Read Your Holiday Gift: Three Nights of My Boys
Hello!

First of all, I just want to extend a big, hearty thank-you to those of you who have written to let us know that you support the show. Clearly it worked, as we will be back in production next spring!

The airing of the last episodes will be a little different now, so I hope you can stay tuned.

This will be the schedule: All-new episodes will start at 10 pm/ET tonight and tomorrow night and the season finale will start at 10 pm/ET on Thursday night.

Some of you mentioned that you appreciate the Chicago "shout-outs" (as the kids say). We have some pretty die-hard Chicago fans on our writing team who would shoot the whole show there if given permission to.

So would I, actually. I visited the city for the first time before starting the show to get a feel for it, and I've since been back several times.

Well, in one episode, we make reference to a venue called the Hideout, saying that "Sam Winch's band" will be playing there. Sam Winch is a friend of our writer, Eric Gilliland, and has an amazing band, complete with an entire horn section.

In fact, Eric is actually featured whistling for them on some tracks. I tell you, you never heard whistling like this before. It's so hauntingly beautiful it breaks my heart. Yes, whistling.

Anyway, a few days ago I was having a drink with Betsy Thomas (our executive producer), and she told me that the owner of the Hideout called her to say, "Thanks for the mention and, by the way, Sam Winch will, in fact, be playing here on Dec. 28."

So if you are in the Chicago area, stop over at the Hideout and check out Sam Winch's band. (Just make sure to record the season finale!) It will be a great night for sure.

So glad to hear you are enjoying the show. Best wishes for this new year!

Read Father, Daughter Team on New Episode of My Boys
Hey, everybody —

Tomorrow night you will witness a legend. We have a guest star in the "Superstar Treatment" epsiode who has been a huge writer, producer, director and actor in this business forever.

His name is Jay Tarses. Just to name a couple of things he's done, he was the producer and writer of a little-known show, The Bob Newhart Show, and played Coach Bobby Finstock in Teen Wolf (yes!!!). He is also the father of our other executive producer, the equally legendary Jamie Tarses. It was pretty funny, actually, to witness his daughter as the boss of him on the set.

Also on the great-news front, I just found out that My Boys has been picked up for nine more episodes! That's nine more episodes of pure comedy gold! Thank you, guys, for watching and supporting our show.

Happy holidays,
Jordana
Read Two new guest stars to join My Boys
I'm happy to tell you about two of our guest stars in this Tuesday's episodes.

In episode 105, you will meet Brendan's on-again, off-again girlfriend, Wendy, played by Lindsey Stoddart. Lindsey has been a longtime improv performer at the Improv Olympic West. She is a recurring character on My Boys, so you don't want to miss her introduction — clearly!

In episode 106, Johnny Galecki makes the first of a couple of appearances on the show. He plays Trouty, the epitome of a bad hang. You may know him from Roseanne as Darlene's boyfriend. Johnny is an amazing actor. He is currently performing in a Broadway play called "The Little Dog Laughed."

When we started shooting this episode, he had just finished a movie the night before. He didn't wrap until four in the morning and had been doing a scene in which he was crying and puking. (Apparently it was a drama — let's hope). Just a few hours later, he arrived on our set as a completely different character in a comedy.

Well, I thought you might enjoy his performance even more, knowing
that ... It's one of a kind, to say the least.

Thanks for tuning in,
Jordana
Read Eagerly awaiting week no. 2 of My Boys
Hey again —

I hope you all enjoyed the first two episodes of My Boys and are waiting with baited breath for another installment. Well, let the hour-by-hour countdown begin because Tuesday is finally here!

Thinking about the first of this week's episodes (Episode 102: "Team Chemistry"), I immediately go to this one scene at the bar (go figure) where Kenny (Mike Bunin) and Mike (Jamie Kaler) are having a tiff. Mike is jealous because Kenny is spending more and more time with Bobby (Kyle Howard). They actually improvised a lot of that scene. The dialogue was very funny as it was, but they just kept building on it. They seemed to make it snarkier with each take until they ended it on Bunin's ad-libbed line, "Drink until you like yourself," and Kaler's response, "That's a lot of drinks."

Jamie and Mike are great improvisers together. Mike has been a regular performer at the Improv Olympic West for eight years. You can actually catch his show every Saturday night if you are in the Los Angeles area. He is also the drummer for an Irish comedy band called The Mighty Regis Philbin. (You can look them up through MySpace under the band's name.)

Jamie is a well-known stand-up comic here in Los Angeles. You can find out about his upcoming gigs on his MySpace page (under Jamie Kaler). I highly recommend seeing any of their shows.

The second episode that we will be airing for your viewing pleasure is called "The Slump." In a nutshell, the gang is down and out because none of us can score a date. This episode was actually the first episode we shot after we shot the piIot. I really like the performance of one our guest stars, Adam Kulbersh, in this episode. He has only one monologue in the whole show, but he kept cracking everyone up each time he did it. Just a really funny, good guy.

Anyway, I hope you check out this week's new episodes — and, if you don't, that you at least set your TV to TBS before you go off and do whatever it is you're doing.

My best to you,
Jordana
Read An Introduction to Me and My Boys
Hey, readers. Thanks for showing up at my very first My Boys blog!

So the first bit of business: Who am I? My name is Jordana Spiro, and I play PJ on TBS' new comedy series My Boys. I don't really know anything about blogging, except that it's apparently the wave of the future, and it's a fun word to say. That being said, I will do my best to make this interesting, and feel free to let me know if there is anything specifically you want to know about. I'm sure some of you ladies will soon develop crushes on several of the boys in my cast and will want to know details about them. Well, I pride myself on my honesty, so I will only charge a small fee for anything they have told me in private.

Second bit of business: What is My Boys? And here it goes...

My Boys: The Prologue (because it hasn't started airing yet — which it will on Nov. 28 at 10 pm/ET on TBS, shameless time-slot reminder).

My Boys is about this girl, PJ, and all of her guy friends. PJ is a sportswriter for the Chicago Cubs, a great gig for her because she is also a huge Cubs fan — which is not as satisfying. Frankly it's downright masochistic. She has this group of guy friends whom she loves dearly and with whom she spends all of her free time (and, because it's a TV show, she has a lot of it). They have a weekly poker night (the hub of every episode), drink tons of beer and basically sit around and laugh at each other's shortcomings.

Amid all of this maleness, PJ is looking for love and not having the easiest time finding it, opting to spend too much time with her male buddies and her sole chick friend (played by the beautiful and talented Ms. Kellee Stewart). While she wants to find a solid relationship, she doesn't want it to cut into her poker time. Understandably. Dating is lame, and you have to pretend that you don't eat as much as you do because you don't want him to think you're a pig, blah, blah, blah. PJ, on the other hand, never pretends she's something she's not, and that's why I love her.

Oh, worth mentioning: The guy who plays my brother is the infamous stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan, who, I am learning, has a larger fan base with men under 40 than Scarlett Johansson. I'm serious. They get a little icky about it, too, and it's weird. I had watched his HBO special, Beyond the Pale, prior to working with him and sat in front of the TV all by myself, cracking up out loud, which just makes me feel like an out-and-out moron.

The rest of the cast and the executive producer, Betsy Thomas (on whom PJ is based and who has pretty much become my own personal hero), are amazing, and I want to tell you about each and every one of them at length (much like this sentence). But I didn't want to write a book, so I will save them for later.

Anyway, I had the best time making the show. I really hope you tune in and get a chuckle out of it, too — especially if you have a Nielsen box. So don't forget to check out My Boys. Please, don't make me beg, because I will. I'm already writing a blog... I mean, come on.
