Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog: Soundtrack Available on iTunes!
Calling all Horrible fans! The soundtrack to Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is now available for download on iTunes! Now you can blast the songs in the car and sing along, which I know you've been dying to do ever since you watched the episodes.
And to keep from embarrassing yourself too much, they've also posted the lyrics. The liner notes include the official names of all the songs too. So, now you'll understand why Joss hates it when people call the first song in Episode 1, "Laundry Day."

Today's 08/08/08 and birthdays of two very special people.
Happy birthday Met!
You make me laugh! Plus, I don't think I ever appreciated an Impala until I "met" you. (this video is about 5 minutes long)
And this is Jensen and Jared's reaction when they heard that I *almost* forgot your birthdays.
Even the Winchester boys made me feel bad!! So please be sure to tell them that I remembered in time!!! (I forgot to ask earlier but did you find a new job?)
And a very happy birthday to my friend Iggy, who keeps me entertained throughout the day and who'll keep me company in November at my very first Creation Con, and with whom I promise to take "groupie" pics at Triangle Plaza. Sorry I *almost* forgot today was your birthday, but I know you know why! Hope it's a fabulous one and that you didn't have to spend too much on gas!
So, ladies, have a fantabulous birthday weekend!
Missed Dr Horrible the first time? Watch it on MySpaceTV!
I don't know how long it will be up but all 42 minutes of Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog are posted on MySpaceTV right now. You can watch it for free (with limited commercials) here.
I don't know how long it will be up, but it's up right now! I also don't know if it can be viewed in other countries--it's via Hulu--so you'll have to let me know if you can see it in Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.
NPH Talks About Doogie, HIMYM, Dr Horrible and Others
Neil Patrick Harris did a live discussion on WashingtonPost.com yesterday that I'm only finding out about now! You can read the transcript here.
And just to tease you, two of the questions he answered are:
* Vienna, Va.: Did Dr. Horrible try to warn Captain Hammer about the broken Freeze Ray just before Captain Hammer pulled the trigger?
* Fairfax, Va.: Everyone who's watched"Dr. Horrible" knows you can sing, and pull an evil laugh. Joss Whedon's often made reference (jokingly, perhaps, it is hard to tell with that man) to a potential live form of "Dr. Horrible." Would you be interested in even a one-night "Dr. Horrible Live" on stage?
If you haven't seen it yet, go away. There will be spoilers in the comments. Go away and come back after you've seen it! Free views end tomorrow (Sunday, July 20), so hurry!
Hopefully, by then I'll have recovered enough to say more than "OMG!"
I didn't think it was possible to have loved Act 2 even more than I loved Act 1. Apparently, I have Done the Impossible! And we haven't even gotten to the Denouement!
I'm dying to talk about it, but I have to get a few things done first. Feel free to start without me! Hope no one has trouble getting through today. I got through on the first try at www.drhorrible.com.
Episode 1 premieres tomorrow; Episode 2 will be on Thursday (July 17th), and Episode 3 will premiere on July 19th.
The episodes will be available on www.drhorrible.com for free until July 20th. Then, there will be a time when the episodes can be downloaded (for a fee) after the 20th. After that, you'll have to wait for the DVD.
More on Dr Horrible
Yes! More updates on Dr Horrible!
Captain Hammer has his own comic on Dark Horse! You can catch the sneak preview here. It's written by Zack Whedon.
If you haven't read Matt Roush's review of all 41 minutes of the series, read it here.
Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog: It's Here! You Can Change TV Forever!
Airdates for the Internet series, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog have been released! Yes, really! The wait is over! Well, okay, not over exactly, but at least now we know that we don't have to wait for much longer!
Joss has announced that the series will "air" on the official Dr. Horrible website on the following days:
* Part 1 - Tuesday July 15 * Part 2 - Thursday July 17 * Part 3 - Saturday July 19
However, the series will only air online until July 20th. After that they will be available for download for a limited time (and costing a nominal fee). And eventually it will be made available on DVD with what Joss calls, "the finest and bravest extras in the land."
The Internet series is written by Joss Whedon, his brothers Zach and Jed, and Jed's fiancee Maurissa and stars Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, the Harold and Kumar movies, and Doogie Howser, M.D.) as Doctor Horrible, Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Drive, Desperate Housewives) as the superhero who likes to beat him up, and Felicia Day (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Guild) as the girl he falls in love with. And yes--all three sing. The series was written during the Writers' Strike, when Joss was looking for an alternative way to distribute series other than via the television studios.
So now, Dr Horrible fans, it's your turn. Spread the word all over the Interweb! Tell your friends, neighbors, family, childhood crushes, and superheros! Post banners on your blog, MySpace, or website! This is a chance to change the face of television and Internet series forever.
Plus, it's a way to get back at all those studio and network executives you hate because they canceled your favorite series far, far too soon! The times, they are a changin'. Now it's time to prove it!
And if that wasn't inspirational enough, listen to what Joss has to say:
“[Do] What you always do, peeps! What you’re already doing. Spread the word. Rock some banners, widgets, diggs… let people know who wouldn’t ordinarily know. It wouldn’t hurt if this really was an event. Good for the business, good for the community – communitIES: Hollywood, Internet, artists around the world, comic-book fans, musical fans (and even the rather vocal community of people who hate both but will still dig on this). Proving we can turn Dr Horrible into a viable economic proposition as well as an awesome goof will only inspire more people to lay themselves out in the same way. It’s time for the dissemination of the artistic process. Create more for less. You are the ones that can make that happen."
And Joss, thank you for picking my birthday week to air the series! This is even better than the year I got real sneaker roller skates from my parents and a penny from my four-year-old brother (he didn't have any money to buy me a present but he didn't want to be left out so he put the penny in the sneaker).
I'm not one for carbonated, sugary sodas (or "pop" as they call it in the Midwest). I usually prefer to hold off and save the calories for something tastier--like chocolate cake! Plus, I'm allergic to caffeine so many sodas are off limits anyway.
But today, I needed something a little different, a little boost to wake me up enough to finish this article that was due, oh, in May. So, standing at the soda fountain, I spied root beer. And because I've been missing my Big Sis, I bit the bullet and got some.
See the sacrifices I make for your well being, Rev?
Plus, it looked like no one else had got around to doing a Rev blog today, so I figured it must be my turn. Where is everyone? Off battling site gremlins?
Have a great weekend, everybody!
And big hugs to you, Sis. As you can see, you're rarely far from the forefront of my mind.
Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Trailer: Watch It!
There's only one thing that I'm looking forward to more than my birthday this summer.
Just in time for Joss Whedon's birthday and Can't Stop the Serenity 2008, Firefly DVDs are selling for less than $20 at several different outlets. Try Circuit City and Target (seems to be cheaper in the stores themselves rather than online).
And in the meantime, don't forget to buy your tickets for Can't Stop the Serenity! They sell out quickly! (Looking forward to seeing some of you at CSTS Arlington on June 20th and 21st! )
