CBS' Eyes a Move: Big Bang, Mother Swap Slots
The Bug Bang Theory by Ron Batzdorff/CBS
CBS has announced that when The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother return with fresh episodes on March 17, they will occupy each other's time slots. Big Bang will now lead off the Eye's comedy four-pack, with Mother sliding a half-hour back, to 8:30 pm/ET. Welcome to the Captain, in turn, will move from the Monday lineup onto the answer side of a Trivial Pursuit card. — Matt Mitovich

okay, can anyone tell me if this "means" something that Mother is being moved, or am I just paranoid after reading MA's report today?

I love HIMYM, I hope this move works. March 17 isn't that far away, I'm excited.

This, in addition to one of Ausiello's answers today, totally "means" something. It means some idiot with too much power is trying to get rid of this show mid-story. People had better get a clue; audiences do not like to have shows end without the conclusions promised them at the beginning.

Maybe I'm just slow, but what does that mean? I like that show.

That would mean it's over.

The one positive thing if they are indeed canceling HIMYM is that maybe they're writing the last 6 or so episodes to give the show some closure.

I enjoy and like both shows, but the last time both were in original episodes, Big Bang Theory was out-rating How I Met Your Mother. Big Bang Theory is already renewed for a second season, while HIMYM is not. The writing is on the wall if HIMYM does not retain the majority of new lead-in Big Bang's audience.

The Captain just got going and they are pulling the plug just like that. Where is there logic for doing this? It has to cost so much when they do this. I like the show.

I hope this move isn't going to be like Men in Trees. They move it all over the place, from Friday's at 10 to Thursdays at 10 to Friday's at 8, to where is it now? No wonder shows don't make it, no one ever knows when they are on. I know my parents watch Apprentice & they haven't seen it in a few weeks because when they flip to it it's not on, yet the tv guide & the tvguide channel show that it's on. What's up with that?

Looks like people didn't watch it in droves, so why give up a valid timeslot to something most people aren't watching

I have to say I could never get into The Captain, but I feel the pain of those who like it.
I hope HIMYM gets picked up. I love that show. So witty and fun. I always laugh hysterically.
Big Bang is great too. Very smart. And I love Sheldon.
I will watch both, but since I am not a Neilson family it doesn't matter to TPTB.

It really bugs me that CBS would consider canceling HIMYM, a funny, thoughtful show that always makes me laugh a lot and almost feels like a younger "Friends" and makes me care about the characters yet would keep making new Big Brother whatevers that feature the worst people that society has to offer, more sluts than a street corner and seems more like a Jerry Springer episode with all the sex and fighting and isn't worth using to wipe my butt.
HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, Christine and CSI Miami make Mondays on CBS "Must see TV" to me and without any of them, it's just not worth it.
Come on CBS, get a clue. We want our funny shows.
