself just shaking internally. He’s right up there with Jared and Jensen in my books.

Frederic Lehne was first on the stage with a presentation and a Q and A, which went well. I also understand his photo-ops went well too.

Here is a photo of Eric and Fred meeting in person for the first time.

The photo-op with Jason Manns went really good. He’s a truly nice guy. My friend Cassie is his number one fan, so this is for you my dear girl.

The autograph session with Jason was great and Cassie, your autograph is on its way to you.

As the time leaked closer to meeting Chad, I was beyond hyped, so much so, that Lynn and Kathy suggested that I perhaps should maybe consider reducing my Starbucks quota – lol.

Then, it was time. I was near the front for the photo-op with Chad and while I was waiting in line, I saw him walk by and my heart shifted.:-x

When my turn came, I shook his hand, explained how very much I enjoyed all his work and explained how pleased I was to meet him. Well, he said a few kind words and then he asked me for a hug. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. He’s a great hugger and sure made my weekend. Throughout the course of the day and the dessert party, he gave me two more hugs, I could not believe my good fortune. Chad was everything and more than I had hoped for, what a sweetie.

Chad’s Q and A session was great. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, because there may be a chance that Ash could come back, which I petitioned Eric for later on.

One of the most unusual questions during this session was whether it was really Chad’s arm they used in the burned out roadhouse scene – it wasn’t.

During the scene when Sam and Dean are knocking on Ash’s door and he answers it and looks naked, he confirmed he actually was.

It got even funnier for me, because at the autograph portion with Chad, what photo did I bring for him to sign – the one where he greets Sam and Dean. I laid the photo on the table and Chad says “the NAKED photo” and laughed. I felt myself turning red and he was just so cute about it all.

To meet Eric Kripke was an honour. What a great individual. He had so much to say and he sure clearly loves the gore that goes with horror movies.

He explained that AC/DC and Quiet Riot are fans of the show. He explained that he would love to use Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog in an episode, but the cost would be in the millions. He’s just finishing off the last of this season’s episode, which sure promises to be a humdinger. He feels that perhaps Bella taking advantage of the boys has been done too often and this will be rectified. Bella’s character will not be redeemed, she’ll continue to be like she is, but more of her back story will be revealed. He loves the character of Ruby. Lilith as a little girl is basically just a meat suit for the demon to harbour in, there will be shifts and far more of the demon/myth arc will be played out.

He loves the fans of the show, even though we sometimes drive him crazy.

During the autograph line-up he was so open to suggestions about the show. He enjoyed the Route 66 postcard I asked him to sign and his face positively lit up when Panns presented her lovely collage for him to sign. It was really enjoyable to watch.

Steve Carlson gave a fantastic show on Saturday night. The audience was a bit slow at first to get involved, but it ended up with dancing in the aisles and was lots of fun.

I was very impressed with Steve for not charging for his autographs. I was speaking to some of the girls in the autograph line-up on Sunday and this made a big difference to them and I thought here’s one guy who sure gets his fans and helps where he can. He’s very laid back and easy going. The photo-op with Steve was fun.

The dessert party on Saturday night was great. There was a lovely selection to choose from. Frederic, Chad and Steve came up on stage so we could take pictures.

Steve left shortly after and Frederic and Chad made their ways around the room. It was great.

Sunday morning came very early for almost all of us. It seemed to be a common thread amongst everyone – a restless sleep for fear of not getting up in time for the BIG day festivities.

Schroan and I hooked up for the breakfast and we had a super sight line for the stage. Breakfast was great and we had a chance to bid on the Silent Auction items, with the proceeds going to Jared’s and Jensen’s designated charities – St. Judes and Doctors Without Borders. Amy connected with us and we made our plans for later on.

At approximately 9:00 am, Jared and Jensen came in, to much applause and delight. They greeted everyone and then Jared announced his engagement to Sandy. It was one of those moments in time, you suspected it, but then to have it validated, the reaction was a bit delayed as the information was processed and then the applause started.

To me, it was like a good friend announcing a wonderful life moment and you are just so glad that you’re there for the announcement and to share it.

Jared proposed to Sandy on January 28th in France in their hotel room. They’d been at the Louvre previously and Jared could not believe the attention he/they received, considering all the art that was surrounding them. He explained that he did not want to take the chance of having the proposal interrupted.

Ranger, I asked the question you had wanted to know about in relation to the Mystery Spot episode, when they’re in the restaurant and doing the same wording sequencing. Both Jared and Jensen contributed to the answer.

They are picked up by a driver and practice their lines on the way to work, so they were going back and forth with it. They got it down pretty pat and it took only a few tries to get it correct on film. They both said they had a lot of fun doing it.

Near the end of the breakfast, there was time for one more question. A mother of a very ill girl stood up and explained what Supernatural and Jared and Jensen meant to her daughter and how it had helped her.

Jensen was so cute, when he asked for the daughter’s name, so he’d know what his future girlfriend’s name was going to be. :) Her name is Jamie.

After the breakfast, you could just feel the energy begin to ramp up in anticipation of the photo-ops. It was electric and filled the rooms.

Panns had saved a space for Amy and me and when we arrived, to my delight, there was Maiko, one of the girls I had met in Texas at the play, but hadn’t seen since, in the line-up behind Panns. It was fun to catch-up.

Amy and Panns were ahead of me in Jensen’s photo-op line-up. It was so much fun to watch them get their pictures with Jensen and see the interactions. I love this part of the experience.

Jensen wore the same white linen shirt he’d worn on the opening night in Texas at the play. It suits him so well and if you look closely, you can see the exceptional embroidery detail on the shirt.

Jensen truly warmed my heart, as always.:-x

My turn then came. I walked up and went to shake Jensen’s hand and started to say how nice it was to see him again. I didn’t really have a chance too, because he took my hand and pulled me into a hug and said how nice it was to see me again. Well, what a positively unexpected and joyous exchange. It was all kinds of wonderful.:-x

Creation Entertainment pitched the duo photo op perfectly. If anyone out there is undecided on which one to go with, this would be the one to choose. What great fun! Honestly, it was an amazing experience.

When my turn came, I walked up and congratulated Jared on his engagement and said how nice it was to see him again and I said hi to Jensen.

As Chris, the fantastic Creation photographer, got all set, the boys came up close on either side of me. And here we go…I trembled - no doubt about it. Jensen looked down at me and asked me if I was okay and I looked up at him and squeaked “Aaah, yeah”. We all had a good chuckle.

What I couldn’t get out of my mind was how protected and secure I felt. I know it may sound a bit off the wall, but it ran through my mind at the time, that if I was encountering any demons, these were absolutely the guys I’d want to protect me. What a memory this will always be.

[urlhttp://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee161/SJJCM/Los%20Angeles%20March%202008/_MG_1938.jpg

The photo-op with Jared was simply fantastic. He is so welcoming and friendly and a wonderful hugger.

During the photo-ops, the guys took a short break and walked down the hall, with their security, right by me. Here is one of the photos.

The Q and A was so much fun. It was Jared first, then Jensen and then them both together. They were all so relaxed and easygoing and fun. There was a myriad of questions asked and Jensen’s re-enactment of Jared was gut splitting, he nailed it perfectly.

If anyone watches the Q and A vids from the boys session, you’ll see at one point Jared is looking around taking it all in while Jensen is speaking. I was watching Jared doing this and when we made eye contact, I gave him a small wave. He waved back and smiled and we later joked about it in the autograph session.:-D

The autograph sessions with the guys were lots of fun. There was no rushing and ample time for conversation. There was also much more room in the autograph area at this Con than in Chicago and it worked out so well.

Jensen was first. You have to place your autograph request on the table with the handler and they place it in front of the star. I put mine down and Jensen, to my great surprise and pleasure, personalized mine. I was so happy.

I presented Jensen with my gift, and like the Chicago Con, he was very receptive to this one. In one of the SN groups I belong to, the Something Wicked group, a member, Amanda, was delighted when Jensen mentioned during one of his Australian interviews about this golf shirt he had been given. Well, as it turns out, it was the one Amanda had sent to him. I asked permission from the group and what I did, is that I printed off all the e-mails in relation to Amanda’s one confirming it was her shirt Jensen was talking about. I thought Jensen might like to read some real fan girl back and forth, based on something he said. Well, he loved it. His laughter was genuine.

I had attached to this package a copy of Rascal Flatt’s My Wish lyrics as well as one of my own very favourite sayings and tied them all together with a specialized metal tag.

When Jensen read the saying, he looked at me with a smile breaking across his face. That moment will be forever etched in my memory. :-x

My Dad, in his words, believes Jensen to be “a very honourable young man” and asked me to pass along his well wishes to Jensen. I figured a picture was worth a thousand words so I pulled out a photo of me and my Dad and explained the story to Jensen. He took the photo while I explained the story and his response to my Dad will forever endear Jensen to me. His heart is pure gold!

Then came Jared. His smile and deep voice are so welcoming. Once again I placed down my photo and a special thanks to Masked Chic for posting the photo I used (the one with Jared’s face looking so serious in Mystery Spot, just after hugging Jensen). Jared did the same as Jensen and personalized my photo. Oh man, I couldn’t believe it, I was beyond excited.:)

I did something different with my gift for Jared. I had included the Rascal Flatt’s My Wish lyrics, tied with a special tag and also a selection of my favourite Calvin and Hobbs cartoons. I figured/hoped that Jared was a fan. He looked at the package and started to laugh. He explained to me that he use to read Calvin and Hobbs all the time in his room growing up at home and how great it was to see them again.:-D

I congratulated him on his engagement again and he looked at me and smiled and said “Thank you, that means a lot”.

Sandy McCoy is simply adorable. This was her first con and she did so well. She explained how nervous she was. She is very down to earth and in my opinion, her and Jared make a great couple. I’m sure they will have the most wonderful life together and I wish them all the very best.

Sandy was very gracious when it was my turn for the photo-op. She has a lovely and welcoming smile. I walked up and shook her hand and congratulated her on her engagement and she thanked me and then said “I know you, from Chicago and your blog”. I was left speechless. What could I say? It took me a few seconds to recover and then I sincerely thanked her. She is truly a lovely person.

The Q and A session with Sandy was so much fun. She relayed an adorable story about Jared’s proposal to her. He had been walking around the hotel room, thumping his chest. Sandy knew he had been working out and wondered if maybe she had not complimented him enough and he was trying to draw attention to his buffed up body. As it turns out, Jared was so nervous, he was thumping his chest to work up the courage to propose. Now, how adorable is that? She also explained that Jared is basically a softy inside, with a gentle heart.

In preparing for her role as one of the Crossroads Demons, Sandy explained that she had studied the work of the other actresses in this role and that she was very nervous with this part. We all assured her she did a great job.

I wanted to give a shout-out to Gary and Adam, the co-owners of Creation Entertainment. They are very dedicated to their fan base and are totally accessible and on-site during the cons.

Before I forget, Panns and I did spot one unexpected guest in the audience.

A group of us shared a farewell meal on the Sunday evening, before separating and going our respective ways. It was lots of fun, full of warmth and excitement and shared conversations about the weekend events and our lives. Nadine and Becky, thank you so much for helping me figure out my portion of the bill. I was so tired, I couldn’t even see clearly.

From every aspect, the time in Los Angeles was special in every way. Time could have passed me by and I would have been very content to stay and live in the moments that happened. But alas, it all ended too soon and I had the unexpected pleasure of having Tom Welling on my flight home, via Vancouver. What a nice guy.

Supernatural has been responsible for friendships blossoming and lives being enriched. Moments of time are etched forever in memories, to be treasured and warmly recalled.

I’m sitting at the top of the rainbow, with no plans to slide down any time soon.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful Supernatural journey with me.:-x

Pray that your journey be long,

Do not fear the monsters of old...
You will not meet them in our travels
If your thoughts are exalted and remain high,
If authentic passions stir your mind, body and spirit,
You will not encounter fearful monsters
If you do not carry them within your soul,
If your soul does not set them up in front of you.”

Read Supernatural: Jus in Bello - For the love of another
How can we be so darn lucky? How is it that week after week, we are treated to the absolute best that television has to offer?

Jus in Bello was supreme! The nuances, the camera angles, the revealing storyline all enhanced a remarkable episode.

Regarding acceptable practices while engaged in war, the agreements are referred to as the jus in bello.

I felt the acceptable practices discussions and decisions were beautifully portrayed throughout last evening’s episode, particularly in the sequence where you had SA V. Henricksen (so well played by Charles Malik Whitfield) and Dean more or less siding together against Ruby and a quiet Sam in the decision of whether to sacrifice Nancy Fitzgerald (Aimee Garcia, who played her part so well).

Then again, at the end of the episode, when you had Ruby coming to see the boys and telling them that they were going to do it her way from now on.

Did anyone notice the very evident purple colour in the demon smoke? The writers tied this aspect very well into the story.

Purple is considered a colour for people seeking spiritual fulfillment, it symbolizes magic and royalty. Thursday’s colour is purple.

Here’s the clincher – most children love the colour purple, and as we know, Lilith in this episode was a child, so I don’t believe the use of the colour purple was random.

I must say, I was not thrilled at all that a child has been chosen as the Ultimate Evil one. Having said that though, by choosing a girl and the name Lilith, it taps right into the whole evil spirits, good versus evil scenario.

Here’s a brief description of the name Lilith: “Derived from Assyrian lilitu meaning "of the night". This was the name of a demon in ancient Assyrian myths. In Jewish and Islamic tradition she was Adam's first wife, sent out of Eden and replaced by Eve because she would not submit to him. The offspring of Adam and Lilith were the evil spirits of the world.”

I found it intriguing that white eyes and not dark eyes were used when Lilith moved into her mode.

Could this be a red herring, could the true evil one, be the one holding Lilith’s hand?

Demons often mingle the truth about the future. Mothers of demons include: Naaman, Agrah, Mahalath and Lilith.

The wanted poster on the wall, for Molly Baker, was clearly evident two times in the episode. Did anyone else think she looked a lot like the woman holding Lilith’s hand? I’d be interested to hear what people think of this idea.

Bela truly irked me last night. I know the guys got the big issue of them being looked for by the police resolved, but I thought to myself, they need to get her, get her good and get her soon.

Ruby was really good last night.

I feel bad that they killed off Henricksen. I thought it was so good when the boys shook his hand near the end, showing no hard feelings.

I love the true exchange between him and Dean, two men, once on opposite sides, coming together to fight the good fight.

“Dean: Honestly, I think the world's going to end bloody. But it doesn't mean we shouldn't fight. We do have choices. I choose to go down swing’in.”

When Sam and Dean were on the cot in the cell earlier in the episode, chained together and Henricksen made that comment about Dean not seeing his little brother ever again, it made my heart jump a bit, for I believe that hell must be a lot like prison.

I thought it was well done when Sam sat right up when Henricksen started to criticize John, not sure what Dean’s reaction was going to be.

Waiting for the siege to begin was very well done. It felt like I was almost part of that scene.

Regarding the tattoos on Sam and Dean, if they are to be protection tattoos, why were they not closer to the throat chakra? From what I saw, the pentagram is included in the sun. What I couldn’t determine, is if the circle surrounding the pentagram is broken in design. The reason that this is important, is because to have full protection, you need to have two complete unbroken circles surrounding the pentagram. How does everyone else feel about this?

The look on Dean’s face when he realized that Sam had not shared some key information with him was upsetting, almost like a look of betrayal and disbelief all wrapped into one. Both Jensen and Jared did a remarkable job in this episode.

With regards to Nancy being a virgin, I found it interesting that fresh blood would be required to cast this spell. In Roman times, Vestal virgins could not be shed of their blood, they were buried alive if a sacrifice had to be made (OMG – isn’t that terrible). But yet, in Demonology, fresh virginal blood is required. I don’t know, being buried alive or having my heart ripped out, both sound equally horrible.

Ultimately, here is my take on why I loved last night’s episode so much:

You have John who gave his soul for Dean, you have Dean who is giving his soul to save Sam, you have Sam who is willing to work with a demon to ultimately save Dean, any way he can. Last night you had Nancy, who was willing to have her heart ripped out to save her friends.

One of the highest regards for humanity, is the principle about loving your neighbour more than yourself, about being willing to give up your life to save that of someone else’s.

Supernatural displays this virtue to us in many ways.

Peace.:-x

Heartbreaking
What a brilliant episode!

The writers never cease to amaze me. I was astounded with their incorporation of Newton’s Three Laws of Motion into the story. A physic’s lovers delight to be sure.

“The experience of matter energy in space time requires a level of understanding that goes well beyond objective logic.”

First Law of Motion: Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.

Thank goodness we had Sammy trying to alter this law many times throughout the episode. Knocking Mr. Pickett as he walked by in the restaurant would be a good example of this.

Dean in fact tried to alter this law as well, by ordering sausages instead of bacon and by acknowledging the daughter who kept walking by. In the sequencing, the daughter had kept hitting Dean as she walked by him. This was a very good way to show the external force of motion theory.

Newton’s Second Law of Motion: The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma. Acceleration and force are, in this law, the direction of the force vector which is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.

The piano falling on Dean would be representative of this Law.

I’ll address Newton’s Third Law of Motion at the end of my blog.

I thought it was very well thought out that they used a dog in the story sequencing. The dog, in many mythologies symbolizes being the guardian of the gates of death. It is thought that a dog can also be a guide to a person’s hidden side of life when they enter sleep and death. In addition, a dog can be a messenger between the hidden and the visible worlds.

Another interesting concept that I felt was brought into the storyline is the relatively new concept of Holographic Subquantum-Mind Theory.

Louis Malklaka presented a very interesting paper on this whole concept.

In the restaurant, when Sam knew what Dean was going to say and they went through the whole “jinx” dialogue, to me, something deeper was much more at work here, in the form of telepathy.

As L. Malklaka’s describes: “Telepathy can be similarly understood: when two people develop a close rapport, a 'resonance” between themselves, their resonant signatures “overlap” to a certain extent, allowing for the 'sharing” of “data', and, in some cases, even their “programs' (personality traits, etc.).”

Here was this whole concept displayed beautifully in a seemingly benign scene.

Based on last night’s episode, I thought it was significant that a radio was chosen as the receiver of the Bio-energy and Orgone life matter. Because Dean kept dying and Sam kept reliving this over and over, it was apparent, that Dean’s aura was still very much coherent and attached to the human physical realm.

It was wonderful to see Richard Speight Jr. back as the Trickster. I found him to be far more serious in this episode than in Tall Tales. I haven’t made up my mind yet whether he will prove to be an alliance of the boys or a detractor of them.

"Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, only try to realise the truth: There is no spoon. Then you'll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself." Wiccan Magic

I do believe that by showing Sam the path though, that it helped to bring out the terror of what he is feeling in relation to losing Dean and the loss he is trying to cope with in terms of not being able to find a way to save his brother as of yet. I believe that ultimately, it will be Sammy, through his love of Dean that will be Dean’s saviour.

“Don't judge your future on a roll of the dice. Better remember: lighting never strikes twice” Huey Lewis and the Heartbreakers – Back in Time

It was wonderful to see the Village of Steveston again. This was the same area they filmed the episode Bloody Mary in.

Here’s a picture of our very own Mary taken in Steveston last October, when Mary and I visited.

My favourite law is the third law and here’s the reason why: Sam hugging Dean.

Newton’s Third Law of Motion: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

For all the sadness and angst and upset with Dean dying that was invoked and then watching Sam pretending to live, during that three month period without Dean, it was the hug at the end and the earnest and loving look in Sam’s eyes when he realized that it was really Wednesday and that his brother was alive – it was a moment chocked full of heart soaked motion. To top it off, for Sam then to keep Dean safe in his innocence when he realized Dean didn't remember anything after the Trickster, it was just so beautifully jigsawed together piece by piece. My absolute favourite part of the episode.

“It was the heat of the moment, telling me what your heart meant, the heat of the moment shone in your eyes.”

Redeeming Light
"The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven."
John Milton, Paradise Lost

Supernatural’s Dream a Little Dream of Me episode floored me with its well crafted storyline and exceptional acting.

Jim Beaver was given a larger portion of the allotted time than he normally has. What a fine actor. It was interesting to learn some of his character’s back story, including the fact that he had a wife.

I thought Lauren Cohan’s character Bela was good. I wasn’t too comfortable with Sam’s dream sequence with her. I suppose I don’t have any reason in particular for feeling this way, but I just thought to myself – “No, I hope this doesn’t happen for real in some future episode”.

As always, both Jared’s and Jensen’s acting was outstanding.

I chuckled to myself when I noticed that four out of the six men in this episode had dimples in their chins. From Jared and Jensen to G. Michael Gray and Martin Christopher, it was a night for dimple delight.

I found it touching the way Bobby thanked Dean for saving him and the fact that Dean thought of Bobby like a father. I thought it was interesting the look on Sam’s face when he observed the two of them in the hospital room.

The African dream root, Silene Capensis, certainly lead the boys down an interesting path of dreams. They did what they did in the best interest of trying to save Bobby. In doing so, have they left themselves open for future demonic entry?

Which portal(s) did the demons use to enter Sam’s and Dean’s realities? As demons live in an out worldly realm, is it possible that the contact board Bela is using, is the actual portal to allow entrance? Could it be Sam’s psychic abilities (which had not been brought up for quite a while, but Bobby did bring up in this episode) allowing them in?

In Demonology, demons are said to present you with your past sins. They’re able to access your mind and uncover your wrong doings and will then try to embarrass you or humiliate you with them.

It was gut wrenching to watch Dean come face to face with his inner “demon” and confront his secret thoughts. The years of repressed resentment against John and the fact that Dean holds John responsible for Mary’s death, as well as feeling he had no control over being put in charge of taking care of Sam, had an almost violent overtone to the bitterness Jensen so finely portrayed.

Then we have Sam. Albeit, it was in the dream state, but he appeared to be hell bent on ensuring he killed G. Michael Gray’s excellently portrayed character of Jeremy Frost. Where did this anger come from? Was it the fact that he was feeling inadequate to begin with and somewhat of a failure in not being able to help Dean undo his deal, despite his very best efforts?

Regardless, both Sam and Dean looked very shaken and for clearly different reasons, when they awoke from their dream state.

Do you think the Fates will be able to alter Dean’s destiny?.

I’m getting a bit weary of Bela taking advantage of Sam and Dean. The writers seem to be giving her too much of the upper hand lately. It was just too obvious when Dean twirled the lock safe but didn’t re-check it to ensure the lock on the safe had re-engaged what was going to happen. I hope this type of thing won’t continue.

I’m glad Dean lied to Sam and did not tell him what he actually experienced in his dream state, for he truly loves Sam and this hurt would have been a lot for Sam to handle.

Possibly the most heart rendering moment of the show was when Dean finally told Sam out loud that he did not want to die and did not want to go to hell. The way Sam’s eyes mellowed out with sincere sympathy simply jumped off the screen. Sam’s understated acknowledgement of continuing to offer to help find a way to save Dean and Dean’s shaky response of “okay...good” nailed the path of the future storyline.

At the very end, when Dean snapped his fingers and looked directly into the tv screen, signifies the real fight to save himself beginning.

Two little notes in relation to this episode:

Met, IG, Mary and I were out in BC when this episode was being filmed. Met and IG had to leave earlier in the week. Mary and I continued on in BC. On Thursday, November 1st, it was Mary, Amanda, a fellow fan from Australia and I travelling the roads looking for episode site shootings. Although we didn’t see an actual shoot, it was a pleasant surprise to see some of the locale in this episode that we had driven by.

In Chicago, Jensen had mentioned that he had recently filmed some very tough emotional scenes by himself. I can certainly see now exactly what he meant.

Well folks, next Thursday is Valentine's Day and from the looks of it, a heart soaked new Supernatural episode awaits us as well.

Is it Thursday yet?

Well folks, it’s finally happened, I’ve gone dimensional over my “know no bounds, over the top” anticipation of the return of Supernatural with four new episodes starting tomorrow evening.

Even my photos are now reflecting what’s going on internally. This was me yesterday morning. Can you imagine what I’ll “look” like tomorrow?

Is anyone else as excited? Has anyone else entered another dimension in anticipation of the long awaited return? C’mon now, be honest.

Four new episodes, four slices of Heaven – all almost within our grasp.

Practicing patience is going to be hard for the next twenty-four hours.

My Wish
“I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
and each road leads you where you wanna go,
and if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
if it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile.
But more than anything, more than anything...

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but you never forget,
all the ones who love you, in the place you left,

I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
and you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
and always give more than you take.
But More than anything, yeah, more than anything...

Yeah.

Read A Very Supernatural Christmas - A Gift for the Heart!
What a wonderful and heart touching episode. It was exceptionally well done and beyond what I had hoped it would be.

I loved the opening sequence and the use of the old Special Presentation pre-announcement. I hadn't seen it for years and it was good to see it again. I loved the way they introduced this Supernatural episode with the explosion of snowflakes and blinking signage.

This episode leapt off the screen with so many tender and touching moments. The acting was outstanding. It was like a refreshing cold drink of water after walking through a barren desert. What a straight to the heart reminder of what we are missing on a weekly basis with the ongoing Writers’ Strike.

Wee People
The little ones acting in the present day sequences were just adorable, all decked out in their Christmas pj's and waiting for Santa in their Christmas trimmed, well maintained homes.

When the flashbacks happened with our boys, it emphasized the bleak surroundings that they had at Christmas growing up. It underscored and drove home how much Dean looked out for his little brother and tried to make it a happy Christmas for Sammy.

Both weeSam and weeDean did excellent jobs. I loved the way weeSam blew out his nostrils just like BigSam does when he sighs.

Dean's Necklace
What an emotional packed scene. So now we know, that Uncle Bobby had given weeSammy the necklace to give to John originally and that it is suppose to be special. I wonder how it will prove to be special in the upcoming episodes? The look on weeSam's face when weeDean said how much he loved it was truly wonderful.

Gross Moments
Did anyone else cringe with poor Sammy's fingernail being pulled out. OMG!!!

Weren't those knives wicked looking?

The mouth smacking, envisioning eating Sam and Dean – uggh!

Funny Moments
When Sam and Dean are in the craft store and Sam's describing the wreath as yummy and the store owner saying wasn't he just the fussy one and Dean laughing and agreeing - priceless.

The look on Dean's face with his first sip of the spiked egg nog. I don't know about the rest of you, but this looked truly real to me. I would love to know if they had actually spiked it up.

Heart touching moments:
I found it very upsetting, but brilliantly done, how they showed the abundance of Christmas, in all it’s materialistic style for some of the sequences and then we see pretty scary figures pinned up and Sam scanning his computer and it also showing scary figures, as opposed to the traditional scenes most of us are more use too. The poor guys.

When Dean said to Sam about it being his last Christmas and Sam saying that he knew and how he couldn't pretend to be all happy and such knowing that Dean would be dead by next Christmas. (My eyes were leaking at this point).

The close-up look of Sam's nervous face before Dean enters the motel room and then the look of sheer joy on Dean's face when he takes it all in and realizes what Sam had done for him (for the both of them really).

The exchange of gifts - that was so cute.

Dean wishing his bro a Merry Christmas.

The quiet silence before Sam goes to say something to Dean (and I wonder what he was going to say) and then changing course and asking Dean if he wanted to watch the game.

The look on Dean's face and Sam watching Dean, as Dean looked at the Christmas tree. (I was all out crying by this point).

The use of one of the most emotional Christmas songs out there, as the boys celebrated Christmas for the first time in years. It was so fitting for them:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

The long closing shot of the snow finally starting to fall, on the Impala, and the boys inside celebrating Christmas.

As I write this, warm feelings of joy, wonder and happiness circle round.

October and November of this year were all about Supernatural, and through it, making new friends, experiencing new adventures and living moments of time, forever etched as jewels in my memory.

British Columbia

Further to my blog Hello from the land of Supernatural and Jared and Jensen – Chapter One, here is the concluding chapter.

Please note that regarding the photos, we all took pictures of each other, with each other’s cameras. Mary’s I know you’ve all seen, some of Met’s you’ve seen, Idahogirl is getting her’s done and mine are here, but I could not figure out how to link the complete albums, so I just drew on some of what was taken.

Thank you Mary (Bardicvoice), Amy (Metalligirl) and Erica (Idahogirl) for the wonderful and happy time we shared together in BC. I still feel each of your presences very close to me. Driving around in the car, music playing, with lots of laughter, while we checked out sites, was all types of awesome. I also wanted to thank Audrey (Immie) and Amanda (from Australia) for such a lovely time.

Amy, me, Erica and Mary:

I also wanted to say thank you to my fellow fangirls, who were so good finding Starbucks, so I could fill up on Grande Café Americanos, in both BC and Chicago.

When we were out at the Supernatural studios, on Glenwood Drive in Burnaby, we got to meet Jared’s dogs Sadie and Harley. They’re really cute (just like their owner eh) and very well behaved. That was fun!

Being actually at the studios was very exciting. When we walked to the side of the building and saw the back lot, with the water tower and Bobby’s truck, that was so cool.

I wanted to give a special shout out of thanks to my Mom. My Mom tried to arrange a set visit while I was out in BC. She spoke with Lesley De Haan who as I understand it, was lovely. Unfortunately, due to an incident that happened last year during a fan set visit, they weren’t having any presently. However, a personalized autographed photo from Kim Manners and the boys, is currently on its way to me. So Mom, thank you for being the most wonderful Mom in the world. Love you.

Here’s me and my Mom:

As Mary mentioned in her blog Supernatural Fan Greetings from Vancouver, Part Two, the train issue in BC came up a few times. On this particular day, after viewing the studios, as we were leaving, we were waiting for a light change. I was in the back seat with IG and the lights started to flash and the signals were going off and I looked over at the driver in a car on the other side and he looked horrified and I’m thinking – hmmm! Then all of a sudden, the train was like right there and I went to say something and Mary looked over and thank God, cause we cleared the tracks, breathed big sighs of relief and the trains in BC are now forever known as “Sons of a bi**ches.”

We drove to many different locales, but my personal highlight was Fort Langley. I just knew this was my kind of place, when this

was hanging in the yard. (Now, I know Halloween was coming up, but still, how cool).

When we arrived in Fort Langley, Mary suggested a pit stop. When we arrived at the parking lot, I started to hyperventilate. I’d recognized the bridge from one of my very favourite episodes, Croatoan. I remember Erica rubbing my arm and Mary and Amy saying “Breath” and “Down girl”. In the washrooms, I was banging their doors, man, was I anxious to get down there. Whoo Hoo!

Well, we’re making our way down and what happens – a train! Amy and Mary are ahead of Erica and I and all of a sudden, there’s a train. We ran across the tracks and there it went. I’d actually never stood that close to a fast moving train before and I’ll never forget the looks on everyone’s faces, when I turned around after the train had gone. Amy says to me “Have you never seen a train before?” It was too funny.

Well, I’m practically dragging everyone down to the location where the boys stood. OMG! I even got some wood from the poles. I still can’t believe it. This to me, was a major highlight.

Random photo: I wouldn’t mind just of staying right where I was in this photo, it’s the exact place the Impala was parked. I was happy. (This was in New Westminster).

Another favourite episode of mine Faith was also filmed in Fort Langley. There were just too many empty fields that all looked the same though, to figure out which one they used.

Seeing where portions of the episode Scarecrow was filmed was interesting.

One of the other highlights was a detailed analysis of the parking garage in New Westminster where a portion of the Nightshifter episode was filmed. It was a ball running up that same staircase as the guys and then Mary putting Renegade by Styx on when we were driving out, that was great.

This happened on the Monday, Amy had stayed over for an extra day, Erica had left the night before. I was in the backseat and we were heading into downtown Vancouver and I was saying I wonder where the Royal Bank was that they filmed Nightshifter in. At the red light, I looked to my right and there, right in front of me, was the bank. I said to Mary and Amy “Oh my God – there it is”. My picture did not turn out great, but I’m hoping Met’s did, as she has one fantastic camera.

Just before seeing the bank, we passed through East Hastings. My goodness, this area is very sad, so full of human misery and tragedy. Even with the outreach work I do in my own city, I was very unprepared for the desolation and extreme sadness of the people on the streets. It was very upsetting. Within two blocks in downtown Van., you go from East Hastings to high end Robson. It’s a real mind bender.
