Daytime Emmy Noms Announced April 30 on The View

This just in from ABC:

"All My Children stars Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) and Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Farah Fath (Gigi) and John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex) of One Life to Live, Marcy Rylan (Lizzie) from Guiding Light and Van Hansis (Luke) of As the World Turns will join Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) and Alison Sweeney (Sami) from Days of our Lives as The View hosts the live nomination ceremony for the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Wednesday, April 30."

ABC will broadcast this year's Daytime Emmys live on Friday, June 20, from 8 to 11 pm/ET sharp, from Hollywood’s Kodak Theater.

Can we just all choose to produce a show that showcases daytime in a positive light (Emmys 2006) and doesn't cheapen it (Emmys 2007)?

First order of business should be to secure Rick Springfield to open like he did at the best Emmys ever in 2006.
Also, anyone who isn't currently on a show shouldn't have any business being up on stage presenting or introducing.
Do you believe I even have to say that but after last year's crap show (only good spot was Genie Francis' win) I do.

Although I am not a big fan of the character of the perpetually wishy-washy, "confused" Brooke Logan on "Bold and the Beautiful", I am a huge admirer of her portrayer, Katherine Kelly Lang, and I think it's ludicrous that she has never been nominated for an Emmy. I am hoping - in light of her powerful performances during the rape storyine - that KKL will not be overlooked again this year!

I also hope that Melody Thomas Scott will FINALLY be recognized for her much underrated work on "Y&R"!

Also on my dream list of nominations...Kirsten Aldersen (Starr, "OLTL"), John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex, "OLTL"), Kassie DePaiva (Blair, "OLTL"), Trevor St. John (Todd, "OLTL"), and Kathy Brier (Marcy, "OLTL"). I really think it is "OLTL"'s year with a lot of great, noteworthy performances!

Yes, say what you will about Lynn Latham's crap year and a half at Y&R (and most of it was crap) but she gave Melody Thomas Scott some really good story and she did magic with it. This year for you Melody! Love you!
