With the series renewed and returning to your TV screens this fall (prompting fans everywhere to proclaim "she'll be back!"), you of course will want to catch Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles's 9-episode premiere season run once again before the new season starts. You can count on repeats airing during the summer, of course, but there's nothing quite like owning your very own copies on disc...complete with exclusive extras!

Josh Friedman, who created the show, has let the cat out of the bag that The Complete 1st Season will arrive on home video sometime in August, and that cast and crew have participated in bonus material which includes Commentary Tracks and "mini-documentaries". Besides himself, participants include Director David Nutter (The X-Files, Roswell, Smallville), Executive Producer James Middleton (upcoming Terminator 4 film), various writers, and show leads Lena Headey (300), Thomas Dekker (Heroes), Summer Glau (Firefly) and Brian Austin Green (Beverly Hills, 90210).

The August release of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - The Complete 1st Season will be available from Warner Home Video on both standard DVD ($29.98 list price), and on high-definition Blu-ray Disc ($39.99 list price, per early information). Popular online retailer Amazon.com doesn't have any additional info just yet (not even an exact street date), but they can lock in your pre-orders right away at a discounted cost, and "will deliver it to you when it arrives." What could be better? — David Lambert

Read Save money on your TV-DVD obsession
TV-DVD sets can be expensive, so it's always nice to catch them when they go on sale. Amazon.com, a store we all love, often puts their DVDs on sale, but the sales are easily missed if you aren't paying close attention. That's one of the reasons we've created a nifty sales page; it keeps track of DVDs that go on sale, and allows you to sort them countless different ways. Only want to see to see sets that are 50% off or more? Not a problem. Only have $30 to spend? Piece of cake. Want a list of the sets you can save over $100 off on? Yup, that's there too.

The DVD Sales Page list almost 800 titles that are at least 40% off, and nearly 1,000 titles that are 35% off or higher. It's updated every hour, so keep checking back, or create a customized RSS feed with the titles sorted the way you want them. Restrict the percent savings, minimum dollar savings, maximum price, by genre, and then sort the results 9 different ways. You'll love how easy it is, though your bank account won't.

We're also planning a movies sales page for the near future; I'll post another update when it's done.

Firefly on Blu-ray Disc, Courtesy of Fox Home Ent.
Right at this moment we're nearing the end of a mini TV shows on Blu-ray "drought". Did you realize there even WAS one? Oh, yeah: the January 29th release of Damages marks the last time a TV season set came out on the high definition Blu-ray Disc format.

But if you own a Blu-ray player, then never fear! The dry spell is over in just a few weeks, when Lionsgate releases Weeds - Season 3 on June 3rd. And other titles are on the way, too, including the just-announced 3rd Season of Prison Break, arriving day-and-date with the DVD version on August 26.

There's much more, too. Among the upcoming titles are July 1st's Mad Men from Lionsgate, BBC Video's July 29th release of Robin Hood, and MGM's direct-to-video return of Stargate SG-1, titled "Continuum," on the same date. August 26th sees the first *TWO* seasons of Heroes on BD and, just a week prior to that, the first season of the Cartoon Network's Justice League comes to stores. The fourth seasons of both Grey's Anatomy and Lost have been announced for later in the year, and we're even gonna get Joss Whedon's fabulous Firefly on Blu-ray Disc before the year is over, too!

What else will we get in Blu? It's a cinch that we'll see more TV shows come to the hi-def format, including additional seasons of programs already out on Blu-ray like Smallville and Masters of Horror. We also ought to see more titles, like Heroes which had previously been available on the recently discontinued HD DVD format. The original Star Trek series and the modern version of Battlestar Galactica both come to mind.

And we know that more TV-on-BD titles are going to be produced sooner or later, right? So TV Guide wants you to weigh in right now: which shows do YOU think are deserving of the hi-def disc release? Should Chuck get the mission? Or would you prefer to see the C.S.I. shows, especially C.S.I. Miami's "candy" shots, on Blu-ray? Would you be interested in adding classic programs, such as The Twilight Zone or The Dick Van Dyke Show, to your hi-def collection? Or do more modern shows give you Big Love for Blu-ray? Maybe the format should simply be Pushing Daisies? Let us know!

Even if you don't own a Blu-ray Disc player just yet, go ahead and tell us which shows presented in the format - with ultra-crisp video and ultra-clear audio - would make you want to upgrade your equipment...assuming the price was right on the hardware, of course.

Which programs deserve the chance to get presented in your home with 1080p goodness, and why? We're very interested to hear what you think!

OK, so since we had so much fun last week with everyone’s DVD wish lists, (and where the hell is thirtysomething, anyway?!) I figured why not give ya’ll a chance to weigh in with more opinions. Obviously everyone here loves TV, so let’s keep the dialogue going folks. This week? Bitches.

And I mean that in a good way, not in the nasty rap way. Because most of my favorite shows feature a woman who gives as good as she takes, has no problem firing a boardroom full of suits with the toss of her fur stole, and never, ever leaves home without a victim in mind. How can you not love these women?!

Beverly Hills, 90210 — The Complete Fourth Season came out last month and I devoured this set like Mama Cass at the sandwich shop. Not only is it the gang’s first year in college, but it marks Brenda's move to the Dark Side (following my all-time-favorite Brenda moment ever in Season 3, when La Walsh loses it on Kelly and Dylan for their summer affair: “Look, I hate you both. Never talk to me again!”) From that point on, we knew Brenda was not long for the ol' zip code. [Thanks to Sharipep for the fact-checking!]
Buy 90210 on Amazon.com

Melrose Place — Obviously, these two go hand-in-well-manicured-hand and any look at TV’s best bad girls would be remiss without a nod to Heather Locklear’s Amanda. However, the Complete Fourth Season is really the showcase for Marcia Cross’ demented Kimberly Shaw. Hell, the first episode of the set is the "Melrose Goes Boom" extravaganza. And I have watched it over and over again, just to see Alison blown up. The season also gives us a great male meanie in Patrick Muldoon’s nasty fashion maven Richard Hart. But really, it’s all about crazy Kimberly.

Bionic Woman — Last fall’s much-heralded reboot of my beloved childhood fave was disappointing to some, but I still think it had a chance to kick-ass with the right tweaks. Sadly, we’ll never know. Still, how frakkin great was Battlestar’s Katee Sackhoff as the original model, Sarah Corvus?

24 — OK, so later this month, 20th Century Fox is dropping this nifty Special Edition version of season 1, with an intro by Kiefer and a whole bunch of killer extras (alternate ending, people!). Anyway, because this is one of those shows a lot of folks have caught up with on DVD, I will not be SpoilerGuy and give anything away, but just keep your eye on Sarah Clarke’s Nina and Penny Johnson’s Sherry Palmer. That’s all I’ma say.
Buy 24 on Amazon.com

Laverne & Shirley — I’m sorry, but Big Rosie Greenbaum? You can’t beat that shizz. Or is that Shotz?

Nip/Tuck — Oh Kimber. There is so much to say about this angel-faced knockout. She’s a tramp. An opportunist. A druggie. A porn star with a heart of mold. She’s awesome. Every scene Kelly Carlson pours herself into spikes with fever. You never know what’s up her sleeve (or who’s been down her pants) and she’s joyfully ruined the lives of Christian, Sean and Matt by using sex as a weapon and a way of getting what she wants. This is a character who could only exist on cable. And in my old high school.

Aiight, folks. Now it’s your turn. Give me the deets on your favorite TV beyotches and why they are so lovably hateful!

Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh likes sticking her nose where it doesn't belong, and her obsession with solving murders takes her out of the lab and onto the streets. She often butts heads with police, and she steps on toes to recover evidence and solve cases, but there's always been one case that she's been unable to solve - the murder of her mother. All 23 episodes, presented in widescreen, are available on this 5-disc set. Special features include audio commentaries with Creator Tim Kring, Producer/Director Allan Arkush and composers Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin; deleted scenes and interviews with the producers and cast members (4 separate interviews). — Gord Lacey
