Read Still Hangin' in Neptune...
I'm watching the episode with the 80s dance (Total Eclipse of the Heart) and the weird dog. Logan made me cry in the Hotel. I think there's a possibility I'm warming towards him. Darn it. I do love Leo and the sketch artist picture was priceless!!!
Read Home Depot: You Can Do It, But We May Not Help
Part of my Staycation has consisted of opening my front door to various installers for completion of my home improvement projects.

Today was the installation of my new patio door. The installer was fabulous and even caught an error on the store's part. The store that sold us the door packaged the wrong size trim with the door so I went on a drive up to another Home Depot that was a little closer. The customer service person took FOREVER to get me what I needed (although she was thorough and even called the installer to confirm) and then sent me on my merry way to the register with 3 pieces of wood that were 7 feet long each.

As most of you know, I'm 5'3" so that was a challenge. Then, only the self check aisles were open. Talk about a comedy of errors. I almost impaled the guy behind me and the guy in front of me with the boards as we were waiting. Then, I couldn't pick them back up and NO ONE OFFERED TO HELP ME! (maybe it was the near impalement) I just needed an assist but the staff just stood and stared (and I swear one of them snickered) as I struggled with them. Sometimes you've got to wonder.

Given Eric's crabbiness when I got home this morning, I decided I'd leave him in the dust in the VM watching and make him catch up! I just rewatched the 5th episode (I was distracted yesterday by the phone constantly ringing) and have completely revised my opinion of Troy. I still love the dad though. Wasn't he in "Just Shoot Me" a few years ago?
Read Veronica Mars: Cease and Desist Order
After watching the first 6 eps today, I've decided to stop watching Veroncia Mars for now. I want Eric to watch it with me and since he's not home tonight, I don't want to get to far ahead. I think he'll enjoy it too. *sigh* Being nice is HARD.
Read Veronica Mars: Initital Take
I LOVE Weevil and Wallace. I was floored that Paris Hilton was in the second ep and actually was decent. Hate Logan, with a passion. Troy is good. Love the dad. Intrigued by the mystery.
Read My First Two Stops: Pangea and The Impala
I spent time this weekend in Pangea and it was delightful, as I had anticipated. The Baby Dinosaur never failed to make me laugh. "NOT THE MAMA" is the best line in TV.

I spent my morning in the backseat of Dean's Impala. I just finished the Season Finale and it gave me goosebumps. The opening montage to Kansas' "Carry On Wayward Son" was worthy of an Emmy IMO. My personal favorite moment was when the boys sang Bon Jovi:

This episode also further confirmed that my fear of small children is legitimate! Especially little girls. Yeesh.

I'm off to Neptune now. :)
Read A Few Random Thoughts:
1. Why are we being tortured by ads that redirect us from the site? I thought being on the site was a GOOD thing. GRRRR....

2. Why do I enjoy certain types of shows/humor more in foreign shows/movies than I do in American movies? I can watch Ninja Warrior for hours but put me in front of an American obstacle course show and I'm bored to tears. Same thing goes for the type of humor in Death at Funeral, it was just funnier in a British accent.

3. Why is it, no matter what size I currently wear, that is the size that always not available when I'm shopping?

4. Is Wall-E a kids movie? I saw it today and loved it but I somehow don't think a kid would enjoy it. It required a level of concentration that I had trouble with and I'm 32 years old!

As some of you know, I'm off work for the next week. I'm not going to be physically traveling but I plan to spend time in the following locales:

Pangea
Dean's Impala
Neptune
Philadelphia, PA
Antarctica
The Uncharted Territories
Dillon, TX

Who says we need to leave home in order to visit other places???? :)

As many of you have heard on the news, the Midwest is experiencing some serious flooding issues. Although the biggest and scariest problems are upstream from STL right now, I wanted to share these pics that I took today (from a moving car!). The area you see with water is, under normal (whatever that is anymore) conditions, DRY. The River has exceeded its banks and I'm a bit worried it's going to get up to the highway. I lived here in 1993 and vividly remember that flood so this doesn't freak me out too badly. Eric isn't from this area and has never seen this happen before, so it's been interesting for me to view this through his eyes. Fortunately, the flood would have to be in Biblical proportions to affect our home, but both the town he works in and one of the branches of the bank I work at could be seriously impacted if things get bad. One never realizes the importance of a levee until it gets breached! Has anyone else out there been impacted by this current flood or has memories of the 1993 flood to share?
Read Dinosaurs: Gotta Love the Hensons!!!
Dinosaurs

On the advice of my blog buddies, I'm working through the rest of SN S3 and my Dinosaurs DVDs simultaneously. I've just finished Season 1 (all 5 episodes!) of Dinosaurs and am watching the first ep of S2. I had forgotten how positively delightful and tongue-in-cheek this show is. It has some distinct Farscape characteristics with its way of showing us our lives through the viewpoint of alternate civilizations. I'm having TONS of fun here!

Who else loves this show? :)
Read Battlestar Galactica Finale: HUH????
I'm fuddled. Absolutely frelling frakking fuddled by the finale. I don't even know what to say. OK, they found Earth and Earth is decimated. We still don't know who the 5th Toaster is. The Toasters and the Humans are working together now? I have a slight fear of jump the shark because I felt the end of the series should have been when they found Earth. Boom, period, paragraph, end of story. But, alas, it is not. Feedback please, my fellow BSG fans!!!! CINDY!!! FURLEY!!! COME OUT AND PLAY!
Read Supernatural: Mystery Spot
There's nothing quite like being 4 months behind the times, is there??? I just finished watching Mystery Spot and I'm a bit freaked because I watched Ground Hog Day just last week. I didn't do it on purpose, Ground Hog Day was on one of the movie channels last week and it's one of Eric's faves so we watched it and Mystery Spot was up next on the DVR and I was instructed by my Blog Buddies to get caught up so I'm trying to be a good girl! *looks for halo*

I always forget how much I enjoy SN when I'm apart from it for awhile. The relationship between the brothers really gets me. Plus, they HUGGED!!!! *giggles*

Of course, the good thing about being behind the times is that I still have several delicious eps to view! :) I'm trying to remain relatively spoiler free so as to maximize enjoyment. But, I wanted to let you guys know, I am following your instructions!
Read HELP: What to Watch???
One of the by-products of my recent home improvement projects is that I "discovered" a bunch of DVDs I purchased and never watched. My problem is, where do I start first? Here are the choices:

American Dreams Season 1
Dinosaurs Seasons 1-4 (this is the Jim Henson Dinosaurs series)
Friday Night Lights Season 2
Gilmore Girls Season 7
House Seasons 1 & 2
Party of 5 Season 1
Stargate SG-1: The Ark of Truth
Stargate SG-1: Seasons 1 - 10

Just for the record, I'm utterly intimidated by the sheer amount of Stargate SG-1 and I will refuse to watch Gilmore Girls Season 7 until VeeVee is back because I can't handle the trauma without her! So, having said that, what do you guys think?

Also, here are pics of the DVD cabinets it took me SIX MONTHS to select:

Read WGN America: Outta Sight Retro Nights
outtasightlogo.gif
On Friday night, Eric and I were flipping channels trying to find something, anything, to watch. Eventually, we stumbled across WGN America's "Outta Sight Retro Night" and were provided 4 episodes of WKRP in Cincinnati, including our all-time favorite, Turkey's Away. I'm disappointed because it was just a week long thing that ends tonight. I learned after the fact that they ran episodes of Mary Tyler Moore, which I also adore.

I remember back when I was in college, I would watch Nick at Nite which gave me nightly episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Bewitched, WKRP, and later even Barney Miller. I wish these shows continued to get airtime, as they are classics and what's more, it gives a great basis for comparison between today's TV and that of the past. I applaud WGN America for bringing some of them back, even for just a week.

What shows would you love to see brought back? I wonder if we can start a movement? ;)
Read Viewing Habits
I work in fairly small bank (less than 50 employees) and it's interesting to hear the "watercooler" TV conversations. I've noticed 4 distinct viewing patterns:

Mainstreamers: These folks huddle up to talk about AI, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, etc and claim to be huge TV fans yet they've not really expanded past what the networks TELL them to watch. The mainstreamers have a "reality addict" subsect.

Tightwads:: These folks refuse to subscribe to cable or satellite service, not because they take issue with the programming but because they refuse to pay for it. Interestingly enough, my direct boss and my direct report are both tightwads. The tightwad holds his lack of TV as a trophy but has also been known to pour money into DVDs in order watch shows they could watch on cable for free!

Old fashioned: This bunch not only don't subscribe to cable or satellite, they don't watch anything except the local news, operating under the belief that it's better to out in the real world interacting with people and to have their kids playing outside rather than in front of the tube.

Freaks: The freaks tend to watch a variety of shows, some mainstream but many not. We love channels like G4 and Sci Fi. Some watch Ghost Hunters, some are addicted to Ninja Warrior, and others adore the "Sell this House" type stuff. Obviously, I fall into this category.

It's amusing when we all interact. I often give looks of horror to the old fashioned and tightwad sects because I can't imagine life without my extra channels. They look at me as though I'm either financially or socially irresponsible. The mainstreamers just think I'm a nerd. :)

How do your viewing habits compare to that of your co-workers or friends? :)
